I just kept listening to the album because I knew that something was there, and I just wasn't used to the sounds. The album is now probably in my top 3 favorite albums. I think Flower Boy is lyrically better, probably by a lot actually. But sonically this album is just so satisfying. Tyler is defintley in his musical prime, and I think he will just progress from here on.

I think we gonna see a fusion of igor harmonies/production and Tyler’s old rapping in upcoming projects, I’m hype

There are a bunch of songs on Igor (Igor’s theme, new magic wand, puppet, what’s good) that are way more complex harmonically than the simple 7th chord progressions in see you again. Also the vocal layering on these tracks + the number of different synths/instruments playing at once makes them sonically stand out so much more than flower boy
I feel like this is one of those albums that you won't fully appreciate in its first listen, you gotta give it at least 3 listens first. I'm obsessed with it now.

Tyler Phillips for me everybody knows it’s decent or above they just disappointed after listening to the spoilers, I listened/ watched the WHAT’S GOOD spoiler n I was hyped but it turned out ok...but I love half the songs on the album but the rest decent
He said dont expect a rap album, and yall talkin about how it had less rap than his past works, cmon guys. Tyler Knows what hes doin. I dont think he made this album to “get back in the conversation”. Tyler Made this for intention of speculation towards subject matter of the songs/album. Look at the parallels between tyler and igor, they both weird and misunderstood. And when “igor” starts talking about he fell in love, it completely changes him. Which feeds into the “exactly what you run from is what your chasing”. Tyler/igor never was looking for love but when he did, he liked that feeling alot and started to chase it. Puppet talks about how tyler/igor are a puppet for that person. Plenty of more in depth hints to Tylers feelings toward another person are in the album. I think it also adds on to the idea of tyler being homosexual because early on in the album in “I think” he says something along the lines of “im the only one that knows the real you, who cares what they think” which challenges the idea that the other person was a male but hasnt fully identified or come to terms with being gay yet. All tho the classy 80’s esc vibe wasnt for me, i still enjoyed the complexity of the music and the depth behind what hes saying. From a psychological standpoint as well this was a very good album for songs to get stuck in your head because of the heavily repeated words that are jammed in the chorus which will get people to remember tylers songs. Hands down one of the best albums produced by T in my opinion. Yall sleepin on the subject matter of this album :/

This album is a 9/10 man. It is an expert mix of flavorful 70s-80s R&B and funk synthe pop with modern rap music. This was experts produced by somebody with an uncompromising vision and somebody who NEEDED to make this album.
People like tyler, frank ocean, kanye west, yung lean etc open doors musicly for everyone else. It was really experemental but it had to be like that to make a difference. I really enjoyed it as music period. But i would like a bit more organic music from him than heavy synths throughout the whole album

I wasn’t a fan of Igor, Some rap songs, Blonde, Channel Orange, and even Flower boy. I hated all those albums bc they were fuckin weird But, after a few listens on each... those albums just changed my life. I’m so glad that I gave it a chance. Igor just makes me reflect on my current relationship and past failed relationships/obsessions over people I thought I loved Some rap songs and blonde takes me through my past suicidal thoughts and depression, and eventually out of it to what I’ve got now. Both just make me appreciate that I’m alive and love the people that support me Channel orange and flower boy... I play that shit everyday, they honestly apply to every damn feeling I got Without these albums - If I didn’t give it that 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th playthrough - I’d be dead or in a mental hospital.

I wasn’t a fan of Igor, Some rap songs, Blonde, Channel Orange, and even Flower boy. I hated all those albums bc they were fuckin weird
But, after a few listens on each... those albums just changed my life. I’m so glad that I gave it a chance.
Igor just makes me reflect on my current relationship and past failed relationships/obsessions over people I thought I loved
Some rap songs and blonde takes me through my past suicidal thoughts and depression, and eventually out of it to what I’ve got now. Both just make me appreciate that I’m alive and love the people that support me
Channel orange and flower boy... I play that shit everyday, they honestly apply to every damn feeling I got
Without these albums - If I didn’t give it that 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th playthrough - I’d be dead or in a mental hospital.

My man in the passenger got the stuff nose just like me right now. Respect for shooting this cause I know it was hard to get into and feel it when you got all that congestion brother. Great video, and I really enjoyed this album. His arrangements and ability to cohesively tie such a wide variety of sounds and ideas into one project is getting better and better.
