All Galaxy Tab S9 accessories work with the S9 FE, including the book cover keyboard and slim keyboard (the FE released after this video was made). You can buy the official Samsung book cover keyboard here: howl.me/ckq3KdmPMkO and check the links in the description too. I really like the Samsung outdoor cover, and I listed the link there (the case with the kickstand)
@@AndroidDigest But you did not mention if the regular S9 keyboard will work on S8 or not. I would like to know if the S-Pen cover is removed, will the kickstand work with S8, since the camera bump of S8 is smaller than S9?
Best Review out there since most only talk about the Ultra and not the standard Tab S9! Thanks Brother You're Awesome and ordered my Book Cover Keyboard!
I prefer the slim keyboard. The kickstand is really the only thing I miss. But I dont mind not having a trackpad. The touch screen is fine by itself or I can use a mouse. If Samsung makes a small hinge for more adjustable angles it would be perfect
@AndroidDigest laying in bed, its nicer to have a more straight standing view. Outside of that, I'm happy. Either way, I like both keyboards. They are just pricey. I got the slim keyboard for free with trade in though
@@jimmymac2292 I prefer the slim keyboard cover as well. My use case is mainly travel. The slim cover works better on an airline tray table. The regular cover keyboard weighs too much (more than the tablet) and the kickstand takes up too much space. I even like the slim keyboard cover better than the new origami smart cover. Again the smart cover is too heavy (0.74 lb.) and you don't even get a keyboard for all that weight. If I just want a cover I just use the book cover left over from my tab S8 (I just used an exacto knife to make the camera hole placement and size match what is needed for an S9, it looks fine to me). It's lighter and offers more adjustment positions in landscape mode.
for college, the slim keyboard cover is excellent for portability. i’ve had a few classes with small desks and the form/size combo works well for in-class learning. a lot of my classmates are intrigued and interested with the s9 and asking me what tablet is that.
I agree with you. Without the trackpad and the extra kickstand taking space it's going to fit a lot better on a college desk and it's going to be more portable
As a student myself who's about to buy a tabs9 sometime next week, how is the size of the tab s9 11inch? Because I'm comparing its size to my current iPad mini, and my brother's iPad pro, and I'm wondering how it will do with multiple tabs. Like is the size good enough to fit a Google doc, a RUclips video and maybe an article/instagram on the side? It's just that I feel like the 12.4 inch is too big (for regular use without a keyboard and light gaming) but if it can't fit all the things I need I might have to consider it..
@@baka3262 it works well in all those applications that you mentioned. if i ever feel hampered by the UI in multitasking, i’ll switch to DEX mode and im able to configure my apps however i want just like a laptop. 11” is small no doubt, but portability and light school works were my priority and it fit the bill. the microsd card slot is another factor that came into play for me. i store many videos and docs and it’s been nice to not worry about storage.
I've just bought an S8 and relative slim keyboard, and I must say the slim is just the better option for students, my university has such small desks since classes are so big and there's so many students, I don't think I could even write with the big keyboard tbh😂
I received the keyboard cover for free because of preordering the Tab S9+ in Austria. It's only for using it on a table. I had to buy the slim one, because I mostly use my tab on the lap. But it has one problem no-one is talking about. When you open it, the 45 degree angles behind make the edges very stingy (check video at 3:03) and that forces you to give up on your favourite position of the tablet on your lap. I liked to hold the tablet between my thighs, but now i get stung by those edges. The previous model didn't have that, because the s-pen slot was placed right on that angle. It's not a superficial detail. Yes, you get used to it, but I constantly move my tab on my lap to find a confortable position..it's a very weird move from Samsung. The old model s-pen slot was in my opinion more convenient, you don't want to constantly charge your s-pen and most of the time you don't even need it. I only used it without being charged, because the gestures are just gimmicks and can't look around in public like an orchestra conductor.
thanks and congratulations for the video from Italy, you are very strong and competent, at the beginning I wanted to get the slim one, but honestly after having spent all that money on the tablet I don't want to waste on €50 for the cover, then the fact that yes can also detach from the tablet is super convenient, plus the advantage of the different angles. thanks and ciao
3:02. Actual is another angle to the slim book cover, and it is quite good for note-taking. So the pack is divided into 3 parts. Going from 1 to 3 ( up to down ), the main position, the 3, is the only part touching the table with the send part detached, and the third part is still attached to cover your s pen. The second position is to lay the 3 and 2 straight at the table (which means both parts should be lying flat on the table) while the first part is still attached
Thanks so much for doing this vid! I have been trying to figure out my best options for a new tablet with detachable keyboard. I had more or less decided on the Tab S9 SE+ but the manufacturers details about the cases were deplorably bereft of specifics on most of what you covered here - which was everything I was wanting to know! If I'm going to use the tablet as my only primary device, the Book cover is definitely the right choice. But if I'm going to use it as a secondary screen for my Windows PC (via Second Screen feature) or use DeX with a PC monitor or a lapdock, then the Slim cover is more than enough.
I love the idea of the full book cover but it does not appear to be usable in a tablet only mode while on the go, folding the keyboard side under the back of the device (doesn't look like that would work at all).
My S9 with a trade-in came bundled with the slim keyboard cover. It is actually quite good. I have a small platic stand for when i detach it. For some reason, I didn't like the S7 full keyboard cover, but did like that it was detachable.

Did you find the keys on the keyboard hard to press to create a letter. Is there a setting to increase the sensivity of the keyboard. I returned mine because it required so much effort to make keystrokes it wasnt worth it.
Tablet angle matters. The fact that these can’t hold the tablet at 90 degrees is a deal breaker. Often laying on couch, having the tablet tilted away even slightly is not good. Apples Magic Keyboard allows 90 degree and even less. That’s the way to do it.
The Dexnor keyboard cover does that. It's a great alternative, very similar to the magic keyboard. The trackpad isn't perfect but I just turn it off. And use a Bluetooth mouse.
Does the gesture of the two fingers to slide through the pages work well for you? Because every time I use it like on a laptop, the cursor moves very strangely.
I've got the book cover with the trackpad. I mostly love it, but yeah it's a real shame it's basically unusable in the lap - the depth of keyboard means the kickstand is usually too far out past my knees. Not great for typing away at the airport gate... so I guess a laptop still wins in that regard!
I just bought this device. I got the slim keyboard because it is half off. I also just bought a regular mechanical keyboard for it and a magnetic desk stand. It is not like its the snap in old ipad kind that would be a legit pain to take off this is just magnets. I plan to just use it as a case when I travel or when I need a keyboard and Im not at a desk. The other one is nicer but its legit triple the price. It was cheaper for me to get all the other accessories than just the one magnetic keyboard. Not worth it.

Thank you for the great video(s). I got the S9 + with the keyboard cover. The keyboard is great except that you cannot use it if detached. I have a tab stand, I can't use the keyboard with this setting. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Yes and no. It's more rigid and sturdier than the book cover on your lap. But not as sturdy as a laptop for sure. Also different depending on the person
That's my biggest question honestly. I have a feeling they might be, but I haven't been able to test it yet. I have devices that come in and out so often, so haven't gotten the chance yet.
If any keyboard would work, it would be the keyboard for the tab S9. I'll have to try it myself though. I plan to test it soon. Otherwise there may be one they are making
Sorry, I didn't get a chance to weigh them. Slightly heavier than the S8 Slim keyboard or the S7 book cover keyboard. They are a little more rigid, but not too much heavier. Pretty similar in weight, sorry I didn't weigh them!
I bought the S7 a few years ago and have barely used it. I noticed that the whole tablet experience has become more of a gimmick. It's essentially a phone with a bigger screen. Save your money and invest in a laptop instead.
I get why you would say that. Some people don't like to use a laptop and they just want something portable to bring around for light tasks. Or to watch movies on. But for those people that need more productivity, I agree, laptops are typically better at that. I personally use both, and in the end, I use my laptop way more.
I hear you. At least you can get some money back. I prefer the regular book cover myself.. If you don't like it you could always return and get something like the outdoor cover and a bluetooth keyboard.
Yes and no. It's good for a trackpad on a thin keyboard case. It's not too bad. But I do find that its so thin and pretty small so if you want to get extra precise I'd recommend just getting a Bluetooth mouse on the side just in case. And if you're worried about the keyboard case being a little crammed, you could always buy something like the Samsung outdoor cover, and you could buy a nice Bluetooth keyboard like the MX keys mini. Which has backlit keys. Then you can get more travel and a better experience. Just a little more to carry
The slim is better, why: - you don’t need trackpad because pen + touch display is way faster and more natural - screen closer to the the hand, so easier to touch, and feel more immerse with content - taking up less space on table, look more sleek and just right for tablet, and easier to work on the lap. - fastest switch from typing position, to drawing positon, just detatch it from the base then lay it flat on top the keyboard, like the logitech slim folio pro - cheaper, like a lot cheaper The same reason i switch from magic keyboard, to logitech slim folio pro in my case, an ipad user. Too bad samsung don’t built backlit to it.
I like your comment. Because it makes a strong case for the slim keyboard. Both cases have different audiences, thanks for sharing! I'll keep your advice in mind when I'm reviewing the Tab S10 series and talking keyboards
Yeah, I don't blame you! I enjoy the Dexnor keyboard cover personally, it's great if you are willing to turn off the touchpad most of the time. It has more travel and lifts up the tablet so you can get a better angle. It's similar to the iPad Pro magic keyboards. But if you don't like that, hey, maybe just try a good case and a bluetooth keyboard.
I haven't seen one. But I wouldn't recommend it. You can find the book cover keyboard on eBay for the S8 Ultra for a discount right now. Even if you look for a new one. It would be roughly the same price as what a slim one would be anyway. And like I said, you could still get it new. But they technically didn't release one for the S8 Ultra. At least as far as I'm aware. And the S9 ultra one will not be compatible
The reason you might have a tablet and want a keyboard all the time would be if you get a "free" tablet from your phone company and don't want to buy a separate laptop lol
I don't blame you, a good work around is just using a Samsung Outdoor Cover (gives you the kickstand) and it is also more protective, and then you just get a bluetooth keyboard on the side. Then you can travel with it, when you want to, but use a kickstand and have something light when you don't want that.
No. S8 keyboard works with S9. Back kickstand won't fit due to different cameras. But it won't go the other way around. Keyboard won't work from the S9 to S8
The fact that samsung is charging an arm and a leg for the book cover keyboard WITHOUT BACKLIGHTING???? Samsung wtf are you doing bro 😂😂 This should be a f*cking crime
I've got to keep it real. They could bring similar technology here. Those keyboards are great quality, and cheaper. So not afraid to bring them up. But I respect your opinion.

Can u pls tell , i have ordered s9 plus keyboard for my s7 plus tablet, will it work or should i cancel it now only??
Did it work? or did you cancel?
Anyone knows if the tab s9fe keyboard work with tab s8, they have same size
There is an option to light up the keyboard? Anybody knows? Thank 😊
No. Not for these keyboards. You would have to buy a third party keyboard like The Dexnor
I agree. The Slim cover angle on your lap is not ideal.
Yeah. The angle isn't great on your lap
Do the keyboard buttons scratch the screen?
Not in my experience, but I'd put a tempered glass screen protector on just in case, might as well
@@AndroidDigest where you get that size screen protector?
Does tab S9 or S8 plus has better battery and efficiency?? Is it worth trading S8plus for S9?
Already commented on one of your previous posts about it. Very very long comment so check it out there, but my answer was it depends
Will this s9 covers work with tab s8 as well?
No. The cameras don't line up on the back
@@AndroidDigest okay thanks
I got the slim keyboard case for free. I' probably sell it and buy the Book Cover.
How you got for free? Im canada….I can get it for like 100 for deal they having but not free
@@Nucleus123 It's part of the promotion Samsung is running. Amazon and Best Buy have the same deal. At least in the U.S.
I hear you. At least you can get some money back. I prefer the regular book cover myself.. If you don't like it you could always return and get something like the outdoor cover and a bluetooth keyboard.
No matter where i look i cant find the book cover. Even in samsung website it is just the slim.
Check the links in the description. I've got them there.
Thankyou!
will surface pro keyboard work for s9?
Definitely not
how is the trackpad? is it very responsive ?
Can I use this cover on my s7fe?
No. The S7 FE is 12.4 inches. You can use the Tab S8 Plus cases on the S7 FE. But not the S9 keyboard or S9 Plus keyboards
Is it compatible with the s9 fe version?
Yes it is
Your production quality is insane
Thank you, honestly, I think it needs to get better, so thank you for this comment.
Will s7fe keyboard will work with s9fe
Pretty much no. It may type if you connect it at the bottom but the cameras don't function
Is this keyboard support for Samsung galaxy tab a9 plus
I need to test it soon!
@@AndroidDigest please am waiting
Hello, Do you know whether the new S9 keyboard is compatible with old s7/s8 tablet?
I'm pretty sure I covered it in the video. But it's not
Can I use my s7 keyboard cover on the s9?
Did you find an answer?
Is this keyboard compatible with regular Tab S8 11 inch one?
No. The cameras on the back don't line up
The slim is better, why:
- you don’t need trackpad because pen + touch display is way faster and more natural
- screen closer to the the hand, so easier to touch, and feel more immerse with content
- taking up less space on table, look more sleek and just right for tablet, and easier to work on the lap.
- fastest switch from typing position, to drawing positon, just detatch it from the base then lay it flat on top the keyboard, like the logitech slim folio pro
- cheaper, like a lot cheaper
The same reason i switch from magic keyboard, to logitech slim folio pro in my case, an ipad user.
Too bad samsung don’t built backlit to it.
I like your comment. Because it makes a strong case for the slim keyboard. Both cases have different audiences, thanks for sharing! I'll keep your advice in mind when I'm reviewing the Tab S10 series and talking keyboards
At 5:28... that's a weird shaped point finger...😅
Yeah, I get that a lot haha.
is s9 cases fits with s9 fe?
Yes
You are very good .
Seriously, thanks a ton
how do u connect this
Showed everything in the video.
I know this is a weird question, but has anyone tried using these keyboard covers with tab s8? will it work?
Did you watch the reviews? Lol, I talked about it.
Great, will check it out. Thanks
I bought the S9 FE for 410 US dollars. Buying a 200 dollar keyboard cover is stupid idea.
I wonder if there is a slim keyboard for s8 ultra?
I haven't seen one. But I wouldn't recommend it. You can find the book cover keyboard on eBay for the S8 Ultra for a discount right now. Even if you look for a new one. It would be roughly the same price as what a slim one would be anyway. And like I said, you could still get it new. But they technically didn't release one for the S8 Ultra. At least as far as I'm aware. And the S9 ultra one will not be compatible
@@AndroidDigest Thanks a lot for the info. I appreciate your response.
Not sure of it's worth buying a crappy keyboard-case. Why not just buy a nice mini keyboard? And have a fancy case.
Yeah I've talked about that a lot on my channel. It's a great easy to go. I love the Samsung outdoor cover+a mx keys mini or a Logitech keys2go
haha, thats smart. Didn´t think of that. Thanks for the idea, going right for research
The reason you might have a tablet and want a keyboard all the time would be if you get a "free" tablet from your phone company and don't want to buy a separate laptop lol
Thethick one ca also beusedsimultaniously with notepaperscreenprotector
is s9 fe compatible with s9 keyboard?
Yes it is! That's why I changed the title to include the fe
What about fe plus?@@AndroidDigest
U look like drake
I've heard that before!
Thank you.. can not use a Keyboard without it being back lit.
I don't blame you, a good work around is just using a Samsung Outdoor Cover (gives you the kickstand) and it is also more protective, and then you just get a bluetooth keyboard on the side. Then you can travel with it, when you want to, but use a kickstand and have something light when you don't want that.
does it word on s8
Gotta watch the video dude 🤣
I Think You Read My Mind😂, I Want A Review On Keyboard Cover And Slim Keyboard Cover
Mine too 😂😅
Glad I could help.
Are the S9 covers backwards compatible with the S8?
No. S8 keyboard works with S9. Back kickstand won't fit due to different cameras. But it won't go the other way around. Keyboard won't work from the S9 to S8
Thats crazy. Mine is backlit
Do you have the Ultra?
I ask samsung customer service and was told s9 does not have keyboard
🤣🤣🤣 Samsung customer service is stupid. They don't know what they are doing
Microsoft Surface Pro Keyboard are $130 & tha Alcantara Keyboard are $160.
I agree. I wish we had those options here.
The fact that samsung is charging an arm and a leg for the book cover keyboard WITHOUT BACKLIGHTING???? Samsung wtf are you doing bro 😂😂 This should be a f*cking crime
surface pros keyboards for android ???? bad comparison
I've got to keep it real. They could bring similar technology here. Those keyboards are great quality, and cheaper. So not afraid to bring them up. But I respect your opinion.
Correction the keyboard is having backlight
No backlight on the S9 book covers. But there is backlighting on the S9 Ultra keyboard.
graciass
Thank you!
Too expensive
I don't blame you
Really...Really...Really...
Really really 😂
