Nope, I currently rent in NC. If it’s the best you can do, it is what it is. Having owned a home while married, it’s a lot of responsibility you need to consider besides the mortgage.

Many landlords are greedy, especially large corporate ones. The right to housing or shelter should be a guaranteed right for all American citizens. I have to wonder about people who think it okay for hundreds of thousands of people in the world’s richest country to be sleeping on the streets or if lucky, in their vehicle.
Now you know why I stay at Wilkes I don’t have a choice- It’s just myself & my cat usually the last week of the month I’m eating dry cereal until payday

Paying rent is a waste here in N.C. I've own for 9 years. Rent is high because of inflation. We are paying for a war we have nothing to do with it.

There is a lot of cost in property ownership and the value goes up because of demand but making rent amounts too high is unfair to everyone.

You should budget for repairs a percentage of rent not a dollar amount.

@@andrewslife1979 10% minimum should always be held aside each month for expenses. Bigger Pockets forum many people agree with that amount
