This comment goes back to your video regarding cabinet scrapers. I tried multiple times to make my card scraper work. I followed your advice step by step. I watched video's of 2 other very respected wood workers. I never succeeded in getting shavings, not once. Nothing but powder. On a lark I purchased 2 scrapers from Lie-Nielsen. These are both much thinner than the one I've had for years. My first use produced the magical curls that I've been chasing. That leads me to think that maybe some scrapers are too thick or too hard. Something worth checking? I follow each of your videos and have the greatest respect for your talent and business acumen. I like the clamp rack and now will probably build it and forget the plans I bought from you.
Scraping requires finding the right angle while also slightly bending the scraper. Thinner scrapers are easier to bend and do not fatigue the hands as much. Some very thick scrapers can be difficult to bend if you aren't used to it. You are probably just more comfortable using the thinner scraper, and so you are able to relax and feel the angel better.
I made a rack similar to your wall version several years ago. I hope you find my suggestions useful. I made mine two sided in triangle configuration then added a firm base with lock casters. The mobility saves many wasted steps while speeding the assembly process, double the storage. Love the channel.
I appreciate you looking out for smugglers in your measurement conversions. They’re an oft overlooked section of society, but damned if there not indispensable at certain key junctures.
For someone like me a single section of pipe also works. I have one that was originally a coat rack that has one end attached to a cabinet and the other end suspended by a shelf bracket that happened to be made to hold the coat rack.
@@DiegoAzuaga I don't think that was the intention. A kilo i rarely used in common parlance in the USA as far as I know. However, the plastic packages of white powder you see on crime TV shows are always 1-kg sized. And I suppose for quite a sizeable part of USA audience this would be the main reference for what a kilo looks/feels like.
I love your humour - it's almost British! Quick question: Is the shelf with all your chisels (at 0:12 in your video) bowed, or just an optical illusion?
Great video! Couple of Qs: Why did you drill the holes in the wood so much larger? Something just above 3/4" should have been sufficient? Also, I note the rack is tilted. Do you think it would work vertical? I don't have much space and am fitting my rack into an available slot front to back. Thanks!
If your conduit is bending under load, I've found that inserting a wooden dowel the same diameter as the inside of the conduit should stop most if not all of the sagging. Just this week I did that to repair a clothes cupboard where after ~55 years the 5/8 (16mm) wooden dowel sagged enough to pull out of its support holes - I drilled the holes out to 1'(25mm) and put a 7/8 (22mm) hardwood dowel inside a 1 inch (25mm) chromed tube - no noticeable sag under load.
I take offense to the term "smuggler". I'm in the import/ export business that facilitates the inventory movement for your local Street Pharmaceutical Distribution Engineer (a.k.a. "dealer") Keep up the awesome videos and if you ever make it down close to Houston, I'd love to buy you a cold one... because you deserve it!
The steel floor joist support in my basement shop supports about 200 of my clamps. I lightly clamp on the lower beam cord yielding me two rows of clamps. Every clamp style works in this arrangement. Short C clamps and Quickgrip clamps go where head height clearance is required. I low the longer clamp tails to help form a wall or barrier where I don't want foot traffic. Longer clamps are racked on the same I beam along my stairs which happen to run adjacent and parallel to the beam. My clamp inventory is approaching 250 which means that I may have 50% of my ideal target inventory number. I favor Bessey parallel jaw clamps. You have an orange brand that I don't recognize. Could you do a brand comparison? Bessey work so well that I have been timid to try other brands since brand names I consider inferior to Bessey cost about the same a Bessey. I still use Pony 3/4 pipe clamps since my parallel jaw clamp inventory is small. I padded many of them with Jorgensen/Pony plastic pads. I haven't seen these pads for sale in years. I tried Rockler brand pads, but they fit Pony clamps poorly and they split and break easily. Are Pony pads still available?
Rather than risk having the holes mismarked and misaligned, you could just clamp the 3 stringers together and drill them all at the same time...if you had a few clamps you could use for such a purpose.

Your clamp rack is an awesome idea. Thanks for sharing.
The organization of that full rack of clamps is extremely pleasing to look at.
It should settle anyone with OCD!
‘I love my Dad’. As much as I love work - I can stand and watch it for ages 😊🌞

Gotta says I missed the witty wise cracks...I think you saved them all up for this video :-) welcome back

Love the channel.
Love your humor as much as the quality info. Keep it up!

Missed the semi-seco humor from the older SN vids- thanks for bringing it back, and for the clamp rack update!
That is absolutely the largest clamp rack that I have ever laid eyes on! Well done.....👍👍
I need more clams for the rack that I am going to make sometime soon😊
Watched the video twice as it was amazing, didn't realise you had a great sense of humour 👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
"Eleventy million pounds" LMAO That's classic! Your videos are just what I need when I come home from work. Thanks.
Great idea! Been getting more clamps and running out of room and looking for ideas. Might be putting something like this in my shop.
I like. I appreciate the humor.
I giggled outloud more times that I'd like to admit to this one! Great one!
Thanks for the levity! Keep it up!
Those bora hand clamp are super powerful. They are great for small glue ups
Nice to see you doing a little work around there, for a change. 👍
Wow. You're not only a great wood worker/shop guy but a comedian too.
Thanks for the update 😀
Didnt expect that Narcotic joke on the metric system, but I love it!
Thumbs up for bringing back the old humor!
That's going to come in handy one day. Thanks for sharing!
Another enjoyable and useful presentation. Thanks.
You're not the first fan I've seen of that little q700 saw. Gonna have to put it on my wishlist.
Lots of hidden humor in this one!
For someone like me a single section of pipe also works.

Thanks for sharing those tips and the make!
Must be clamp rack day, great job stumpy, another great video. Your jokes are to die for!
Great clamp rack
Dang. Now that is a clamp rack. Wow.
I really like your channel
Fantastic work, dude! Thanks a lot! 😃
I'm going to make a much smaller one.
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
That's 5 million kilos to our European viewers and any cocaine smugglers that may be watching
That was great! Might be the first joke I've seen on this channel that actually made me laugh!
That's also about 5 million Euros worth of clamps, so you might as well use the good stuff for the pipes...
I don't understand, so here in South America are we all cocaine smugglers?

I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
Parallel clamps are expensive! I've been dabbling with John Heisz's shop-made clamps. After building a couple, they seem to work really well!
there has to be a couple grand on that wall given the lumber AND clamps involved.
Good video.
I love the humor carries more weight than that 11ty seven million pipe clamp rack.
Good idea. Thanks.
I’m going to build this with the conduit. I’ll try decreasing the length of span (have less clamps anyway) by adding a wooden center divider.

You have more invested in clamps than I do in my house! ;-)
You can send those pipe clamps on over to me whenever you want 🤣.
Great idea to make a clamp holder for myself

Many clamps naturally hook on 3/4-inch pipe without having to fully tighten the jaws.
Thanks!
Hey! Funny video and I learned something. Got to hire and old, mustached guy to …wait, that describes me!
Way outta my league!!!!!!!!!!!!! but really nice.
I cant wait till the shop im at throws out pipe clamps i am deadset on taking them!
Great video!
Glad to see you are including some jokes again!
LOL. Good video. Thanks.
Eleventy million, sounds like the "fifty leven' "weight measurement we used in the Army. 👍
Would wood dowels work instead of the pipe?
Thanks.

Use IMC in place of EMT, more structural strength. I like the design.
Tough stuff like butter!lol
As an alleged cocaine smuggler I appreciate you putting into unit I understand. Kidding, good humor in this one along w solid direction.
What if you have a small garage shop with the attitude “you can never have enough clamps?”
Eleventy Million pounds :-). I love your videos!

His clamps are Bora. Slightly cheaper than Bessey.
Sees the wall of clamps, begins breathing heavy.
Genial!
Ok but why do you store them clamps tighten ? My rack has 2 lines: one to support the heads of clamps, and second line for the second part.
Why not? They aren't fully tightened. I see no disadvantage to having the jaws like that.
Jesus you beat that old man so bad I called the police for elderly abuse.
Good to see Mustache Mike again
Wow now that's some clamps...! Didn't bother hoarding toilet paper like the rest of the world hey! 🙂
😂😂😂 Cocaine dealers PSA 👍
Love your work/wit/wisdom - keep posting the good stuff!

Stumpy, I'm leave a comment because you say you always read them.
I don't read those that try to test if I am reading.
@@StumpyNubs lol
In case……………. smuggler watching 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Wow, they say you can't have too many clamps. After seeing your arsenal I think "they" may be wrong
Nah, no such thing.... can't have too many, especially when you have a bunch of drawers to put together.
A couple of Ensures 😬😂
Hi
I don’t think people who need this kind of clamp rack are concerned about the cost
I'd love to know the total cost of all those clamps. The big ones have to be >$50 each.
yeah, the rack is way cheaper to build than the cost of even a single row of those clamps! Drool.....
So you have about 2 boxs of 9mm worth in clamps.
I paid $60 some odd dollars per sheet buying osb by the unit.
A green 2x4x8 is about $8 right now, its insane
So you're abusing Mustache Mike again I see. Glad to see your dad is up and at it still.
“Third Leg in the center”, as you show the guy in the wheelchair............you are dark :-)
The wheel chair shot was not meant that way :)
As Long as you don't mess up your third leg....
I am glad I was not drinking a cold one....
I don't like to waste those by spewing...
James as usual your patter is like water.but never the less it's great banter all the same keep up the good work.
First
It cant be so heavyI made some math and think it is maximum 4845 kilos.
Numpy Stubs you still reading every comment? 🤪
Not this one.
@@StumpyNubs lol, how you replying? You’ve stumped my nubs!

I guess it’s true, you can’t have too many drug racks. I MEAN CLAMP RACKS.
