Claiming modern maps are designed for competitive is wild. The Warzone era maps are mostly more complicated with less strict 3 lane designs, this is the opposite of competitive because it’s much more random.
The plane on Kowloon is a nod to Kowloon airport, very famous for it's approach and how low 747's and other large planes would be, skimming not much higher than the roof tops.
slums is such a horrible pick - everyone loves that map. Black ops 2 actually has like 4-5 really horrible maps: turbine, drone, aftermath, meltdown and cargo.
@@freezypop8799 I’m a respawn player too, I didn’t really get into snd until MW2019 because R6 was better than all the prior cod games at SND, then MW19 was better than R6 in my opinion. I personally just didn’t enjoy those lower tier maps on BO2 probably because of how good the upper tier maps were

Aftermath wasnt that bad but all the other maps are better in my opinion. What is your opinion on aftermath?
I know it’s a DLC map, but I’m surprised Fuel from MW2 wasn’t chosen as the worst map from that game. For the standard maps though, I would’ve chosen Derail.
My favorite part of Fuel was the giant rock you could glitch into and shoot out of and receive nothing back. Think they pictured patched it eventually though lol

Drone was dead awful though - completely unbalanced flanks with the right flank being unplayable with all the campers. The middle of the map inside the building made for some of the most annoying and horrible gunfights I ever had on BO2. And the centre is also 'off-centre' which really bugged me. And above all that there was the fact that it was a strike mission in the campaign which is one of the worst things they ever added in any campaign, those missions were terrible. Cargo is equally as annoying but probably not as bad on paper. There's just way to many camping spots, unbalanced flanks again with the right side being infested with campers in the building and the left side always being empty because there's someone camping in the cargo ready to kill you. The middle of the map was also a wasteland with no cover. Just never a fun map. Aftermath is self-explanatory: one of the worst maps in COD history, God knows what they were thinking. And then turbine on paper isn't a bad idea, but its just way to big making anything besides a sniper unviable. And for 5v5 its just too big for BO2, and the middle of the map being like 50ft below in elevation compared to rest means no one ever even went there because they'd just get beamed by the bridge. The flanks were fun on that map but if someone was hardscoping there was literally no counter.
Wasteland was one of my favorite map of MW2 (as someone who like to play Sniper) but i have to agree that Underpass was not a good map but not as mutch as Invasion in my opinion. And for those who don't know (or forget), Wasteland was first released on Cod 2.
Ghosts was underrated and overhated. Stonehaven was a shot at being like battlefield, it didnt work out thats why we havent saw anything similar. It wasn't a terrible map it was just a bit empty for its size. Ghosts had plenty of fun maps though.
Marksman is literally not lying tbf mate. As the other comment said, sales doesn't account for the longevity of a game. It had high sales but a lot of the player base (me included) went back to MW2 the most of the year and just used Black Ops for zombies

Satellite was good as hell. Miami is the map I hated in CW, my group of friends hated that map so much that we always call a map we don't want to play a Miami. As in "Back out, Red Card is a Miami"

I get why people hated Wasteland on MW2, but I always had a blast with it. It was always a fight for that underground intersection where the tunnels met up. Which team could hold it longer? I know some people would call that camping, but it just worked with the flow on that map for whatever reason.
Ghosts: Stonehaven was just too big. It needed more players. I want remasters of some of these maps like Warhawk and Octane. Also, the customization of loadouts was so good. So good! People could fine tune their classes to their play style nearly perfectly. Ghosts was ahead of its time, and I enjoyed it so much during the jetpack era.
The purpose of border crossing- a couple of the devs watched Sicario and thought it was badass, wanted to recreate that feel. Unfortunately, the map design was terrible. (This is conjecture, not for certain, but I feel like it was definitely Sicario inspired)
That one BO2 map with the wind turbines was my least favorite. There was a room with a ladder that people camped in it was annoying, also a big map if i remember
Vanguard the best WW2 CoD? I almost punched my screen for that statement. I skipped Vanguard and till this day, whenever I go through the games section of any store and I see Vanguard, I put it somewhere else, where nobody can find it.
Mw2 had such crisp gunplay, especially for its time, but it's just a shame that the average match was dominated by killstreaks and some of the more egregiously obnoxious things (one man army tubes, etc)

There were three ways to get into the building in Array. You could climb the boxes stacked under the windows then shoot or smash the windows and climb in. I loved Array it was an all around map.
I guess you could say 4 if you include the tunnel on the right instead of going up the spiralling stairs, Array was one of my favourite maps to every gamemode even party games trying to get a 360 of the tower with ballistic knives in gungame😂
I liked wasteland for the same reason you did. I remember My harrier on Ground war getting me a Nuke before I could even call in Chopper gunner I took out like 5 people with the airstrike, and the Harrier that shot people cleaned up quickly 😅

I agree. I think he's looking at these maps from a SnD viewpoint. Most people at this time played TDM so it played differently for us. Kowloon I loved (at the time the aesthetics looked amazing). Slums is a classic and theirs a reason why they keep bringing it back. Vanguard was the best WWII mp game in my op (Numa Numa was actually fun to play on with all the lanes and the mosh pit in the middle). I agree Red Card is atrocious

If we had a 12vs12 playlist stonehaven would've been solid. Ghosts did have a fair few very underrated maps and all the dlc maps were great.

Array is one of the best maps for Search & Destroy, change my mind. M16 burst shooting across map with high accuracy, it was perfect!

Santa Sena Border Crossing was a great Ground War map, arguably the best one, and they just needed to represent it in regular modes.
Advanced Warfare weapon variant system was the best thing to happen to COD that never came back. Also had the best exo suit mechanics ever. Such an overhated game

There were three ways to get into the building in Array. You could climb the boxes stacked under the windows then shoot or smash the windows and climb in. I loved Array it was an all around map.
I guess you could say 4 if you include the tunnel on the right instead of going up the spiralling stairs, Array was one of my favourite maps to every gamemode even party games trying to get a 360 of the tower with ballistic knives in gungame😂

I hate that everyone just forgets about the first cod games. I know cod 4 is the pinnacle of cod but the games that came before were amazing.

I liked wasteland for the same reason you did. I remember My harrier on Ground war getting me a Nuke before I could even call in Chopper gunner I took out like 5 people with the airstrike, and the Harrier that shot people cleaned up quickly 😅

I agree. I think he's looking at these maps from a SnD viewpoint. Most people at this time played TDM so it played differently for us. Kowloon I loved (at the time the aesthetics looked amazing). Slums is a classic and theirs a reason why they keep bringing it back. Vanguard was the best WWII mp game in my op (Numa Numa was actually fun to play on with all the lanes and the mosh pit in the middle). I agree Red Card is atrocious
