Eeey @SpunkyBoyy I have a question!! Hope you can help me.. For the FI light you mentioned that some older bikes you can unplug some cable from the ECU … You have any idea what cable is it?? Thanks bro! And keep on rolling!! 🤘🏻👽
WTF. I bought my K7 1000 brand new years ago. I immediately installed a full Ti M4 GP-style exhaust, but don't remember disconnecting any exhaust cables. No FI light, only one from removing the stock steering stabilizer, and installing a Scotts . Gonna have to look into it now. Thanks, subbed!
What’s the benefit of removing this exhaust valve? Is it better without it or with it and if I remove it, is there anything I should be concerned about? Still learning about bikes, thanks
You don’t have to do it, but when u have a after market exhaust system it’s pretty much pointless to have. Removing it will give u a little bit better throttle response and it will make it louder.
So for clarificaiton, if i install the midpipe and add servo buddy, i shouldnt have check engine light? I have m4 slip on w muffler right now (no engine light) and plan to decat and remove set valve, I would need servo to prevent check engine light.
Correct, you wont have the light on with a servo buddy, but the better option is to get the bike tuned, because ur going to need it anyways and that will turn the light off. So, you don’t need to buy a servo buddy. Hope that helps!
@@GrismaandRishi unfortunately you DO have to lift the tank, but not necessarily take it off. I was scared too, don't worry.. remove the two bolts so you can first take off the seat, then the two bolts for the tank, then simply lift the tank up carefully and put something there to hold it up. Good luck brother.
Hey, I heard that it backfires/pops while decelerating. Have you experienced that before you removed the catalizator? I saw you had an M4 slip-on for a while with the cat still on. I am about to buy slipon but I will leave the cat, just wondering if there is going to be that awesome pops with cat still on. ")
No if u just get the slip on and don’t remove the cat it won’t backfire. You don’t want excessive backfiring, it means the air/fuel mixture is off. When u remove the cat it leans it out, so it needs to be tuned after u install an exhaust system.
@@SpunkyBoyy Thank you. Yeah, I know that too much backfiring is not good, I was just hoping for a few deceleration pops sometimes. Who knows, maybe I even decide to go full system after, still I will have my slipon to begin with.
Hey, man I’m looking to decat and do the same thing you did here, as well as a high flow filter. What time did you get as well as what options? I’m thinking Moore mafia
I got my ECU flashed that’s gonna be the cheapest option, but a very good one..Moore Mafia will be ur best bet. I just had a local tuning shop near my house flash the ecu, and that worked out fine for me. You can also get a power commander which is going to be similar to a flash only difference is you have the actual power commander that goes in the back of the bike and it gives u some more options and you can also go back to the stock map with the power commander. Custom tune is going to be the most expensive and the best option but if ur just planning on riding it on the street a flash should do the trick. Completely up to you tho hope that helps and good luck!
@@SpunkyBoyy Thanks man I went with Moore Mafia sent it out thurs morning got it back saturday afternoon. Went with the same mid pipe and did the servo delete as well thanks man!
Just get a flash or a tune and it will clear all the codes. If you have an older Gsxr u can pull out set valve wire that goes into the ecu and it will turn off the light, but the best option is just to get a tune
Your bike being "tuned" as nothing to do with the light. The light didn't come on because,as you said, you didn't remove the servo motor. The ecu doesn't see the valve itself,it see the servomotor. So if you leave the servomotor on the bike the puller still acts like the valve it's connected, the pulley is not very smart lol
it will throw a code even leaving the motor… without the cables on the motor there is no resistance, causing the motor to turn too far, and it will throw a code. So yes you need a tune you can’t just leave the motor without any cables in it

not sure if your bike still has it under the rear seat but these bikes come with a tank prop to hold the tank up when working under there.
Stay strong 💪 Spunk-dawg and thanks for continuing to educate us bikers. Peace Bro 😎
Of course! Thanks for watching
Appreciate the video! Gonna skim through some more to see what other knowledge you imparted to us!
Appreciate the video bro actually watched your video to get my set valve off

Could we in theory just cut the cables? And leave the motor in?
What wire do you pull for a 2003 Suzuki gsxr 1000 I have a full titanium yoshimura exhaust and now FI light

This is a good question
Appreciate the content keep up the great videos 💪🏾💪🏾
Thanks!
Will I still need the ecu flash if I'm putting a power commander on it?
What ecu flash did you end up going with?
Whats the reason for removing the set valve and is it needed after decatting?
You don’t have to do it, but when u have a after market exhaust system it’s pretty much pointless to have. Removing it will give u a little bit better throttle response and it will make it louder.
If you get headers you’ll have to remove it, but if you just decat the bike you don’t have to, but I recommend that you do.
What did you put in the set valve holes? I have a bike where the set valve is token out and nothing is in the holes.
Thanx a lot for this video 👍✌️
No problem
sup bro, whats the technical purpose of doing this modification? and generally what issues can it cause?
No issues. Removing the valve makes the throttle input instant instead of the delay. Get it tuned once you do this though
Servo motor off what for if we do?
What does the set valve do?
Would this work on a 2006
did you get the computer flashed?

@@SpunkyBoyy I apologize for the multiple questions, but why would the bike need a tune if there is no FI light?
sorry also, do you NEED to remove the servo or can you just get away with cutting the exhaust wires ?
I was wondering the same thing. I think it would be easier just to cut the wires unless you’re planning on reusing them in the future.
easy job but loosening the servo motor bolts was a pain!
Any tips for it?! I’m trying to do it without taking off the gas tank

so if i’m doing a decat, should i remove the set valve too?
do i also need to remove my servo ?
certainly! and get a servo buddy to trick the ECU!
What is the point in this thing? Emissions?
no being dumb lol
should get a black widow header, bikes are safer when louder
No they’re not
