I think the reason you spawned in a completely different area which also clears up why you spawned underground is not only because of the merging of an old world and new version but also the coordinate changes of 1.18

Jordan, you spawned in a cave after porting the world, and because it started in Beta 1.9 Prerelease then ported over to 1.18, the reason why you spawned in a cave was because of 1.18's build/height limit so you most likely were at the same coordinates but it was cave coordinates in the Caves & Cliffs 1.18 version.

If a tree is made by world generation on sand it will automatically turn into dirt so there is nothing wrong

Villagers were called “TESTIFICITE” Because they were a test back then and for the function to work they needed name tags.
I am very surprised Jordan got a hold of this version. I was unable to find any valid download link on the entire internet. I literally searched for 3 hours until I just gave up.

The Glitch where you put an old world in the 1.18 Version naturally accures cause of the bigger caves and where you where spawned cause in one of the older Versions, you actually spawn with low coordinates so when you try to put that world to a new version, it Generates the new version and glitches it out but also corrupts your biome Generation

Sometimes i spawn underwater or in the air when i start a new minecraft world.
It only ever happens once each world with a pretty small chance of happening.
It is still kinda odd.

Most of this stuff is normal. TESTIFICATE was a nametag given to villagers. He probably named the world that. He spawned in a cave due to Bedrock and height limit changes inbetween 1.8 and 1.19 The black block was a glitch due to switching versions. Grass does exist in 1.19.

You spawned down below because of the coordinate changes in caves and cliffs. The level you spawned at was the closest level to the original level of the previous world.

You know if you think about it the terrain so called glitches are actually because in updates terain moves around and in the latest update they increased world height spawning him at the level he was at just the ground raised in the update which is why he respawned underground

I have something important to tell you, I heard that in every Minecraft world, you NEVER spawn on stone, and the villagers were named that because they were being tested at that time

You can spawn on stone when switching to a version with higher Build and Lower Bedrock Limit.
The Blood Wither is an entity found on the seed 139666. It resembles a Wither, but dripping with blood and a scar down its middle face.
La Ruga is an error in the game code, found on the seed 9090. It is completely grey, and its only job is to make the game impossible.
The Lich was an unfinished boss that would come out alongside the Wither. Its code was unfinished, and now it haunts the seed 131328. I think that you spawned underground is because that your world becomes deeper in the latest version of Minecraft… so the position you were in when you inputted the world into the latest version you were at the same height of the world you were in but underground…
