I originally thought Breaking bad was the greatest series until I Watched the Sopranos for the first time. James Gandolfini as Tony Soprano is the most iconic Character I have ever seen in a television series. The psychology of Sopranos was way ahead of its time!!! 10 out of 10!!!
@@roger4729 tony soprano is definitely one of the best characters of all time easily. My favorite tv character is dexter Morgan but tony soprano is just as great of a character, and so is Walter white
@annabelle: You can call me whatever you like, but it does not change the truth in my statement, and nor do I care. Whether Sopranos is better than Breaking Bad is subjective, they are both great works of art and one coming before/influencing the other doesn’t make it any more great. I actually prefer The Wire over both. By the way, you don’t put 15th year old, that is incorrect grammar, put either 15 year old, or just spell out fifteen because your grammar was incorrect.
Sopranos is like lots of mini-series running at the same time. Many of the crew and 'side characters' had their own solo-plots and where explored in detail. Breaking Bad is really simplistic in comparison. Compare Walts family to Tony's.
@@youarealwayscorrect Game of Thrones was stellar television for the first 4 seasons to be fair. By the end it shouldn't be anywhere near BB or Sopranos because it was as if children were writing it
@@youarealwayscorrect The books yes, they have a huge amount of storylines and are amazing and I don't thing GRRM knows how to finish it. The show had so much left out though, I think the writing was just really poor.
Story lines was the weakest part of Soprano's, half of them were never even completed. BB's drama was as thick as a well written novel with clues and red herrings misleading the viewer and the characters themselves. Sopranos was just simple in comparison.
I disagree, breaking bad is incredibly derived and just a lesser version of the ideas from The sopranos/weeds/the wire etc. Soooo often my immersion is ruined, walt is the only even semi realistic character and the plot is ruined by lucky accidents and unrealistic plot lines.
@@AnnaKuznetzova88 lucky accidents? bruh i prefer the sopranos to breaking bad if im being honest but you are straight lying to yourself if you’re saying what you call lucky accidents dont also happen in the sopranos.
@@jasonwistaff BB ending is very good, very straight forward and satisfying for the fans. But the Sopranos ending was on another level. More than ten years later we are still debating what happened on that restaurant table. The editing, the camera work, the references on earlier seasons ("it will come at three o'clock"), it's brilliant. A truly original work of art.
Yeah, but Quality-wise Breaking Bad is far superior. Sopranos is great, but wen't downhill after season 3. Breaking Bad was perfect from start to finish.
@@leandrobesevic4424 idk if It's opinion. Sopranos has lots of plot holes and inconsistency and really slow pacing, not to mention the series dropped in quality after season 3. Breaking Bad reamained flawless from start to finish, having no inconsistency, no plot holes, and pacing was perfect - and unlike Sopranos, Breaking Bad got better each season.
I would say that Better Call Saul makes Breaking Bad that much more compelling. It retroactively makes so many Gus, Mike and Saul scenes so much more complex, and Walter is already one of the most complex characters alongside Tony, having the best character development of any other on TV.
I honestly don't think it's even close just from what The Sopranos accomplishes in terms of character depth. But I'll say Breaking Bad has amazing characters and a story that strings you along more entertainingly. I understand why some prefer BB, but both objectively as a series and subjectively as an art piece, I think The Sopranos is unmatched. This is being hyper-critical though, I've watched them both multiple times and love Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad has absolutely no flaws at all. The story is perfect from begining to end. The Sopranos might be a deeper series with a better character study in Tony Soprano, however it doesn't have the same writing genius of Breaking Bad...Everything was connected and was tought out, it was just perfect
Sopranos is definitely more of a study of its characters over time, where Breaking Bad set out to tell a specific story from start to finish. They have different objectives from the first moment. They're both great. Breaking Bad executes itself perfectly, but Sopranos challenges the audience a lot more rather than using cliffhangers or direct tension to appeal to the viewer. I love both shows so much they're the top 2, but it isn't close for me that sopranos is number 1 by a lot. @@biggusdickus9000
Two amazing shows. Breaking bad had a lot more action but the Sopranos was A LOT more realistic, was crafted a lot better, was more artistic and deep, and had more comedic parts in my opinion.
artistic and deep?? What planet are yo uliving on? There was NO character arc hardly at all for Tony S. BB arc is off the charts. Those characters truly changed throughout the masterful series. The sopranos is like watching watered down versions of God father movies.
Maybe more artistic, but not nearly as complex and well planned out. Every part of Breaking Bad was predetermined. They are both definitely top 2 shows though.
@@gaiseric9518 That's just not true. It's VERY intricate I suspect you watched a few episodes and got bored. "every part was predetermined". Yeah it's called WRITING A SHOW. Every time in the Sopranos when there is some subtle clue thats revealed later in another season everyone freaks out and goes "what great writing!" (btw I agree with that) but what is THAT other than EVERYTHING BEING PREDETERMINED?? Yeah it would be cool if the actors just sort of made up their lines but no the writers have figured out everything in advance. The shows are completely different. In breaking bad this guy is struggling with his conscience. That's sort of the whole point of the show. In the sopranos nobody really has a conscience. Walter White at the end of the last season could just easily slip into the sopranos in episode 1 season 1 with the whole "moral dilemna" behind him. Breaking Bad is like "How can this guy avoid getting 'into the life' at all costs"? Sopranos is kind of like "ok if you were ALREADY in this life what would happen"? Breaking bad is deep vertically in terms of relationships between characters, chartacter arcs, etc. Sopranos is complicated horizontally. There's not that much character arc but there are more complicated situations, plot twists, betrayals, reveals, etc. Micahel Imperioli said he watched a couple of episodes of breaking bad and said "I don't get what the hype is about". Well, of course. If you are expecting someone to get whacked every episode Breaking Bad is going to seem pretty boring. I'm sure in episode 2 he was probably thinking "what's the big deal just whack the dude? What's he waiting for?" It's apples and oranges. Breaking Bad has more vertical depth and is more emotionally engaging, you really care about the characters. Sopranos more horizontally complex, subtle and interesting with of course a lot more gratutious violence. But you don't really care about the characters as much and that, to me, is the biggest difference.
@@chazsmith20 Breaking Bad didn't have the same filler that the Sopranos had. They never stumbled on their storyline. It was consistent. Everything being planned beforehand is not for a show maybe you misunderstood me and took it as a season being planned or a few episodes being planned beforehand by actors. I mean the entire story is connected throughout without any missteps or filler episodes to fill in the cracks. You are trying to be pedantic and dumb down what I am saying, speaking arrogantly caps when you either are one just lying about how most TV shows are told or two completely misrepresented what I said.
@@chazsmith20 What??? Did you just say that there was no character arc in the sopranos? That means you missed the ENTIRE point of the show and you have zero authority to even have an opinion on the subject. The entire point was that he can't change, that he was a purely evil man who therapy couldn't help. Breaking bad is just a watered down sopranos for people with zero attention span to listen to subtlety and mannerisms.
Both shows are great. Breaking bad is a masterclass in storytelling. Sopranos is a work of art. Personally, I prefer sopranos. It gets better with each rewatch, whereas I have no desire to rewatch breaking bad except a few specific episodes.
I love 'em both but BB could be cartoonishly over-the-top at times (see "2 cousins in shiny suits walking in slow motion away from an exploding truck" or "jellied human remains crashing through a ceiling," etc). Sopranos was grounded, always had both feet in reality. The plausibility made it that much more gripping, IMO.
I think I agree...I just dont know if my favorite is Breaking Bad or The Sopranos...but I have to agree that the place of best ever has to be with The Sopranos...nevertheless, 2 greatest shows ever (no, I wont say 'except maybe The Wire'...)
@Rodycaz that's a very good point and you're probably right. I'd only attempt justify my point by saying that I work in the field of design where there are objective outcomes relative to intended function -- the same could be applied to TV production. The showrunner has an intended narrative and *functionally* the cinematography, screen writing, acting, score, lighting etc etc can support and enhance that narrative effectively or ineffectively in a (somewhat) objective manner.
@@adamray8371 Oh, I get the sopranos completely it's just about propagating homophobia, racism, and misogyny, some of the acting is weak at best and is just stereotypical ambushing of Italian people, after getting to the 5th season I'm glad I'm not italian and in fact the most interesting part so far is the commentary of tony sopranos neighbours and the way Italian people are perceived by society becouse of the actions of criminals and gangsters.

I highly doubt he cares what I say about Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad was great. It’s easily in my top ten, but yes, I think The Sopranos was much better, which is in my top five. Bryan Cranston is a great actor, I liked him before he was on Breaking Bad. Aaron Paul had a lot of great scenes, the cinematography was top notch, the use of music in the show is some of the best I’ve ever seen, and other shows would do well to take notes. I think most of the people who defend Breaking Bad so fiercely are the Twitter and Netflix crowd, who have never even heard of The Sopranos. You know, on account of the show ending before they were even born. Was Breaking Bad great? Yes, absolutely. I’d go as far as saying it was almost perfect. Is it my personal, completely subjective opinion that The Sopranos was better? Yes, it is. Apologies for the long reply.
Where Sopranos fails compared to Breaking Bad? Mike and Gus. That's where. Even with so many other characters in Sopranos, Christopher is the only one who gets a strong arc. All others are minor compared to Tony. Where as Mike and Gus become part of the soul of the Breaking Bad along with Walt and Jesse. Mike being the neutral evil and Gus being chaotic evil.
I just wasted 20 minutes of my life. The people who hate The Sopranos ending still don't realize David Chase wacked us! Giving us a definitive ending would've been too easy; it's been done time and time again. In real life, we don't always get what. Things don't always go as planned.
I believe it was Tony who got whacked. The audience was granted view into the sopranos world as long as Tony lived. When Tony got whacked it just ended right there. I think Chase was trying to change it up by giving us a view into Tony's world. When Tony was no longer able to experience what happens next the audience is also unable to experience what happens next. So in a way both Tony and the audience were whacked.
@@williammullinax6130 of course he got whacked. Watch the last few episodes again, its pretty damn obvious. They even mention the sudden cut to black when you get killed.
I love Breaking Bad, but the Sopranos was brilliant. It was the dynamic between his home life and the family with episodes that took looks at aspects in Italian American culture. It just felt like each episode was gold.
Both amazing shows, as a whole I think the Sopranos is absolutely untouchable. However, Ozymandias is the greatest hour of TV I've ever seen, I wish I could forget all of Breaking Bad just to relive the feeling of seeing everything collapse so dramatically for Walt. But both are phenomenal shows.

I’ve seen Breaking Bad probably like 8 times, it’s my favorite show and the show that taught me to appreciate drama, cinematography, writing. I just finished The Sopranos for the first time and wow, it’s one of the best things I’ve ever seen, I might have to revalue my top. I will give my personal opinion here: Characters: Breaking Bad < The Sopranos Narrative/storyline/consistency: Breaking Bad > The Sopranos Themes/depth/philosophies: Breaking Bad The Sopranos Acting: Breaking Bad = The Sopranos Tension/climaxes/action/thrills: Breaking Bad > The Sopranos Soundtrack(I like both but) Breaking Bad > The Sopranos Dialogue, complexity, and subtlety: Breaking Bad < The Sopranos Being relatable and making me reflect on my own life: Breaking Bad < The Sopranos Accessibility and easier to enjoy: Breaking Bad > The Sopranos Innovation/Influence/importance: Breaking Bad
This is a great comment the people arguing aren’t being smart both shows are at the top along with the wire I would say any of those shows is reasonable to put as best show sopranos is my personal favorite but breaking bad the first watch there’s nothing like it each does things better but both are masterpieces
I would agree with everything here except acting. The acting on The Sopranos is just holy crap... Breaking bad has more of these "epic" scenes where characters have the opportunity to show a lot of emotion which they do fantastically. However, the subtle acting of the Sopranos is much better than Breaking Bad's and the actors show more subtlety as that is the nature of the show. I also think that when these big moments happen in The Sopranos they're more beliavable as the acting is more understated and realistic, even if they aren't as much of a spectacle. The way the scripts differ makes the acting in the Sopranos more believable. Breaking Bad has a lot of movie writing, while The Sopranos is choc-full of jokes and banter which just makes it so organic and authentic. The Sopranos makes you forget that you're watching actors and it's so effortlessly funny. Your point about the climaxes being better and more satisfying in Breaking Bad rings true, but doesn't really hurt the Sopranos. The Sopranos is the art of the anti-climax. The show shys away from having big climaxes, which both grounds it in reality and makes it far more satisfying in the end as a whole story and far more rewatchable because it doesn't rely on them. It also makes it unpredictable on first watch. Creating a great story without a lot of huge moments is such an impressive and subversive feat of writing that I just have to give it to The Sopranos. All in all, Breaking Bad is great, but The Sopranos is unmatched imo.
It's really hard to choose. I love both shows so much. If I had a gun to my head and absolutely had to pick, I think I would go with Breaking Bad. I think it kept my attention just a little bit more than Sopranos did while watching but again, it's close af
Most people are going to choose breaking bad bc on top of being well acted it's written and edited in a way that drives the action forward. There aren't many loose ends, it's always "what's the next plot point?" Sopranos doesn't do that. It takes its time and doesn't spell things out for you. People still don't know if Ralph killed the horse. The dreams Tony has about his mother, or his coma, are never explained in plain terms; David Chase and co want you to make up your own mind about the events of the series. Some fans find that type of ambiguity frustrating but I think it motivates more rewatches and analysis.
Sopranos was sloppy with too many characters that were killed off unrealistically. Tony was too hefty and sluggish to be feared. He would have been clowned in real life and buried in a piano case.
Breaking Bad has that kind of fans either, and that's something that everyone should to admit, but also is fun that when there are people who think that in The Sopranos has nothing like that, besides I have seen that in The Sopranos when someone insults someone who didn't like the series there are people who justifies the insult.
Two absolutely phenomenal shows. In my opinion, Breaking Bad is the greatest TV show ever, but when someone tells me that The Sopranos is better, it’s nearly impossible to argue with them. I can’t say that about any other show in comparison to BrBa. The Sopranos raised the bar for television excellence, kicking off a golden age for the small screen, and showing people how good TV can truly be. The only argument I can really make for BrBa being better is how both shows ended. While I liked the way The Sopranos ended, there’s no doubt it was highly polarizing and many people didn’t understand what had just happened. Meanwhile I think Breaking Bad stuck the landing better than any show I’ve ever seen, one of the most satisfying conclusions to a series I’ve ever seen.
Yeah comparing finales alone Breaking Bad wins for sure, but comparing the entire body of work it's gotta be Sopranos. It's truly a masterpiece of television. JG's performance as Tony is unmatched in media.
Tony soprano is much more badass than Walter white.. the sopranos series has the most badass tv characters... But the most badass character is Mike in breaking bad
Imma have to disagree on that. The most badass moments of Tony are mostly him acting on pure violent impulse. Compare this to Walter's premeditated, elaborately planned shenanigans where he gets the upper hand in situations where he was otherwise powerless. Far more memorable and badass.
I've seen BB first, it came out when I was in school, and I really liked it. Then I saw BCS and I liked it even more, but then I've finally watched Sopranos and The Wire and now I just laugh at those poor souls who still think BB is the pinacle of TV.
For me it’s The Sopranos. I love Breaking Bad and I think the reason your twitter pole was more breaking bad is because I’ve found that there are far less people that even know about The Sopranos. Probably because Breaking Bad is on Netflix and The Sopranos isn’t.
@@Vipul6190 nah nothing like that I consider breaking bad to be S trier as well but its top 5 imo. Arguably top 3 also but I sort of give the edge to Mad Men. Even though it may not be as popular as brba its still on that level in terms of quality and arguably even better depending on what type of show you prefer.
This is my opinion: *Breaking Bad≈Scarface *The Sopranos≈The Godfather All of them are GREAT series/movies but The Sopranos and The Godfather are *Masterpieces* in their media. Breaking Bad and Scarface are funny with a lot of action but sacrificing a lot in terms of plot depth and only a bunch of characters are truly interesting. The Sopranos and The Godfather are more slow paced but with a lot of depth characters and plot development giving an amazing experience at the end of each season. Again, both are great series but The Sopranos is a referent even for the creation Breaking Bad.

@@alvarortega01 I agree sopranos is better, but the fact that you say breaking bad is overrated proves that you don't know how to watch shows, breaking bad is great and powerful so is sopranos except sopranos is better imo
By pure influence, no show comes close to The Sopranos, and no show will ever will. It's impact wasn't only on storytelling itself, but what can be told in the "small screen." People nowadays may never watch Citizen Kane, but more than a dozen generations of movies were build on top of what Citizen Kane accomplished in the 40's, it's the same way with Sopranos's impact on television. But.. when you see many comments here dismissive towards Breaking Bad, it's quite depressing. BB earned to be TOGETHER with The Sopranos and The Wire among the greatest shows ever made in television. And all this talk about the show not be even close, I just don't quite see it. Breaking Bad was innovative in showing a transformation of a seemingly good character to an incredible complex villain, while having a more linear and conclusive storytelling. There was a beginning, a middle and an ending in Breaking Bad. Each one better than the previous one.
Personally I can't pick a winner. They are fairly similar in ways, but where they differ most is the tention. In Sopranos there is very little tention and watching the lifes of these mob bosses is interesting enough. It doesn't need an ending. You can bingewatch scenes or clips on youtube and be entertained. For Breaking Bad the tention is a big part of what keeps you engaged. You wonder how Walter is getting himself out of his troubles. This gives the show some clear highlights, but it is less amazing a second time as you know what is going to happen which makes the tension is greatly diminished. But both are masterpieces to me.
Let me tell ya a couple of three things: They are too different to be compared, but The Sopranos is the best Television Show. Those who want respect. Give Respect.
Shame, Breaking Bad didn't even have as great characters as Paulie, Silvio, Junior Soprano, Phil, Johnny Sacrimoni, Richie and ralphie. I won't even mention about female characters. The Sopranos is much better show in every aspect, that comparison is a joke!
Saul, Gus Fring, Mike, Jesse, Walt, Hank... Doesn't have better characters? I Don't think So. Sopranos better at everything? Lol. Maybe at writing-but only in first 3 seasons, after 3th season Sopranos dropped a lot in quality - too much Talking about nothing, slow pacing wich felt really boring at Times, many plot holes, weak side characters, unifinished plot lines, and the inconsistency of Story - Is Tony trying to get out of Mob Buisness, or deal with His enemies? Breaking Bad had far superior : story and plot, use of music, better acting, better dialogue (that always fits the situation), much better pacing, far superior cinematography, camera work and editing, better humor, more shock value, more consistency, better Way to tell a story, more rewatchability and tension, better action and motives, more depth and better use of sombolism, better style. And - Sopranos is nothing original. It was highly inspired by movies like "Godfather" and "Godfellas" - It's a soap opera of Mafia. We already seen stuff like this a lot. Breaking Bad's story is something New, something fresh wich was never been seen before - Chemistry Teacher after being diagnosed with cancer starts Meth buisness to provide for his family, slowly turning into monster and losing everything, the show teaches about humanity and does it poeticaly, teaching about morals and weak spirit of humans. Sopranos is like 8/10 Breaking Bad is easy 10 - flawless. Nothing in Breaking Bad was left to waste like in Sopranos.

the sopranos ending was one of the most iconic depictions of death of all time. people still argue about to even this day. it’s a reflection of life and how sometimes there are no endings where everything is wrapped up. the ending was a masterclass in editing and direction.
Breaking Bad was better in nearly every category. Cinematic and innovative, while Sopranos was blase' TV movie level. BB had stronger actors and characters at nearly every level. Writings was the best. Never bought a obese lumbering Tony as a tough guy, or Paulie Walnuts as anything more than a circus clown. Sopranos had some get episodes, but also a great deal of filler. As far as series climax, BB owned it.
Breaking bad can also do what The Sopranos ending did. Just black it out at the end for Walt (death) and start formulating all your own theories for your own satisfaction ending (and call that art) just saying 🤷
I think sopranos not because it moulded shows like breaking bad, but it’s ending. Yes of course breaking bad will always be iconic but the sopranos just has that ending that anyone can have there own opinion on it’s not a direct ending. It’s still talked about! You need to be paying close attention to truly appreciate the genius of the Sopranos as it depends on the complexity of the characters. Breaking Bad is more apparent there's not so much you notice on the 4th time watching that you haven't noticed the first couple times. I love both but Sopranos take the win for me.

Breaking bad is more emotional and more enjoyable and the ending of Breaking bad was way better than The Sopranos' ending. Imo Breaking bad is better, Imo Breaking bad is the best Tv show ever.
The Soprano family felt like a real family. I grew up around the same time as Meadow and AJ so the family scenes really hit home for me. The Sopranos is unique as it didn't try to be a traditional show. It was just the life of Tony Soprano, his family, and his "family." Major plot points weren't contrived for the purpose of entertaining the audience. Breaking Bad, on the other hand, went to extremes: Walt blowing out the windows of Tuco's apartment, Walt blowing up a hospital ward to eliminate Gus (who walks out with half his body blown out), the planes crashing mid-air, the assassin dropping his gun to grab an axe to make Hank's death more brutal, the conveniently placed machine gun turret in the finale, etc. I felt the show relied on cheesy plot devices that ruined my immersion of the world they created. Don't get me wrong, its a great show. Bryan Cranston and Jonathan Banks are fantastic. I just don't think the show is in the same league as The Sopranos or The Wire.
The cartel in real life are actually like that and would make deaths of enemy much more brutal, the machine gun works that way in real life too it was tested in mythbuster and mid place crash also makes sense
The Sopranos makes the viewer a fly on the wall of a world that feels almost too fictional in how old school it is. Breaking Bad spooks its viewer by putting them in the shoes of the anti-hero, and taking them by the hand to a depraved place by stripping Walt of his morality one trauma at a time. The audience was never supposed to like Tony, but they are meant to like, and then turn against Walt. And there's so much subjectivity in exactly where that point is, and thats why breaking bad is great
wrong, i think what separates the sopranos is the therapy sessions. yes, we all love mafia epics & they’re classic but never had we delved into the head of a mob boss so explicitly. imo BrBa is technically flawless, like the godfather it’s a 10/10. personally though, i think the sopranos is even better (without taking anything away from BrBa, the sopranos is better than perfect like godfather part II.) and i think the deciding factor was the therapy sessions. we got an interior perspective of tony. regardless though the two greatest pieces of tv anyone will ever watch & both are masterpieces in their own right. at the end of the day it’s subjective as to which is superior. for me it’s the sopranos, only by the slightest of margins though.

You dont "think" something is objective, thats still your opinion
Sopranos is definitely more of a study of its characters over time, where Breaking Bad set out to tell a specific story from start to finish. They have different objectives from the first moment. They're both great. Breaking Bad executes itself perfectly, but Sopranos challenges the audience a lot more rather than using cliffhangers or direct tension to appeal to the viewer.
I love both shows so much they're the top 2, but it isn't close for me that sopranos is number 1 by a lot. @@biggusdickus9000
@@biggusdickus9000That's like your opinion man.
What's he waiting for?"
It's apples and oranges. Breaking Bad has more vertical depth and is more emotionally engaging, you really care about the characters.
Sopranos more horizontally complex, subtle and interesting with of course a lot more gratutious violence. But you don't really care about the characters as much
and that, to me, is the biggest difference.
@@chazsmith20 Breaking Bad didn't have the same filler that the Sopranos had. They never stumbled on their storyline. It was consistent. This is a great way to put it.

Most people are going to choose breaking bad bc on top of being well acted it's written and edited in a way that drives the action forward. There aren't many loose ends, it's always "what's the next plot point?"
Sopranos doesn't do that.
We know that ralphie killed the horse. He basically admitted it and Sopranos spell out much more things than breaking bad do
the sopranos surely has the most aggressive fans who keep screaming on social media that it is better, which breaking bad doesnt have
Breaking Bad has that kind of fans either, and that's something that everyone should to admit, but also is fun that when there are people who think that in The Sopranos has nothing like that, besides I have seen that in The Sopranos when someone insults someone who didn't like the series there are people who justifies the insult.

Also in better call Saul
You sure about that
Imma have to disagree on that. The most badass moments of Tony are mostly him acting on pure violent impulse. Compare this to Walter's premeditated, elaborately planned shenanigans where he gets the upper hand in situations where he was otherwise powerless. Far more memorable and badass.

This is my opinion:
*Breaking Bad≈Scarface
*The Sopranos≈The Godfather
All of them are GREAT series/movies but The Sopranos and The Godfather are *Masterpieces* in their media.

Sopranos > Breaking Bad
Breaking bad never gave anywhere close the the broad range of emotion that sopranos did. Paulie is TV God's gift to man.
I'd have to disagree there. Ozymandias gets me every time.
"Ozymandias" has more emotions in it than entire Sopranos.
And there’s no better actor than James gandolfini RIP.
@@Soul56293 Brayan Cranston. He was called by Anthony Hopkins "the greatest actor he ever Saw".
I agree. In a way/this way, BCS is more similar to The Sopranos than BB ever was.
Sopranos is like The Godfather 1
Breaking bad is like Scarface

Overhyped...story goes nowhere from beginning to the end
@Nayan Jyoti Nath The sopranos' ending was lackluster, the storylines werent completed and im interested to see what those "plot holes" are
@Nayan Jyoti Nath See😂 cant even name the "plot holes" every single little detail in this show matters so much thats why you cant point them
Shame, Breaking Bad didn't even have as great characters as Paulie, Silvio, Junior Soprano, Phil, Johnny Sacrimoni, Richie and ralphie.
Sopranos is like 8/10

@@PolishGod1234 Fly is literally the only episode that is completely symbolic. Breaking Bad has a lot of symbolism, I’m sure I could name you most of them of the top of my mind, but a lot of them are about the same few themes. Innocence, Loss of innocence, guilt, getting away from your family, becoming more corrupted etc, they are all almost in the same vein. Sopranos has a lot more of them, specially with the dream sequences which are basically the real life equivalent of “symbolism”.
There are literally books that have been written just to explore the Sopranos, it’s even studied at colleges. There is soooooo much more subtexts and complexities in the writing
As someone who’s watched them both Multiple times , i can say breaking bad from the first episode to the last is writing genius . The character arcs and chemistry between the actors is something to be experienced to understand . Sopranos was absolutely amazing . Unbelievable acting , great story and awesome depiction of the mob . But there were a few filler episodes and i felt sopranos ending was weak . Breaking bad ended poetically . Breaking bad to me is 100 percent while sopranos is 9.7 . Very very close but breaking bad takes it .
the sopranos ending was one of the most iconic depictions of death of all time. people still argue about to even this day. it’s a reflection of life and how sometimes there are no endings where everything is wrapped up. the ending was a masterclass in editing and direction.
Walt may have never had the makings of a varsity athlete but he didnt take any half measures. Its possible to love both works of art the same.

Breaking Bad Absolutely crushes Both Sopranos and Better Call Saul. BrBa was perfect and enteraining from start to finish, Sopranos was medicore after season 3,and Better Call Saul was really slow in seasons 1-4.
@@PolishGod1234 do all shows need to be fast paced??? People like u miss the whole objective of Btr Call Saul... Btr call Saul's priority is not pace or the ending because the ending has already been established in Breaking Bad. Thus, BCS is all about building up storylines, plots and slowly and gradually connect and weave all of the plots together. In BB, Walt enters an already established and fully functioning empire...5 seasons of BB and Walt could barely manage to run his own one-man empire properly for a substantial duration and that too he didn't even handle the distribution end, then think of the time and effort behind the establishment of such a huge huge drug trade empire involving the Mexicans, the Mexican Cartel and Fring, and the work that goes to maintain that. That's why it is slow....and moreover the transition from Jimmy to Saul is much more deep and subtle than the transition from Walt to Heisenberg. That's why it is slow paced. The acting and character development is absolutely top notch and that's why I've no complaints against BCS and prefer it to Breaking Bad.
And there's so much subjectivity in exactly where that point is, and thats why breaking bad is great
Wrong, we were tricked into liking Tony,
wrong, i think what separates the sopranos is the therapy sessions. yes, we all love mafia epics & they’re classic but never had we delved into the head of a mob boss so explicitly. imo BrBa is technically flawless, like the godfather it’s a 10/10. personally though, i think the sopranos is even better (without taking anything away from BrBa, the sopranos is better than perfect like godfather part II.) and i think the deciding factor was the therapy sessions. we got an interior perspective of tony. regardless though the two greatest pieces of tv anyone will ever watch & both are masterpieces in their own right. at the end of the day it’s subjective as to which is superior.
for me it’s the sopranos, only by the slightest of margins though.
