These guys were amazing. I heard their LP in 1980. They were my brother's favourite. I am grateful that he shared this duo with the rest of the family.
Thank you for posting this I’ve never heard an even though I have so many CDs. it’s wonderful to hear the righteous Brothers. And I always pick out Bobby’s notes.
I had never seen nor heard them before! Was surprised to find them on u tube! I’m 80 years old but had a big family and was very busy! If I had radio on it was mellow stuff! But I love listening a little every day!
Thanks to you and Utube am discovering songs that I never knew they recorded. And often better than the originals. Thanks. My playlist just gets better and better. 😍
I love to watch the original recordings and compare to see what the Righteous Brothers did with them. In each case, they did not not merely "re-sing" the song, but created an entirely new piece. The original, like many other great songs, such as "Let it Be Me", was created by the great Gilbert Becaud, "Et Maintenant". ruclips.net/video/TW6QiI7hHGA/видео.html
Great rendition of this song which was originally written and performed in French by Gilbert Bécaud ("Et Maintenant", 1961). The beat emulates that of the original song, but the rendition is of course unique to Bobby and Bill. They polished a gem, and made it into a shining diamond. BTW, Bécaud's 1960 song, "Je t’appartiens" became the great English-language hit, "Let It Be Me". Bécaud may have been flattered by Sinatra's or Bassey's renditions, because they were superstars, but I am certain he loved the RB's cover for their expressiveness.
Sorry but they should have left this one alone. Love the Righteous Brothers but they apparently got some bad advice on doing this particular song...or at least this arrangement.
Every song is not made for everyone. I love the Righteous Brothers, BUT BUT BUT ,this song is not made for Bobby Hatfield. I don't know what is wrong, but he sounds terrible on this cut. Perhaps Bill should've sung it solo.
I guess it's a matter of taste. Bobby was so versatile with regard to their material and sounded different with each genre he covered. I could be wrong but this may have been an album filler. I wish Medley would talk more about those decisions that were made. In the earlier years they didn't necessarily have a say in what should be recorded and included. For my part, I am glad they sang it because I love the original chanson.
Best duo ever. Bill and Bobby's voices are pure magic, a musical marriage made in heaven. Love the both.🥰
These beautiful voices make anything they sing a treasure.

This is interesting. I liked gilbert becaud also. All they covered got there own touch, gread. From GER
Great vocals. Wish they had better orchestras & mixers throughout their careers.
I think that they had good musicians and arrangements through most of their careers.
What a wonder ! … but … 😅 if the strings were’nt so loud !!
genial

Your Welcome
Fantastic version far better than Sinatra and Bassey! Only Elvis did it better
Sinatra? Who's that??
I don't see how you can see any of them are better than Bassey. It doesn't get any more real than that desperate leap into the abyss.

I wasn’t fond of this music until I heard Bobby’s smoth and lovely performance ❤
