    Thanks for the video. I started years ago, got frustrated and hung up the guitar. Now I'm back to the beginning doing it right. Sad at the years wasted.

    I used to practice every day. Then I had no time, picked it up the next day and found myself playing better. So I practice 5-6 day a week but be sure to take break. I do visualize playing on the day I don't play though. Biggest hurdle in starting, I started 5 months ago, was fretting hand strength and stretching. Think my every day practice at the start helped a ton there. First picking up the guitar I could go 10 minutes before the wrist and fingers got sore. Now I can 30 minutes to 90 minutes.

    Great lesson as always. Almost 50 years on the journey and a beginning level strummer I am guilty of all 10 plus a few others. One of the things I feel has been a big issue is not making ( or attempting to) music with other people in person. I have to travel 60 miles one way for a lesson, have run ads for years with no success to find anyone to strum with. That is my 2 cents. BEST AND PEACE

    Still loving your philosophy of guitar learning. Just had NGD happen and landed one of my dream guitars, a Martin OM-28. Loving it.

    I have a question as a new guitar player its very intimidating i was wondering if its more kinda like working out? Like should i be absolutely be playing everyday or should i take one or two day breaks for the brain to process and solidify that info. Kinda like the body recovering snd improving

      Practice every day, my friend. If you overdo it one day, you can always pull back a little bit the next day, but daily practice is great. Yourguitarsage.com/path

    Greetings again. I have a question. Do you happen to have any courses for bluegrass guitar or playing country guitar? Thanks

      @yourguitarsage  9 месяцев назад

      Having spent the last 30 years in Nashville, I’m heavily influenced by country. That said, all my lessons support that sort of playing and I’ve taught country songs for decades now. I also have a bluegrass course inside of UGS pro. All that said, it really depends on your skill level. If you are a more advanced Bluegrass player, I would find an advanced Bluegrass course. Otherwise, there is an immense amount of knowledge and practice in UGS that supports both of these genres.

    I want to learn how to play like Gabriel the Bull. Andalusian/Spanish/Classical/Flamenco all appeal to me due to the minor chords packed with emotions. Also the techniques are impressive on acoustic. Any advice?

      Yes, get a nylon string guitar, grow your nails and get proficient at finger style. Reading music is helpful in this style as well.👍😀
