Here are all the RIP names you may have missed:👍
Fries on the side, I'm a big whopping author
Big Mac, rest in peace, B.I.G, rest in peace, Mac
Rest in peace, Pac, rest in peace, Peep, rest in peace, rap
We lose all the greats like that
So put respect upon their names while they still intact
That's why I rap upon this beat that was deep for Nas
I might never reach the level, I'll salute with bars🔥

Thanks for the background on NAS, helped me appreciate some of the bars. 'waviest guy' calls back to Kid Wave, The nuclear particle section refers to the Breaking Atoms album. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    • @ClearTheRubble7
      @ClearTheRubble7 4 месяца назад +10

Cool, I wondered about "waviest guy," thinking it was a reference to Ren's New Wave jacket in The Hunger. Then again, maybe it's a "double," as Ren likes to use pretty often. Now the nuclear particles make sense, too... I thought he was showing off his extremely high IQ and physics knowledge. 😂

Waviest guy is about the pirate scheme on the track.
Nothing to do with Kid Wave or his New Wave jacket

    • @little-earl
      @little-earl 4 месяца назад +8

@SuburbanPoet1 You may well be right, but why cant it be both, the whole point of these flows is to include multiple references and meanings. The NAS track Wave God is another good fit for Waviest Guy. I just enjoy looking for possible references. Only Ren knows for sure. We mortals can only speculate in his wake.

Great history breakdown and reaction. Interesting that you mentioned Nas had also gone as 'Kid Wave' and at the end of Ren's Water/Ocean/Pirate scheme he called himself the 'Waviest Guy'. Another subtle deep cut. Ren has levels.

I was just going to say both of these... you are the only reactor so far to mention the backstory which in return made this song even better with more hidden gems... Ren is so genius you really need to know your history because everything said has a meaning which has a meaning!!! Thank you so much for your knowledge and for shouting out Rens true talent in everything but most scrutinized in Rap by people who listen to this new junk robot stuff and I also think it's hard at first for true hip hop heads to appreciate Ren bc he does do his own unique style incorporated within the origional styles. If they do listen to more than one Ren song the appreciation and love for Ren truly grows once they realize Ren is actually trying to make music great again!(pun intended if your from usa)!❤

And if you are wondering what Rap track of Ren's to react to next..."Seven Sins", it goes hard. Delivering a deep insight into Ren's struggles with his disease and at the same time delivers some of his best bars over an amazing beat.

Loved this reaction!! Best one so far and I have watched them all night at work for the last two nights 😂 Ren killed this beat and put mad respect on it 🖤
    Ren - Nas - halftime
"Let loose in the booth and I came to introduce the
High proof juice like a flaming sambuca
    Halftime 3-point hoop, hallelujah
Abused oblongata and I severed a medulla
'Cause rap without Ren is like a skull without a brain, dude
Or like a feminist with no one to complain to
Hockey without ice or China without rice
The Bible without Christ, vindaloo with no spice
Playing snakes and ladders with no dice
Day without night, like Mike without an earlobe bite
I keep it tight, left-right, fake, dodge and evade
An uppercut, fuck 'em up in any various ways
Nеfarious gaze moving through precarious days
When wе're moving through the bubble troubled air in my veins
Librarian brain, pull up a barbarian slain
Performing like I'm global warming, music making it rain
I'm pimpin' my pain, prostitute of all that's insane
Put my problems on the paper and the sales will raise/reign
The sails will rise, pirate with a patch on his eye
Get ya hooked up on the music sailor, aye, aye, aye
It's like rats to the music when I'm feedin 'em pie
    It's Pyrex/pie-rats can't relax I'm the waviest guy
Like yo, rats bring the bubonic flow
Move the tectonic plates when I step to the show
So cold, I know a couple people don't fuck with it
They can just suck on it, zip it, then go, thanks, bro
Eenie, meenie, miney, mo, I'm shining like a diamond though
When pressure makes a rhyming diamond, this was by design, ya know
An isotope, a proton and a neutron in the nuclei
And split an atom in a fraction, a reaction supersize
Me and I supersize my order
Fries on the side I'm a big whopping author
Big Mac, rest in peace, B.I.G, rest in peace, Mac

What a ridiculous MC sound so meticulous, repeat
When I am spitting improperly, proper biology
No one can follow me, what an anomaly
Sick shit and quick wit makes girls wet and dicks stiff
I'm so tongue-in-cheek with my tongue in your cheek
I never sleep cause death is the cousin of sleep
I never rest cause sleep is the cousin of death
So save your breath, stop the tape, press pause, and eject"

Really respect the hip-hop history lesson. I was a heavy metal and prog teenager when rap first got started in the 1970's, but I also loved English classes and wanted to be a writer some day. I remember the other kids rolling their eyes at onomatopeias, alliteration, double entendres and poetry rhyme schemes--until rap made words like that common knowledge. Now Ren--a modern day bardcore bard--is shining a light on all of this again, for a whole new group of people who never appreciated rap before. Thanks for the great breakdown!

Thank you so much for the history lesson!
I worked in various record stores & then sold music collectibles from 86 to around 2005 so it’s bringing back so many memories. I lived in the NYC area in 85/86 before that & spent countless hours in flea markets looking through crates of old obscure 12 inch singles & album demos which made me initially really fall in love with early hip hop. I was flat broke but at least I could listen to it all if the seller would play them for me. 😁
If you just want some fun, I recommend Ren’s homage to the Beastie Boys, “What You Want” The sound & visuals are absolutely nostalgic with silly lyrics to match. He definitely shows subtle influences from other artists during the song, but it’s pure Beasties energy. 💜

@TheLVME This reaction deserves a lot more views and likes. Thanks for the history of the original. However, I was shocked by a few things you missed. The beat was made by Large Professor and you mention his album Breaking Atoms. @RenMakesMusic shouted this out.
An isotope, a proton and a neutron in the nuclei
And split an atom in a fraction, a reaction
This is breaking atoms...a nuclear reaction. The second thing you missed--you talked about Big L but completely missed the shout-out. From The Big Picture:
    What's this * rap game without L?
    That's like jewels without ice
    That's like China without rice
Or the Holy Bible without Christ
    Or the Bulls without Mike
    Or crackheads without pipes
    The Village without dykes
    Or hockey games without fights
Big L shouted out Michael Jordan and in response, Ren shouted out Mike Tyson, like Mike without an earlobe bite.
Last, at the end of Halftime, Nas says "rest in peace, yo, I'm out". Ren had a complete Rest In Peace scheme explaining why he does these retakes. Sure, honor the people that are gone, but take time to honor those still with us, like Nas.
I actually haven't heard a single reactor get these references (okay one got the Big L reference) but I understand y'all are doing this real time and thinking on your feet. This was a great reaction!! Keep them coming.

So I've been seeing Ren everywhere on my feed for a while, but never listened. I decided to get initiated on your channel because you're the Wikipedia of rap reactors. 😁 I love the boom bap beat and his skills are unquestionable, but I'm just not digging the British accent. 🤷‍♀️ Loved your history lesson. You may talk a lot but at least you've got something to say. 😎 Have you checked out Faceless Kings by Swollen Members yet? It hit #1 on iTunes. Another banger. Appreciate you, J. ✌️

Check with Ren - IIRC he lets reactors monetize reactions to his music. He has a "rising tide floats all boats" attitude. Probably noy this one, though, since I don't think he is making any money from this song, but for his music you can monetize the reactions.

Big , Mac(right off the whopper scheme the biggie and then Mack) and he says Peete as in rock, RIP PAC, RIP Rap! Sleep is the cousin of death he actually flipped what NAS said in NY State of mind. I love the fact in the beginning, he says all that shit that rap isn’t without him you know China without Rice and Bible without Christ vindaloo without spice that’s basically wrapped without renting it these days like😅 I am here and from this point forward, you need me to tell the history of rap, so it’s kind of cocky but he’s amazing so probably accurate but later on when he’s giving all the props to the deceased saying 26: people respect while they’re alive like I’m doing right now to Nas I might never reach his level but salute with bars so there he’s being humble saying he’s the man and I’m gonna give him props while he’s here the best way I know how to with my lyrics and Flo. I grew up in New York City big old town Nas three or four for me, but I have to say that by the time Ren is finished IMO he will pass NAS! Maybe not solely when it comes to wrap, but when it comes to all-around ability and talent, singing guitar piano, acting directing on and on and on. So it might sound crazy what I just said, but I truly believe it and this kid is fire and like you said he should be a household name a lot more people should like him and know him than do. I don’t know if he has anything to do with his race or being Welsh But kudos to those who got on this train early. I’ve been listening to him for about three years now and everything he touches turns to Gold! I would love to see a video of Nas watching this get his feet back in depending on if he felt like Ren did the song Justice and his opinion about Ren etc. it’s my first time coming across your channel I like the way you break it down and give it his history lesson nice workI’m gonna subscribe
