Given Russian aggression, where does NATO draw the line between a kinetic war on a member state or an alternative form of attack such as cyber warfare?
So far, sabotage, arson, cyber-warfare, propagandistic interference in member states' politics and use of nerve agents against exiled Russians haven't been regarded as sufficient triggers. And this forberarance has not deterred Russia in any way.
They had a peace plan in place before he came in and invaded them after he seized Crimea they agreed to him keeping control for peace in Ukraine . He went back on his word then and he will not stop until he has his empire back.
Perhaps get a cease fire to start with and at the same time ramp up sanctions. A peace deal would involving giving up territory, would not necessarily be in Ukraine's or the west's favour and would be broken anyway ( as Putler can't be trusted and has broken every deal made ). Some kind of regulatory measure is needed to prevent foreign ideological groups, state agencies, and organizations with specific ideological beliefs from attacking and occupying U.S. websites through collective mass postings in order to advance their own interests.
From what I've gathered over the past 2+ years, this is a *jurisdictional* conflict. I think there should be a *demilitarized* zone in the occupied areas. Under any agreement, military forces of *both* nations should pull back from disputed areas and then the region should be *bombarded* with Starbucks, McDonald's, Walmarts, and Krispy Kremes, as well as indoor air-conditioned/heated shopping malls. This should make for *happy* local Russians and Ukrainians, while the militaries of both nations are stuck with still wearing camo and eating military rations.
No, Ukraine wants to end the war but be given the occupied land back. That's not gonna happen unless they recruit 18-24 year olds and fully commit to counter attacking.
Agree with Volker that Western strength in support of Ukraine needs to be the first priority. Earlier this year French President Macron indicated that those countries who are willing need to provide support troops to Ukraine. Naturally he was roundly attacked by some NATO members like Germany for suggesting this and his idea seems to have been more or less ignored by the Biden administration. How do we in the West gin up the will to truly show strength and save Ukraine? Sorry to say I just don't see the leadership or consensus present to allow this to actually happen.
The easiest way to fix this is cease russias membership of the un they were technically only a member as the USSR then unless they give Ukraine back their land etc they can’t attain membership or retain their veto powers etc
He gos on and on about the next 25 to 50 years and our need to keep communication lines open even with adversaries. He knows we’ll need him. Timber, unlimited unlocked resources in the arctic due to melting ice.
The West should apply maximum pressure on Putin. All separatist or rebel groups anywhere within, or adjacent, the Russian Federation should be fully supported in any way possible to achieve their objectives.
It was the young Ukrainian soldiers who are suffering on the front fighting this war, above all people, were hoping for a Trump win, knowing only he was going to bring this war to an end.
No doubt a negotiated agreement is needed but allowing Putin to keep the richest land in Ukraine with trillions in estimated resources would be a huge mistake. Putin will just pause the war, tell Trump whatever he thinks Trump wants go hear and attack later after Russia has built back their military. I hope Trump can stop the war but with a clear advantage for Ukraine. Russia started this war they should take the L but they will never agree to that publicly.
The use of the word "strength" is entirely false in this context. There is no strength in allowing Russia to negotiate anything with Ukraine. Russia will likely expect at minimum annexation of some parts of Ukraine in any negotiation, which no one will agree to do. They will then take any effort by the U.S. to encourage diplomacy as weakness, which they will then act on by continuing to invade Ukraine. It is so sad that Biden's policy to support Ukraine with military supplies and funding is seen as weakness but rolling over for Russia by offering them peace talks is seen as strength. Trump's policy is the weakest policy I have ever heard of in response to a bad actor like Russia.

NATO: Stop the fighting, we are offering security guarantees.
Ukraine: Will you guarantee to fight with us if we are invaded again.
NATO: No
Ukraine: Will you guarantee to give us all the weapons and munitions we need?
NATO: No.
Ukraine: What will you guarantee, then?
NATO: We will protest diplomatically.
6:53 nonsense Russia will not stand for a US military alliance in Ukraine. Just as we would not allow a Russian military alliance on the border of the US.
unless and until 3 points are met there is no peace deal
1. Ukraine is independent & nuetral. With no assets stationed in ukraine & verification required
2. Ukraine armed forces will subject to covenants in numbers and armaments (subject to verification)
3. Ukraine has to let go. of land.
To say that Donetsk and Lugansk are flattened is simply untrue and disingenuous. Sure the towns that saw battle are flattened. That's a tiny portion of the disputed territory.
Agreed. I have a hard time accepting that Ukraine loses nothing by walking away from their destroyed land and people. Russia would certainly move in and colonize.
Not to mention that those regions, and Crimea are significantly important economically; specifically with natural gas, rare metals, and agriculture.
Russia doesn't want the region for its houses.
To think that Putin would submit and adhere to any agreement is utter self delusion.
In my opinion it isn‘t NATO, it‘s democracy that the autocrats fear the most.
The deals already done.
Trump told how to dance by Putin.
Ukraine about to backstabbed.
Let's hope Europe stays strong and sees through this charade.
I'm a 12y/o american I havent been able to get ww3/nuclear war off my mind since early October. Should i be afraid of Nuclear war/ww3. Please if you read this comment like it so more people can see it and comment on it. Thank you
The question is what happens with sanctions. Would Russia be responsible for reparations to Ukraine?
Will believe when see. Verify then trust.
Putin has to get out of all of Ukraine's territory or it will never end with this lunatic. 😈
Why are we rewarding the terrorist? It is idiocy to give the terrorist someone else's land!
They had a peace plan in place before he came in and invaded them after he seized Crimea they agreed to him keeping control for peace in Ukraine . He went back on his word then and he will not stop until he has his empire back.
Good to here a resonable persons veiw. God help Ukraine 🙏
Perhaps get a cease fire to start with and at the same time ramp up sanctions. A peace deal would involving giving up territory, would not necessarily be in Ukraine's or the west's favour and would be broken anyway ( as Putler can't be trusted and has broken every deal made ). At least with a cease fire you can verify if it's broken, right away.
"Everyone who didn't want to live IS STILL THERE" But not under Russian rule⁉
Live to WHERE/to what?
⁉Do YOU want to live your home" 🤮
WHAT are there thoughts with any sense of reality????🤷♂
Some kind of regulatory measure is needed to prevent foreign ideological groups, state agencies, and organizations with specific ideological beliefs from attacking and occupying U.S. websites through collective mass postings in order to advance their own interests.
The tables have turned now Putin needs Trump
Well said
From what I've gathered over the past 2+ years, this is a *jurisdictional* conflict.
Really? Trump has told you this, TR? lol...
No, Ukraine wants to end the war but be given the occupied land back. That's not gonna happen unless they recruit 18-24 year olds and fully commit to counter attacking.
I think enough Ukrainians have lost their lives. The war needs to end. At least spare the young people.
@@Withnail1969 then the majority of the population, which doesn't want to give up the occupied territory, need to say bye to land.
@@Mark-jy6xd Actually 52% of Ukrainians are now willing to concede territory to end the war.
Sounds like it is straight out of the Kremlins mouth.
🐑🐑🐑🐑
The easiest way to fix this is cease russias membership of the un they were technically only a member as the USSR then unless they give Ukraine back their land etc they can’t attain membership or retain their veto powers etc
Then the UN would be finished. How can you not have the world's largest nuclear power on the security council?
@@Worldturnedupsidedown easy. you just don't.
Some sense. Well done
This gentleman talking very sensible, honest and understandable for common people like me
Ukraine will never give in to Putrid far too many innocent lives have been lost now
You guys don’t have a clue about war and peace in Ukraine.
He gos on and on about the next 25 to 50 years and our need to keep communication lines open even with adversaries. He knows we’ll need him. Timber, unlimited unlocked resources in the arctic due to melting ice.
If this guy can't respect the sovereignty of the Chagos Island people, how can he talk about defending the sovereignty of Ukraine?
uk have colonies what sovereignity???? its only lies lies lies
GIVE OUR LAND,BACK.
@@petehowett2854 So, true. They be taken from us. We just stand back and not hold onto what is ours.
Ukraine has got to have all its territory back from 2014 onwards.Putrid is done, welcome to Europe Ukraini.
Ukraine announced to the world the other day. No land giveaway.
Russia started this war they should take the L but they will never agree to that publicly.
its still illegal to negotiate with the russians isnt it? but please go on about how the ukrainians are so willing to talk...
Unless the tide turns on the battlefield, Putin won’t be interested in any peace talks. There’s a lot of mobilization needed to get there.
The American mindset as outlined in this interview has made the world a dangerous place for decades.
The Ukraine became independent from the Soviet Union not until 1991so what does tell you?🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don’t forget about more fresh water then anyone
Anyone who thinks that Trump is going to show strength against Putin has disqualified themselves from offering credible analysis.
WTH do you know Jillian?
Your candidate lost, get over it.
@@life2thefullest869 Your winning candidate is a Putin friend.
Trump just declared war on Canada and Mexico, so no. But Ukraine doesn’t need Trump. Europe will save them.
WRONG. Trump will stomp on Pootin.
Russia needs to concede something they dont want to lose or they win
The use of the word "strength" is entirely false in this context. There is no strength in allowing Russia to negotiate anything with Ukraine. Russia will likely expect at minimum annexation of some parts of Ukraine in any negotiation, which no one will agree to do. They will then take any effort by the U.S. to encourage diplomacy as weakness, which they will then act on by continuing to invade Ukraine. It is so sad that Biden's policy to support Ukraine with military supplies and funding is seen as weakness but rolling over for Russia by offering them peace talks is seen as strength. Trump's policy is the weakest policy I have ever heard of in response to a bad actor like Russia.
good idea mr trump.
Yes, if by "good idea" you mean giving Putin everything he's asking for is a "good idea".
Asking Trump to show strength is like asking a snail to speed up.
Nato is where the issue is.
Delusional
Who’s tougher Trump or Putin?? Come on Mr President.
Are you serious? Putin is, every time.
@ I agree with you entirely. I despise the draft dodger and coward. However, now that the Orange Blob is in power, I’m trying to goad the President into supporting Ukraine by challenging him to best Putin.
@@dereckbrannigan6195 Doesn't matter what the agreement is, tr*** will say that it was the greatest deal ever, that there never has been as good a deal as this deal, the deal of all great deals.
@ agree. I can’t stand tRump. I’m trying to flatter him into supporting Ukraine
Trump is worthless. Putin is a war criminal.
This interviewer is pro Putin. Cooler doing the best he can to counter him. Putin won’t allow Ukraine in NATO if he has his way. NATO needs to step up and defend Ukraine now.
You’d think this guys family or whoever it is, wouldn’t be laughing in the background.
We are already in WW3, but as ye, without the Nuclear exchnage
Ruz is stretched thin with its influence internationally. There ars points of weakness where pressure can be applied.
This is about the artic to the entrance of the Silk Road into Europe via Savastopol. He says everything in the Oliver stone interview including stemming NATOs sphere of commerce into former Soviet territory
Finally some balance from Times Radio. Way too much scare tactics against Trump before the election.
Zelenskyy ❤ Trump #PeaceThroughStrength
The inhabitants of Diego Garcia in the Chagos archipelago were brought there from Africa and India by the French and Portuguese to work as agricultural labor. They were not native to Chagos islands which were previously uninhabited. The Maldives are over 500 km away and never held sovereignty over those islands in the past. The Brits removed the imported laborers in order to use it for a military base and to lease it to the US. If the US and Brits lose control over those islands then they will be used by China as a military base to threaten the region and deny access to the military powers that guarantee the freedom of navigation around the world. China has done this in the South China Sea and is attempting to do it in the East China Sea where it wants to deny safe passage in contravention to the UNCL'OS treaty that China has signed but does not respect or follow.
To much has happend for peace we need a new balice in the world and new leaders in countres
They could take back territory given the weapons to do so…..
This guy is ignorant. They may have flattened a few cities but the entire area of Ukraine occupied is not a wasteland.
That region also has significant fossil energy deposits.
This Times Radio worker needs to go to the Frontline and learn some real world lessons and the then might not ask ignorant biased questions .
What historical grievances ?
Glad you said America. Trump woukdnt be capable of negotiating.
Agree with guy said Ukraine should be taken into Nato .
It's fine to talk about what should be done. But it is ludicrous to talk about what Trump will do when he himself doesn't know or can even guess what he will do. What we all can know is whatever happens he will stamp the Trump brand on it and declare the results the best peace deal, or war ever. And he will insist on this "truth" with his dying breath.
Neither will agree. Peace talks are not going to work.
Peacefully not by force 😂😂
which institution could guarantee crimean independence without creating a new european palestine-like territorial entity?
American guy don't know what he's talking about the chagosions live around Gatwick and want the chagos islands to stay under UK control Mauritius has nothing to do with the chagosions islands we paid the French for the islands and before the French there was nobody on them
I wouldn't trust Trump.
Biden's bungling is history.
It really is troubling that this situation will be resolved by someone who cares for no one but himself.
