Hello Dr.Mate, I have been listening to some of your interviews, and wonder about the place or people that you connected with to do the Ayaguasca experience_ I know it is something to be taken serious, and being that is you, can you recommend a place in the USA or Canada, seeing the corona thing going on Mabe it is not the best time to go to the Amazon es, not for the place but eventually for the treep . So I trust you may be a great source of information. It is for a young man of that heavily in to mariguana and cigarettes. And has his own way to deal with life, does not see the addiction, , has been searching answers, only in his own way and this would be closest to his style. Thanks doctor!

The control group that is on a sugar pill should be used so that scientists can consider how much of the improvement is due to hope, in the group that is on real medication. So if placebo group improves 30% and the real medication improves 60% than you should consider that the medication worked 30%, as the placebo effect works in both groups.

it would be nice if dr Mate listened to the Master Mantak Chia in regards to these psychedelics.. i believe doctor would change his mind.. if he is spiritually mature :) hopefully the western 'arrogance' as he says will not be in the way :D and maybe have a discussion with Wim Hof too :)
I have scleroderma and honestly didn't experience childhood trauma. I have had my blood cultured for mycobacterium para avium tuberculosis. Couldn't these disease etiologies be pathogenic, even addiction?

Dr Gabor Maté what do you think about hypnosis. I haven't tried ayahuasca, but I think autohypnosis takes you to the same place.
Old comment, but no. I seriously doubt hypnosis is comparable to DMT (ayahuasca).
I have found salvia divinorum to offer even more potential than LSD or psilocybin. Have not tried ayahuasca or MDMA. In fact I have come to an even greater understanding of the salvia journey I took back in 2008 after watching a couple of your videos. Thanks, Gabor.

Gabor, are we able to completely heal? What would that look like? Most importantly what steps can we take to improve our health and wellbeing? I’ve been working on myself. I’m a Lakota Sioux Indigenous woman from South Dakota. I’ve been through a lot of trauma and overcame addiction. I had an awakening in 2018 and a few months later a kundalini awakening. I meditate and although I’m more consciously aware I see where I still need work but I don’t know how to help myself. Please help ❤ I also have stage 3 kidney disease, Seropositive RA, and neck pain and I’m overweight. I want to help myself with the pain

I'm not a scientist but in my opinion double blind method is bs. It only helps the placebo effect. If you know u are on placebo than placebo effect wont work and if u know u are on medication then the placebo effect lessens as you know it may or may not work, as u know u are participating in a study. So, double blind method only helps the placebo effect. Since no one knows what they are on, they all have high hopes in the study, that makes the placebo effect even stronger. If you really want to know that a medicine works than you must make sure that you know what you are taking. If as the scientist you know which patients take what than that shouldnt influence the interpretation of the results. You know that the placebo effects are real. If in a study patients on placebo improve 30% and patients on medication improve 60% than the conclusion you should take is that medication is bad, as it only works as good as a sugar pill. But that doesnt stop farmaceutical companies from selling us fairytales.
What about ‘current’ worldly trauma? Like the Whales and sea life being killed by Navy War Games and advanced electronic weapon experiments here in Hawai’i. The people around the GMO Monsanto/Bayer fields
~ birth defects, cancer clusters, auto immune diseases! Organophosphate Poisoning , etc... around the world.

And how does he propose psychedelics when that conflicts with human development strange that he would open his mind to that. Is he talking hallucinations and swirling abstracts? Lol So if he hasn’t noticed drugs change behaviour make it sketchy. But even worse others become way too passive and compliant easily taken advantage of their guard, which is the ability to think and see clearly, comes down, making it an extremely loud radar for opportunists especially in politics. Which btw gave the creep Trudeau exactly what he wanted-control-when he dished it out. And that’s not a country that’s a prison. So my guess is that he hasn’t thought that far ahead. Or he’s missing insight. He lives in Canada. He knows the addictions in the original peoples are on account of oppression. Drugs oppress what is required for human development. This conflicts with what he says he supports. Promoting psychedelics not wise.
