Nice one Guy well done but lets face it 83.5 mph is just a normal day on the UK motorway (but obviously without the suit and boots that would look a bit odd in the car or van) ...

i know of only one thing Guy Martin would not bomb a hill on ...skateboard :P
I'm surprised he only went 83 mph when in such a flat aerodynamic position. World Cup downhill ski racers can exceed that on some courses (Wengen?) and although they're tucking their upper bodies, their legs are still creating drag, which the toboggan does not have. And speed skiiers go even faster than that (over 150 mph).
yeah i don't get it either. the previous 'record' is slower than pretty much every skeleton ride ever.

The fastest speed skiier 150MPH. The fastest bobsled 125MPH. Honestly 83MPH on a groomed slope seems pretty slow.

lots of drama and worrying about stopping. we do 80mph every day on the cresta run on ice (which guy tried once) and manage to stop safely every time with rakes on the shoes.

@@dappa4608 I said what I said because I know what I'm talking about, I do freestyle so I know what it's like to crash. Yes it can hurt if you don't crash right but on a smooth track you do nothing but slide, especially with a slick suit and full face helmet.
Last winter I went 92 mph on downhill skis, so I know what speed feels like. it wasn't that bad for me wearing regular ski gear, so I can't imagine it being rough with a full suit and windscreen.
I don't like to brag and act like I know everything, but in this case I likely have a better idea then you.

@@dappa4608 I'm no instructor, but I do have my lvl 1 for back country skiing. I have also been sking for 11 years 5yo-16. I have never lost skin sking and I don't know how I could unless I hit a tree or something other than snow, the only injuries I've ever had are sprained wrists, some brushes and a fractured neck.
I still don't see how you would sustain injury on a smooth grated surface with nothing to hit while wearing a armored suit at relatively low speed (compared to a motorcycle that the suit is made for)
