Yes, It is possible to add a pdf as a link. You can paste the pdf icon in the document. Select the icon and press control K (to paste the link in the address) that was, the pdf logo becomes a hyperlink.

I have an 80 page document to insert so it is quite irritating it has to be done page by page but a useful tool .
