When I was a teenager, I told my mother when we went out to buy clothes that these would probably be what I wore for most of the rest of my life. I always picked the sturdiest, most sensible, clothing and had an awful time while shopping for them. I do not like to go shopping at all unless I go with someone else or with my mother. Clothing stores and sizes are foreign to me. Did I mention I'm an INTP?
Me, an INFP: tried to use a old sneakers someone gave me for jogging, ended up with my INFJ bestfriend fetching me another pair of sneakers from our house because the soles detached before I could even start to jog. it was embarrassing but at least i used those shoes once in my life
As an INFJ: comically accurate. Did that, had peace of mind for like, 5 minutes, then had the same conclusion. Seeing my room my friend thought I was about to commit suicide tho.
Recently I started trying to adapt to minimalism, as an ENFP, so I can have fewer possessions witch makes it easier to travel and also so I can spend my money and my time focusing on experiences. So far it’s been an incredible eye opening journey. Love this video!
Well, as an ISFJ, I relate to this. I still have clothes from Junior High about 10 years ago that I don't want to get rid of because of the memories they bring.
I cannot agree more. I often think that it is far better to spend more on better quality products and consider these as long-term investments. For example, i will advice my parents to buy 4 13W LEDs rather than 6 24W CFL bulbs for our garden. Yes, LED is more expensive ($2-3more/bulb), but way more efficient while producing more luminosity intesity, not to mention that its life is way longer. If we calculate the energy consumption, say these run 8h/day => 8h x 4pcs x 13W/1000 x 30 days x 12 months = 149.76kW/year and the cost of electricity in my country, Indonesia, is $0.1/kWh (for the working class), they only have to pay $14.976/year. Compared that to 6 24W CFL bulbs, $41.472/y, my parents save $26.496/y (and that is a lot amount of money when converted to our currency, at least for me, an Indonesian).
It's attractive, but I have to keep my books. There's no point making the extra effort of getting rid of them and buying the same books on a kindle. That just feeds Amazon anyway, I use my kindle to borrow books from the library, not to feed that f*ckwad of a corporation.
@@americanbookdragon I agree with you... I'm not a minimalism, but I think it can inspire my lifestyle... I can incorporate only some aspects of it. I won't get rid of all my books either, but I choose to only buy physical copies of the ones I really like.
I did the Marie Kondo method of decluttering. The only items of clothing that “sparked” joy were the 4 pieces I hadn’t worn yet. I got rid of all the rest and I’m trying to be more selective. The INFJ part of the video hit me before I realized it was my section. When I started thinking about decluttering, I imagined myself having only my sofa, my pet, a NARS blush palette, and my keys.
16 personalities as cooks! I’m an ENFP and know everyone’s favorite flavors and recipes. I make big meals & ensure people can take home leftovers and snacks. Cooking for others is one of the most fun ways to care for people!
I'm that ENFP, in reality I'm an INFP but I want to be the person who lives in a van near the river and just spend money in lifetime memories (and food), that's the pure XXFP way of seeing things, or at least the INFP way, because the Fi wants freedom and escape from the Te world, the Ne wants to explore new perspectives and ideas and the Si wants memories and a place to live.
Honestly, all of us are just a mixture of things, traits and behaviors we learned from others growing up. Perhaps language is the most tangible example of it. But I admire your positive attitude.
@Laura Vanessa Escobar Salazar I would say if it was unconscious, we won't feel much adversity doing so, perhaps not even notice it. But yeah, conscious efforts are certainly made as humans have a need to feel like we belong. And spending time alone does help in the sense that you feel drawn towards the traits you actually want to keep or develop further to form your unique set :]
@Laura Vanessa Escobar Salazar I understand Laura, it's one thing to put effort and another for it to actually work. It rarely works in this case. I too personally never fit in, but I am an introvert so it wasn't much of an issue. Or so I thought, until some events happened that changed things. Still, I never understood "be yourself". How am I suppose to do that, just act like I want to? I'll end up in jail then haha. What works for me is what I read once: "Be a person YOU want to see in this world." That made a lot of sense, so I picked the traits I want to see in someone, and implemented them on myself. Ironically enough, instead of blending in after doing this, I started standing out even more, but in a good way this time!
@Laura Vanessa Escobar Salazar And I'm glad that you understood my perspective and found an approach that works for you! By the way, you are an SF type, aren't you? :]
@Laura Vanessa Escobar Salazar You are sweet :D Usually, when I come across someone pleasant, I try to figure their type. You can already tell how good I am at that heh. I am NT actually, INTJ. Practicing to be less robot and more human.

Awesome vid! Loved how it portrays the different types at a glance. Also playfully reminds me, as an INFP, that the impulse to save the world may not be everyone's governing principle. Must keep this in mind when I get the comments for wearing older clothes or otherwise not keeping up with the Joneses.
"The one common denominator in all of those possessions... was me." I've noticed the INFJ posts are getting gradually more depressive in nature. Frank, are you okay? Do you need help? Go to therapy; it's okay.
He's not wrong though. It doesn't have to seem depressive. The things you have represent you in some way. I guess you can see it in a positive or negative light, or both, lol.
have you seen the iNFJ subreddit tho, it can be rather depressive, even though everybodies so helpful and respectful over there which makes me and them feel less alone 🥰 Theres positive lights definitely but the way we have to cope with life is just bleh.
Perfect timing, Frank. I am in the zone right now. Everything is on it’s way out. Maybe I will slow it down a little. It just feels so good while stuff is going out the door. ⭐️
“Were all tools, in a meticulous game created by a corrupted overlord watching whole lifetimes go by while eating a sandwich, made from a bunch pain and suffering locked deep inside our soul, waiting to be released once again.” - Intp
3:49 That's me when I go shopping. When I try on some clothes, I end up getting discouraged, because according to me nothing fits me and then I say that the problem is me, because I don't know if my body has a rectangular shape or is an inverted triangle, and this ending in an existential crisis about "who am I or what am I"
INFP: "Part of being minimalist to me is going green so I reuse as much stuff as possible. Like these pants, they're made out of old paper bags. I end up accidentally exposing myself in public all the time because they rip extremely easily. And in the rain, they basically fall apart and leave me standing there without any pants on. But I'm saving the world here." Yeah I'm saving the world, please thanks to me 🤣 I just don't want to waste everything 🤭
This is probably the best INFP quote from James since the camping episode. The fact that the INFP is actually doing it because he thinks he's doing right by the world is just so cute and wholesome.
I'm INTP and this is dead accurate. Before quarantine I would constantly lose my water bottle, once left my entire backpack at a bus stop, and lost my phone the same month I got it.
*"Plus my bank account is also minimal at the moment so I couldn't buy anything even if I wanted to"* 😂😂 I laughed way harder at this than I should've .
I know the whole ENTP thing was supposed to be a bit but as an ENTP that blew my mind a bit... I mean, suffering and pain are definitely not "the core" to reality (there have to many interacting cores in my opinion, or the core overextends categories we made to understand things), but the idea that our materialistic nature comes from valuing materials as the most "real" part of reality... I mean sure it's also culture and the American dream and a drive for power etc., but all of that might boil down to our overemphasis on the material realm. Maybe that's what biological organisms are built to inherently value first though, considering they evolved on the basis of the material realm. Anyway, good stuff.
The worst part is that, as an ENTP, I’ve said things similar to that bit... Cuz honestly, who doesn’t want to philosophize about the metaphysics and epistemology!
As an INTJ who is currently renting a studio apartment where the only furniture I have is a computer desk and bed, I feel attached. I don’t have the new iPhone... But I did buy Starbucks today
LOL! I'm an ENFP, and my husband and I recently sold our house and moved into a motorhome with our six kids. I don't know how many times I've said "We purged a lot... Because we moved into a motorhome" 🤣🤣 Spot on!
X'D Had to pause after the "my co-worker Timmy" bit, that cracked me up way too much. Can't quite relate to the INFJ this time. I get highly attached to things to the point where I'm highly protective of them. I hate shopping and getting new things in general isn't my cup of tea. But the stuff I DO own is under my care, so I'm the last person to lose, break or throw away things - sometimes to the extreme of not using them at all. (Even doing that with items in games because "What if I use them carelessly and then need them later?!")

I've mastered social minimalism this year, I got rid of all Human interactions that don't spark✨joy✨ long story short, I had to use glitter on some friendships so I won't end up alone lol
@Leen Basha 2 questions about forcible glittering: 1) how do people tend to respond when you say "hold still, I just need to put this on you"? and 2, (perhaps more importantly)- do you have to use any form of trickery or physical restraints (ie a Full or Half Nelson), to secure the compliance of someone who may or may not be fully "on board" with the act of being glittered?
The “glitter” is metaphorical. So is life.
- INFJ
@@sunnysal3889 exactly, but I think he was sarcastic tho
@@blackoceancreativeuniverse well, I had been studying the participants for a year now, and I only chose those who are worthy of glittering, the glitter doesn't fix huge problems, but it surely covers the areas I dislike
@@leenbasha You must be much nicer than me. That's a very NF thing to. I don't think many NTs even own any glitter, metaphotical or otherwise.

As an INTJ minimalism seems as an attractive concept... I believe in buying less but better quality things
Oh gosh i think exactly the same
It's attractive, but I have to keep my books. There's no point making the extra effort of getting rid of them and buying the same books on a kindle. That just feeds Amazon anyway, I use my kindle to borrow books from the library, not to feed that f*ckwad of a corporation.
@@americanbookdragon not in my book, too (see what i did there, lol)
@@americanbookdragon I agree with you... I'm not a minimalism, but I think it can inspire my lifestyle... I can incorporate only some aspects of it. I won't get rid of all my books either, but I choose to only buy physical copies of the ones I really like.
As INTP i relate to this way more i should like waaaay more
Yup same and we are super trendy without even trying 🤣

Ok, ENTJ and "maximum efficiency" is so true, AND I have been decluttering for the past couple of years, so BOOM!--you hit that nail on the head!

Happy anniversary of your first youtube video ever! Can't wait to see what you'll be bringing us this year, hopefully new hairstyles lol😁❤️

The biggest challenge in life is being yourself… In a world trying to make you like everyone else.

INFP: Saving the world at the cost of pants
Me: Yeaaaaaaah, that sounds about right.
3:49 That's me when I go shopping. When I try on some clothes, I end up getting discouraged, because according to me nothing fits me and then I say that the problem is me, because I don't know if my body has a rectangular shape or is an inverted triangle, and this ending in an existential crisis about "who am I or what am I"
I identify as an INFP... and you totally nail it every time and make me laugh. Thank you for that! Happy New Year!
As an INTJ, what I see on this video is, the INTJ one is with black basic t-shirt. As always..
INFP: "Part of being minimalist to me is going green so I reuse as much stuff as possible. Like these pants, they're made out of old paper bags. But I'm saving the world here."

Spoken like a true ENTP
The worst part is that, as an ENTP, I’ve said things similar to that bit... Cuz honestly, who doesn’t want to philosophize about the metaphysics and epistemology!
