I don’t know much about hula but from the new Merrie Monarch they are so robotic. Emotionless. Soulless. The old Merrie Monarch was full of life, raw and more in tune with the ancestors and nature. My top fave will always be Natasha Oda but his is a close second

She actually was THE BEST that year... there were a lot of complaints that she didnt even place. However, she lost a few points due to her auana costume..and her flowers not matching her song...but to me thats crap.. she shouldve won straight up
It is a very hard competition, only the best of best get placed, it seems clear why she didn’t place; too many rough unfinished gestures within the story telling
