Drumming stimulates both hemispheres of the brain to create whole mind activation so you can be both creative and logical. Drumming is a powerful brain development activity that also supports emotional and psychological health. The rhythmic practice helps me develop a deeper sense of harmony and clarity of the mind. The drum is a simple instrument which can provide great healing benefits to the mind, body and spirit. Thank you for sharing this video that provides clear and interesting information.

Music Energetics all of what you are saying is true but keep in mind that drum playin is not a simple task if what you want is to be a percussionist, you habe to know the history and culture of each specific drum and that s a life long quest even wiht only one drum or familiy of drums that is a life journey, just saying this in order to give the drums the musical status it deserves

I absolutely agree with what you are saying.I went through some kind of brain trauma and I went on a drum workshop and I could literally feel the two hemispheres beginning to talk to each other again.I really need to get myself a small drum or a cahon or anything really with some resonance and that I can make a rhythm and beat with.

Thank u so much for this information... my brain got seriously messed up by being taken off of a benzo sleeping pill cold turkey after being on it 20 years... and it was a drug that a patient should only be on for 2 weeks. I have been listening to these RUclips videos on drumming tonight for about 2 hours and I can already tell a difference in my brain function. This is nothing short of miraculous for me... and how I appreciate your explanation. I'm going to be drumming and sharing this information with everyone I know.. how much our world needs this right now!

I'm sure the captives sacrificed by Aztecs to beating drums felt a lot of healing benefits! Drums are everywhere in Africa and it is the most diseased place on the planet.

@@APerson4889-g5f Lol. I was about to say, it has its benefits but it isn't a "remedy" that has the same results to each individual. Not every drummer I have met is a healthy, logical, creative, emotionally and physically stable person.

I use drumming for my PTSD and it has changed my entire world for the better. It helps that I already am a percussionist and play several other instruments as well, however I can see this benefiting anyone who may be seeking alternatives to prescription medications.

My brother... I live less than 2 miles from Morehouse College... I am part of the drumming community of Atlanta Georgia... Everyone knows that... And what I need to hip you to my brother, is that you are educating those that have septic attitudes towards us to the game and how to come in and be poison with a smile on their face

Such an awesome talk. I’ve picked up hand drumming in the past two years and am enjoying it. I’m working on a PhD in community psychology and am thinking about trying to open a space for drumming and music as community-building. This has come in very handy.

I really appreciate how well you demonstrated, articulated, integrated, and offered so much about it and the benefits in a short timeframe. 😊🎵🪘
