I found out by accident that there's hardly any difference in performance between the 640d & my 2006 Subaru Forester 2.5XT (from 30mph up to 130mph at least). The Beemer driver couldn't pull away from me & I couldn't close the gap...😊).
Yeah.. but does the Subaru have soft close doors? 😜
@@mrmotors_uk 🤣🤣🤣 It doesn't get to much more than 145mph either but then the Beemer can't carry a wheelchair & suitcases or manage a garden clearance trip to the dump either...🙂

I'd be happy with that...😂 Hardly comparing like with like but that wasn't the point - and the 640s aren't that big where it counts...
@@barryfeatherstone1616 You obviously haven’t seen the boot of a 640GC. I’ve had my 2018 over 12 months. The boot is vast and the back seats fold flat. No problem getting a wheelchair in or several suitcases. I bought it to tour Europe and it fits the bill perfectly. Does up to 45 mpg on a run and never less than 35mpg no matter how hard I drive it. Not dis-respecting a Subaru Forester in any way, they are great cars but I’m sorry, there is no way a standard XT will keep up with a 640d mid range or off the mark. It’s a daft comparison. The figures just don’t add up. I’ve kept Audi S3s and the like honest but I’m not going to say it will keep up with an RS3. It does everything very well and is not much slower than my previous 2010 Boxter S pdk. Take it for what it is, a stunning looking GT car with very reasonable running costs and an interior not far shy of a Bentley in quality. Ticks all the boxes for me anyway but I don’t need to tow a horse box!
I’m considering getting one of these, how reliable is it though? Do you personally like it? Will you get over a G30 530d? Thanks 🙏🏽
Pretty solid from everything I researched! I I prefer the 6 series look to the 5, but personal preference at the end of the day
