I had both the Tesla and the Prius nod. Bought my Prius in '04 and people waved and gave me the thumbs up. Then got my Model 3 in '19 when they were still pretty novel. I remember once while parking my car, a bunch of grade school kids out during recess excitedly yelled, "It's a Tesla!!" Kind of neat.
I had similar experience after I got my Model 3 in early 2020. I had two Toyota Prii before that... they were ugly as hell and slow, but I put about 250K on each of them. They are great cars. I have enjoyed this model 3... not yet sure what will be next.
For all these weeks since the delivery event, I've been wanting a video like this. I just want to see it drive and what it's like to roll around in it. Would be nice to see it use autopilot/FSD
Took my Cybertruck on a 100+ mile trip, today. I absolutely LOVE the handling! The ride feels like a limousine! With my playlist on the speakers, there was 0 road noise. I would not ever want to go back to anything that doesn't have steer by wire. The handling was superb! The Autopilot worked perfectly in both heavy traffic and open road - all I had to do was keep it between the lines. It takes a few rides to get used to the "rear view mirror," but now I would not want any vehicle that doesn't have that, either! The coolest thing is that I plugged it in when I got home and will have a full range (over 250 miles) when I leave tomorrow. And, agree, that this is AWESOME for picking up chicks! They're not shy about it, either! LOL! I'm convinced that this isn't just a pickup truck - it's the best large SUV out there. And I don't feel guilty about taking it on short errands, because I'm not polluting the environment with toxic fumes! Just sayin'.

You had ride and handling on Focus, so the ride quality was louder and harder feel of the road. Change it to Relaxed, and it will sound extremely quiet. Softer ride.

Here's my curiousity on the steer by wire... If you're driving 5mph and turn the steering wheeltangle 15º the wheels will turn more than if you're driving 75mph and turn the steering wheeltangle 15º. So what happens if you are driving 45mph, turn the wheeltanble 15º, let off the accelerator, regen braking slows you down over the next 10 seconds down to 15mph. Does the steering angle of the wheels actually increase as the car slows down even though you aren't changing the angle of the wheeltangle? (wheeltangle = steering wheel rectangle)

A new big boy toy on the road and it is unique in style especially the front “Ironman” face, surely it attracts attention and many want to say hello/ hi. I would definitely say G’day if I see one. Re the external appearance, for me after a while the side view of the section after the passenger’s door look a bit uninteresting at this point, maybe an option to fold down the side panels to resemble the traditional truck rear section. Most People don’t seem to fully understand the steer by wire, even owners, maybe I don’t either, but to my understanding, the slower you go, the LESS input you need, the faster you go, the more input, basically becomes “normal” at higher speeds, because if not, it would be way too sensitive at higher speeds

I drive from LA to LV about 6 times a year and also take many road trips. Not needing to stop at Superchargers was the main selling point for me.
Has 2 electronic steering motors connectors to the steering rack, each has enough power to use on its own in the event 1 fails and im sure tesla put in a bunch of safety features like not letting you start the car or drive with a faulty motor. If it was built right itll be no less safe than your typical steering system, and most modern cars already have electronic steering racks, just not wireless like this.
XXXX-by-wire refers to anything that doesn't have a physical, mechanical connection. So, the fact that there's not a "traditional steering shaft" is why it's called steer-by-wire.
I don't know why on Earth you'd use that style of wheel + steer by wire and not make it limited to a 90 degree rotation, or similar, the entire point of that pairing is that you can't rotate it past the point where it becomes uncomfortable to hold with two hands.
I could never make a turn like that in my 2007 F-150 XL Long Bed. I bought my truck new for $16,000 and now have 36,000 miles on it. It's a 4.2L with manual transmission. I need to start dealing with the rust. The age of manual transmissions is gone, so I'm hanging onto my truck until I can pick up a Cybertruck for $40,000.
Tesla have it, the rear tires turning radius is lower than the Hummer though. Right now, it is around 3 degrees, but the max is at around 10 degrees after they program it in.
Steer by Wire or Fly by Wire just means that wires carry a signal between components that instruct them what to do instead of a mechanical linkage.

Pushing the front defrost button again will turn it blue and defog the windshield a lot faster. You don't have to roll down your windows

you dont need to defrost ur car too get the fog out. if you have fog on your windows simply run your ac even if you have heat on

I understand that the "crab walk" feature on the Hummer EV could be a simple software upgrade for the CyberTruck.
