I love your videos 😊. In this one where you refer asking questions to suggest an action in a softer way, I would translate it as “should we..?” - “what should we eat for dinner?” As opposed to “What are we eating for dinner?” because the latter one is not as soft. Thanks!
안녕하세요 😊 좋은 질문 감사합니다. 일단 기본적으로 부모님에게 존댓말을 사용하는 것은 맞아요. 많은 가족에서는 아버지에게는 존댓말을 쓰고 어머니에게는 좀 더 편하게 말하는 경우가 많아서 어머니에게는 반말을 쓰는 경우가 흔히 있어요. 하지만 나이가 들수록 보통 부모님에게 존댓말을 하는 경우가 더 많아요.
Thanks for this. One question ... when you're using it for "right?" or "isn't it?", I noticed that you didn't always raise the tone of your voice at the end of the sentence, like you would for other questions in Korean. So if I'm just seeking agreement, I don't need to make the sentence sound like a question at the end?
Hi there, no generally Korean questions should end in a rising tone. I can't think of a Korean question form where you wouldn't. I might have just said it wrong as I was reading the script 😅
I already knew about this but this video gives me reminder about the rules using 지요 endings.....감사합니다 선생님😊😊
