www.manam.ie SPOTIFY: open.spotify.c... FACEBOOK: / manammen INSTAGRAM: / manam_men M'ANAM sing the traditional song "The Sheep Stealer" (trad. arr. Michael McGlynn / Fergus Cahillane)
I am a brisk lad, My fortune is bad, Oh And I am most wonderful poor. Ah but well I intend my sad life for to mend, And build a house down on the moor me brave boys, and to build a house down on the moor. My brother does keep fat oxen and sheep, And a neat little nag on the downs. In the middle of the night when the moon do shine bright, there’s a number of work to be done me brave boys, There’s a number of work to be done. I’ll prowl all around on another man’s ground, And take a fat sheep for my own, i will end of her life on the edge of my knife. And then I will carry her home, me brave boys, and then I will carry her home. My children will hew the skin from the ewe. We will be in a place where there’s none. When the constables do come I will stand with my gun, And swear all I have is me own me brave boys, and swear all I have is me own.
@@HrLBolle not sure I understand the question - firstly we aren't really choirs, secondly M'ANAM is a separate group to ANÚNA with a different repertoire. Some of the singers are the same but not all are. We just share a channel, and will do more sharing in the future. Technically the name should be the Danú Channel as that is the name of our record label.
@@anunachoir First I must apologize for any and all typing mistakes since English is not my native tongue. The idea behind my original question was/is: If You guys are two groups WHO share the same fascination with with your cultural, especially musical legacy? I hope this makes a bit simpler to understand. Happy new year to you guys from a fan from Germany
My Soul - Like engish you can drop letters (I'm = I am) and "My" is Mo, handy it begins with m for this example, so in Irish you can add it to words like "m'car, m'job" my car, my job. So Anam is soul, and M' is the my part. You'd say it almost exactly like it was one word m-an-am
Simply beautiful. Almost something out of a penny dreadful. Hauntingly stunning. Bravo
ANÚNA M’ANAM I love every video I’ve seen of yours.

OMG this is so delightfully creepy. Skilfully done...so gentle and smoky and hypnotic, and yet so ominous.
Thank you!
Mon Dieu, que c'est beau!!!
