    Hay John, Great Video! Would you be able to explain how I would control this same pump on my Pentair "Intelicenter" as I think different relay/daughter board config now.

    I have looked everywhere for this cable, any idea where I can get one, the part wasn't found on pentair website

  • @jcurciojr
    @jcurciojr Год назад

    I get to the part around 5:45 where you 'hit the start/stop button, and it's ready to go,' and then at 5:48 the pump is running. I clearly missed something but don't know what. What did you do to make the pump actually start?

    John...i have a hayward aqualogic version 2.42. would i be able to just use the cable and connect it directly to my controller? or do i need to buy a Pentair IntelliCom 2 Interface?
    my problem is I only have one spare aux and rest is all taken. i can maybe freeup one more making it two. would that be good enough for me? not clear after watching this video why do i need a intellicom 2 interface when these wires can hookup directly to the controller?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  4 года назад

      You only need an intellicom if you are trying to control more than one speed of a Pentair vs pump from (in your case) a Hayward panel.
      It won't work with a superflo only Intelliflo or IntellifloXF

    I want to use the SuperFlo VS with the controller so that it triggers speed 2 once the solar is ready and switch it back to speed 1 when the solar is off (solar temp low or pool temperature reaches its set value). How would I wire it with the communication cable?

    Question.
    I would really like to see a part 2 of this video.
    Can this pump be programmed and scheduled using the panel only?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  3 года назад

      Yes... once it's all set up you just set up each auxiliary on a schedule

    Bro what speed settings you recommend for best savings yet good cleaning?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy

      Depends on the size of the pool and the type of pool sweep you use. Usually I go with 1800rpm for 3 hrs and 2600rpm for 3 hrs for the sweep. From 7AM to 1PM

    Hi John,
    I have the Easy Touch 4 and I have hooked two relays up for a high speed and low speed programming choice. I would like to have a motor speed for the spa when I turn it on but can't see any way of connecting the third lead. Is there any way to piggy back on the Spa switch ? Thanks for the help.Dp

    • @mrjp2149
      @mrjp2149 5 лет назад

      I'm not sure if you got you answer but I may be able to help. I recently installed the superflo and used its motor control cable on my older Polaris Eos. I use all 4 speeds that the motor has available and I set them to trigger at different times throughout circulation. If you have any auxiliary relays "dry contacts" currently not being used, then you can do it. When your controls switch to spa mode you'll want to activate a spare relay, (it does not have to be a high power relay) AUX 1-3 would work fine. You can then add an individual speed for the motor when the controller is in spa mode. The motors control wire has 6 different colored wires as the video shows; Red=+5v / GRN=Spd 1 / Yel= Spd2 / Org=Spd 3 / Brn=Spd 4 / Blk= ground. Each motor speed can also be custom programed to change its RPM at the motors onboard keypad. Assuming you want a higher RPM for the spa then all you would need to do is put the Red wire which is the motors internal 5+v on one terminal of the auxiliary relay you use and the brown wire, which is the highest default RPM, on the other. Hope this helps

    Great video, thanks. I have a Superflo VS pump (older, not RS-485) EasyTouch 8 Compool upgrade. When my EasyTouch upgrade was installed, the Compool power center was re-used. As a result, there are no screw terminals on the high voltage side to which I can connect the Superflo VS control wires. The only option I see is to wire the pump control directly to the 2 position connectors for each circuit on the EasyTouch upgrade board. Is that correct? Thanks!

    The external wire you show only has six wires - one each for +/-/and four relay contacts. Is that all the contacts there are on this connector, or are there options for "smarter" external wiring, such as a serial interface (RS-232/422/485), GPIO to control settings, or analog/digital connections to monitor parameters?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  2 года назад

      Unfortunately this is the only way to wire this particular pump. If you want to use the Smarter interface you would need to get an Intelliflo pump

    John, what happens when both the speed relays are powered? I was thinking of only attaching one speed to avoid an issue. . Thank you for posting this as it saved me from buying an intelliflo pump.

    Great video, I do have a quick question. I have a panel and only using relays 1 & 2 (F (Pump) and 2 is my lights) I would like to setup Aux 2 and 3 to be speeds 1 & 2 on my pump and then set schedules on my easy touch panel. (Example 8am-3pm Speed 1 and 3-5 Speed 2) is this possible? The biggest issue I have is the pump looses power when the F relay is off does the schedule hold?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  4 года назад +2

      First of all the pump needs to be wired directly to a breaker rather than the filter relay. Then all you need to do is schedule the auxiliaries that you want to run.

      John The Pool Expert ah ok. I am also running a salt chlorinator, would this effect that? When the pump comes on it also fires up the chlorinator and same with heater when needed

      Ideally you should have one of the speeds attached to your filter pump relay so that when you turn your spa and your chlorinator and your heater. It will kick on. Most likely a higher speed

      Usually if something like that happens I turn off the breaker for 60 seconds and turn it on again. If that doesn't work I would check to make sure the impeller is spinning freely. If that's ok then I get out the volt meter make 100% sure there's 240 volts to the pump.

    Is the wiring the same for the whisper Flo pump

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy
      @JohnThePoolExpertGuy  Год назад

      No it is different. The WhisperFlo has only a 2 wire connection far more simple. It attaches to the comport there should be paperwork that came with the pump or on the control panel. Otherwise you can download the manual off of the Pentair website

    So this powers the pump too? Do you run the wires to the back of the pump?

    • @JohnThePoolExpertGuy

      No it doesn't power the pump it just controls the speeds . You still run the power to the back of the pump 240 volts
