God, no god, it's still just a Rabite, only a bit tougher... yeah, right. The first time I played this game, I was convinced this thing is totally impossible to defeat. He moped the floor with my characters so easily, it was indeed a divine retribution XD.
this game has a class system (define tech and magic for characters) , you dont have to level up weapons/magic, there are 6 characters to choose, 3 possible final bosses
this little critter is too powerful for that… he wears Dolan like a scarf and Zable Fahr is it's butler...even the goddess knew better than to mess with this thing ^_^ and it was living peacefully in it's cave anyways so she let it be

Death Hand-kevin and duelist for Duran i chose this want to have strong team who kick ass and really will not need much healing items will be enough. Plus i have saber magic :)
You should have used mantango oil to reflect its magic. The mantango oil reflects magic. You can get it from the forest when you are trying to fight the wood boss. It is a drop from mantango. You would only need three because it lasts for the whole boss fight.
@StoneMonkWisdom Duran and Kevin (and perhaps Lise) are closer to Brawler characters actually. Duran is the swordsman and Kevin is the werewolf kung-fu fighter. Lise is a spearwoman. Hawk is a ninja. (And Angela's the mage and Carlie/Charlotte is the healer.)
I'm pretty sure you're allowed to use Lvl 1 techs without a counterattack. You can set the AI to do that. If the character you're controlling goes over, temporarily switch him/her to AI controlled and you can do a lvl 1 tech.
How to learn more magic with Angela? I got Angela added to my party and I want her learn more magic. How do I do that? I don't understand what they mean by getting the correct corresponding elemental spirit. Can someone please tell me or show me how? How do I get other magic like Ice smash and all that?
thanks for uploading this ! here is my team: level 50 Swordmaster, Devil Hand NightBlade in the first time, I lost after spending 30-40 mins. After knowing Specter's eye helped, not applying any saber, only using level 1 tech, I pummeled the rabite in 5 mins!!! my suggestions: use all 4 scales and Pressure Point (up critical hit rate) from Kevin on all 3. the magic attacks like ancient or dark force wouldn't hurt much (about 200-300) with the INT/SP boosted by the scale

You have to get ??? seeds and grow them into items using the pots in the inn. These give random class-change items, you just have to hope for the right one.
Make Angela a 'Delvar' at the first class change, then when you get the ??? Seeds later on, keep trying and resetting the game until you get a Book of Runes. That will allow you to become a Rune Master. As for Carlie, either of the two light classes ought to do, since you'll get the elemental sabers for Kevin. Probably Bishop is the ideal way to go, b/c you'll have Magic Shield, Turn Undead and the strongest single-target Holy Ball spell possible, with 22 Spirit.
when i first fight him (around 4 years ago lol), i was lucky enough to defeat him in the normal way (using best magic and tech) and even though he counter my attacks he didnt heal himself and i take him down and got the moogle badge lucky me i wish i could play this game again
Easiest way to get "???" and "weapon/armor" seeds. At the ancient City Pedan. Go west at night and the first screen you enter there will be a battle consisting of either a guardian/boulder or papa poto/great rabite. Always kill the poto or guardian first. Great rabites drop the "weapon/armor" seeds and the boulders drop the "???" seeds. Close to an inn and overall decent training. I prefer this spot because there are only 2 enemies decently seperated making it easy to kill the right enemy last.
If you have Carlie, then Kevin's LL class is usually the best, because Kevin will then have access to Pressure Point, which is a fast-casting self Power Up (1 MP). Yes, you can buy Drake's scale, but I assume you don't use those in the normal battles. But if it's Pressure Point, you would use it all the time. That's way better than any of Kevin's dark classes.

Go where the Mama Potos are, save them for last, the Papa Potos will appear. When you kill them, it wil sometimes leave ??? Seeds. When you have enough seeds, go to the inns and plant them... you will get the secret items.
You have to finish this dungeon, which means you gotta kill Koren, leave the dungeon (or get warped out of it) and then reenter it. If you already finished this dungeon, I got no idea why it won't work.

i heard the angela's dark-dark class i believe is "magus" is pretty bad and pretty useful... i planning on turning angela into a magus because of ancient, highest int., strongest lvl.1 and lvl.2 magic attacks.
I know that if i use lvl3 or lvl 2 skill bars, the rabite would spam a demon, but what happen if i use the lvl 1? cause i killed it using tecnique lvl 1 and no spam :D

If you kill the black rabite while great demon are still up, you won't get the moogle badge. my favorite team are: kevin dark-dark lise light-light hawk dark-light replace kevin with duran and go dark-light going dark on duran and kevin means no heals but who need heals when you have moon saber. although with moon saber enchant, you'll be hitting black rabite for 1 damage each. but having lise go light while hawk go dark makes everything else easy. against black rabite.
Actually this game is a hell of a dungeon crawler, compared to its precedessor. As in the original spells were way too overpowered (some spells got their 999 long before). But it was hell good one! That awesome (boss) music, actually a pity to kill those well-drawn huge enemies - but as they CONSTANTLY barraged you, you felt good after it. You must not ever let go of the menu button in the final battle(s) during an enemies' attack, hehe. And good work, never attempted the Black Rabite though.

I like to think he's like the Black Rabbit of Watership down, basically the Rabite god of death.
The key to beating Black Rabite is not using any special attacks / spells. He reacts to any of those with a super strong dark attack.

You can fight him in the Glass Desert in the Dragon's Hole but you need Angela or Duran as your main.
Imagine not knowing its existence and innocently barged into his turf unprepared, while trying to clear the dungeon.
Black rabbite area only opens if you completed the whole dungeon , so the odds are small

Oh yeah, don't use Kevin's Monk or light classes since the healing powers will be redundant for Carlie. Go dark with Kevin for raw attack power!

because u need mult-heal for really anything that has powerful and high damage full screen spells, techs.
you know you can use the Chibokko (?) Hammer instead of Puipui Grass to heal all status effects unlimited times?

It's definitely worth getting. You don't have to play Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana,) first.
