@@creativemaster5876 I think Season 21 would've ended better if Thomas and Percy were the ones to be removed from Tidmouth Sheds and move to Ffarquhar so that they can work closely on the Ffarquhar Branch Line with Toby, Rosie, Mavis, Arry and Bert.
According to the online video "Still the Best of Friends", the official reason Henry relocated to Vicarstown was to be closer to his work, referring to his taking trains to the Mainland in Tale of the Brave and Journey Beyond Sodor. According to Ian McCue, Henry was not originally going to be removed from the Steam Team and would have been present alongside Rebecca, whereas it was always planned to remove Edward.
Honestly when henry got the boot in S22 i got so mad that i didnt even bother watching the rest of S22-S24. First edward a engine who taught THOMAS, YES THOMAS how to shunt and everything. And they just wrote him off like that and now henry the first green engine the third engine in the show appeared in the third book had the famous flying kipper accident pulled the express got stuck in a tunnel the almost got writen off everyones favorite number 3 boy. Just writen out in 3 seconds S22-24 Are The Worst Seasons Ever Atleast To Me. Awdry would not approve what people have done to his creation
6:42 "Maybe one day, just like Henry did, the show will get better." Have you seen the 2D reboot? It's exactly what Awdry didn't want his series to become. I don't think the show will become better anytime soon, not as long as Mattel is in control.
At least we know it CAN be good in the right hands. There is a way to make Thomas work in this modern era while still capturing the spirit of Awdrys vision. Mattel just isn't interested in that.
Okay hear me out, could any of you imagine an alternate timeline where Edward and Gordon were written off the steam team in bwba instead of Edward and Henry? I could actually see that because like Gordon, Henry is a very well known, popular, and sellable main character with the general public and like Gordon, Henry consistently leads in many episodes. Plus the heads of Mattel in that alternate timeline might see Henry as a more relatable character to little kids plus Rebecca is also an express engine and maybe they would have thought that you don’t need 2 express engines on the steam team. Although like Henry, the writing off of Gordon would be a weird and mind boggling decision considering how popular and well known he is from the general public and everyone (including myself) would be rightfully pissed off at Edward and Gordon being written off and replaced and the level of backlash would be basically the same. Ian MCcue and Mattel would still lie to everyone and state that Edward and Gordon will still “be very much part of the show” when in reality Edward and Gordon would become almost nonexistent characters after season 22 and Gordon would be moved to vicarstown to become the new express engine there while Rebecca would become the new express engine of the steam team and knapford. They probably made Henry the shaggy from scooby doo of the steam team. Of course bwba would still rightfully flop and Mattel would still make aeg (basically beating a dead horse) and make either Henry or Rebecca the parental figure. But what do you all think? Can you see all of this happening?
I feel like Mattel forced Andrew Brenner to write this episode and then in the next 2 seasons he decided to stop working for the writing team once after he sees the fans' complaints. Henry did at least get some cameos and some speaking roles in some episodes of the BWBA era so he along with Edward weren't fully gone yet. Hell even Edward a BWBA episode in S22 and it was great. AEG on the other hand is where Mattel made him along with Edward act like they aren't even there... 😡😠
I will have to rewatch that episode but I remember despising it a lot. Other than it being a piss-poor write off episode for Henry, I remembering feeling that the whole episode in general was terribly written. This episode does both Gordon and Henry so wrong… The story concept itself I think could have a lot of potential as a Gordon-Henry bond story to teach viewers that people we hold special will or aren’t always around 24/7 but no it just rushed with Gordon having a hissy fit and then just accepting his life long friend is moving out.
Henry and Oliver are my two favourite characters, in my opinion, Henry SHOULDN'T have left! Instead, have James strike one of the berths at the side knocking part of the side wall out. After the sheds are repaired, there's another berth and that is claimed by Rebecca, Edward's old one becomes Nia's. Perhaps Henry could have an episode where he passes the kipper on to Arthur or something? THAT'S what he deserves!
"A Shed for Edward" and "Forever and Ever" was the nail to the coffin for CGI Series fornThomas its just been downhill since with AEG which was in development during that time BWUBHA was airing.
I don't really Understand why they couldn't had more female Character in the Classic Series. Had Daisy appeared in Seasons 3 and 5. Plus Mabey Introduced Emily Before Season 7. thats a bit Off Topic but I don't understand why Henry Couldn't still be a Character even outside of the Main cast.
Thomas will never get better. The original show is dead and replaced by AEG meaning it is the new face of Thomas and we’re never going to see the original version.
You have to write Henry exactly like a real person. Not like the main, flawless character, but someone who struggles. He tries to fit in with the popular ones, and manages it, but isn’t a huge asshole like Gordon or as HoLy FuCk as James is. He just tries.
That holy f*cker is Edward. James is a highly cocky, fiery, redheaded (no pun intended) and conceited ass whose character arc is just Thomas's in, well, James form.
No it doesn’t, the flying kipper is collected at either Brendam docks or knapford harbor. Tidmouth sheds is a lot closer to Brendam docks and knapford harbor than vicarstown is. Not only is it mind boggling to write off Henry because he and Gordon are way too popular and well known by the general public, but story wise it makes no sense.
I can understand why you don’t like forever and ever. I have mixed feelings on the episode but In general I wish Henry had one last episode before he left the main cast. It could’ve been fine if he had spotlight appearances afterwards, but he never did and only had cameos only speaking a few sentences, and then by All Engines Go they just didn’t bother to get him a voice actor at all! If I’m being honest I don’t care about Edward as most fans, but I always found myself connecting to Henry. So when I see Henry in the reboot being portrayed as a Gordon repaint with a few modifications around the boiler, it just makes me sad. I enjoyed the video though!!
@@SudrianSwordsman Think about it, their were a lot of parents of autistic children who complained that their children did not like the bad changes being made for bwba like the over the top and overstimulating animation and 2 fan favorite main characters getting written off and the episode forever and ever was written as a response to the backlash. So Mattel was basically saying to autistic fans oh you don’t like any of these changes? Well fuck you how about we dedicate a whole episode to mocking you and portraying you all as babies who throw tantrums and can’t handle any change and then tell you to gRoW uP! Could you imagine Ian MCcue saying all of this to an autistic child? I know Gordon is not an autistic character, but Gordon was NOT in character in that episode. Now you all definitely understand why I find this so triggering and why bwba is absolutely indefensible do to the ableism in forever and ever and racism in other episodes. So yeah, FUCK FOREVER AND EVER AND ANY ABLEIST PIECE OF SHIT WHO LIKES AND DEFENDS IT.

At least we still got an episode or two the revolved around both Edward and Henry even after they got replaced by Nia and Rebecca. For example, Edward hid that truck from Bill and Ben to teach them a lesson.

Henry’s my favorite character since he taught me that it’s ok to have a disability, since I have autism, ADHD and OCD

My favorite Character is also James.
My Top 5 Favorite Thomas’s Characters is
1. Toby,
2. Edward
3. Henry
4. Oliver
5. Skarloey
Very based choices.
My top 5 is
1. Henry

3. James
4. Edward
5. Donald and Douglas, (I know, 2 characters in 5th but I like them both)

There’s that one episode from season fifteen that will always be unbearable to watch
Flying Kipper just can't be the worst, thomas episode
I did not Henry was written out, I had heard Edward had been, I'm having a beer for them both
i agree with almost everything you said whole heartedly
Forever and ever is also a downright ableist episode that mocks people with autism. Period

Honestly Henry got butchered so much throughout the CGI series, I'm glad he got removed from the main cast.
Ye but it's sad because the writers finally found their footing with Henry, only for Mattel to throw that out of the window.
