  • Can you make Graphite Powder - Quick and Easy Can it be made with a NutriBullet?
    In this video I experiment with alternative ways of making Graphite Powder. There are many different ways to make Graphite Powder from shaving a Graphite Pencil to sanding a Graphite Block but these are time consuming and messy so I wondered 'could I make it using a Caran d'ACHE Graphite Block in a Pepper Grinder or in a NutriBullet?'

    Thank you for making this video, I want to experiment with graphite powder on my gel plate but have found that it is pretty expensive. I have the graphite stick so I will attempt to make some powder! Worth a try!🇨🇦

      Thank you so much. The pepper corn grinder is ideal as you can just grind out the amount you need at any one time.

    Would a coffee grinder work as well? I'm not sure how fine the graphite would be as I've never used one but it might be worth a try if you don't have a Nutribullet

      I haven't tried one myself, but I would asume so as a peppercorn grinder works well. Just make sure not to use it to grind coffe again. Thanks for the question and please let me know if it works.

      @@JamieBoots Thanks for your input ! I just tried the pepper grinder I have (that's used only for pepper) and it does a nice job of getting a fine grind with the pepper so I'll pick one up one for graphite. I was using sanding paper but it just takes too long! :)

      @@katz103 Make sure it's a peppercorn grinder as it's a bit tougher, and yes it's a lot quicker than using sandpaper .

    Would any blender work?

    • @JamieBoots
      @JamieBoots  2 месяца назад

      The one I used had a milling/grinding blade so I used that. If you are just making it for your self I would say the pepper corn grinder is a better option as you can just grind out what you want at a time. The blender was a bit of an experiment and I was surprised that it worked and obviously it can't be used as a food blender again. Also the cup has to be quite thick because you do have chunks of graphite banging around inside it so not something that I would recommend, the pepper corn grinder is a much better option and they are very inexpensive. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.

      Hi Alondra The little hand grinder in the video is for pepper corns. It was only cheep and came with the pepper corns in it but was great for grinding up graphite.

      The peppercorn grinder is definitely much quicker but you have to make sure it's a peppercorn grinder and not a pepper grinder. The NutriBullet is massively over the top but did work incredibly well. I certainly could not be bothered to use a file and I have also seen people shaving graphite blocks with a knife, which takes even longer.
