Something I didn’t get the opportunity to mention in the video, but in all the movies about teenage girls seducing teachers, why does the movie ALWAYS take the time to show male pleasure? If it really is the girl’s fault, why isn’t the grown adult stopping her and enjoying it because “she started it”? If you want to make a film about a child taking advantage of an adult, make it horrifying. Show that the teacher is not enjoying it. Show the teacher trying to stop it and avoid the student. To me, these stories ALWAYS look like a grown man’s fantasy
I haven't watched it but the head cannon I'm getting from this video is Basically she reported him because she realised her emotions were being toyed with and she was tired of that. She wanted to take back control. Because ultimately she was at school, she didn't really have much control of the situation and as the situation developed she felt like she was gaining control through her "feminine wiles" but she realised when he turned her down that that was just an illusion or her own childish delusion. Basically her teacher just found it fun and exciting to use his position of authority to play around with people's lives. Or hers specifically. He saw her people pleaser tendency Or desire to be liked by him (as a student) and thought he could have some fun with it. Play around with it. But she realised the obvious - being she had no actual control of the whole "unconventional romance". Not that people ever have that much control in a relationship. But the whole playing field was unbalanced, and neither of them went into it with good and pure intentions. His fault obviously. But still. She realised it wasn't edgy or interesting. It was the definition of toxic. They were both with eachother for the validation and attention. The difference is that he was older and in a position of power and knew better . He just decided he didn't care if it was ok or in anyway appropriate. They are both aware of the wrongness of the relationship. But it seems like the girl understood that on two levels, she got that it was weird and interesting (in the sense it'd make a good story, maybe even a fun one I guess - which I think is kinda not true but people love drama and Riverdale and just this narrative as it's portrayed in fiction) and that it's weird (in the sense it's gross, she initially found the idea of dating someone that much older kinda icky and pointless ) both those reasons it's wrong faded as the relationship developed because she was getting something out of it, in her eyes. She thought she had control over him, as a round woman, and was using him for her essay thing but neither of those make sense because it isn't like men are incapable of rationality or self preservation and she could've written her essay about knitting a scarf. It just had to fit the brief and it would've been fine. But she wanted to be extraordinary, or the best. Especially in his class which kinda got tangled up with the essay thing. Stuff had to be dramatic and groundbreaking. melodramatic and stuff. It's just where she was in life, it wasn't a conscious thing. Unlike randomly deciding to have someone stay after class to talk about nothing in particular.

This is so beautifully written, perceptive, and correct. Also matches how I felt during my relationship with someone way older than me
