- Pierre Poilievre said Wednesday his party is opposed to the Liberal government's forthcoming online harms legislation, a bill designed to combat hate speech, terrorist content and some violent material on the internet. Poilievre also framed his opposition in deeply personal terms, saying no one should take lessons on hate from a prime minister who once wore blackface and racist costumes.

if parents are concerned about whats online, THEY need to be the ones to control what their kids see.
Parents can't control the internet though, they can't control the internet outside of their own home.
There's zero reason for not having the same requirements on pornography as there are with online gambling.
Maybe we don't agree with limits on expression online, but we can probably agree to put the accountability at some level. Whether it's with the individual, or the corporation that provides, stores or serves that content.

As a former child myself I can tell you parents are horrible at policing what their kids see online
All the things kids are subjected to these days should cause parents to embrace them very close. But at the same time they should be open and a confidant not a hellfire and brimstone agent of religion that just further alienates kids… if you want to understand your kids you have to listen first. Two ears, one mouth. That’s the order one uses to gain understanding. ❤
Many parents pushing for more control of their kids are just wanting to indoctrinate them… and where there is a hellfire and damnation church involved it usually results in children knowing that for safety they have to put a barrier between themselves and the threatening parent. Just remember that… I speak from experience.
Perhaps instead of having 3 people on a panel of 4 who clearly already don't like anything about Pierre and talk down to his supporters...have 2 vs 2 debate and actually talk about how detrimental any bill that may reduce freedom of expression would be for our society.

Maybe, just maybe, when you realize it's not an inherent bias, that Poilievre is only human and can screw up just as bad as any other politician, you'll realize they're not ganging up on him.

He's all offense, when he's forced to answer a question he doesn't want to he snaps and attacks. It's a reflex after being an attack dog in Parliament for 20 years. He can't help himself and it's his biggest weakness. He's great when he hammers Trudeau, but as soon as he's fed his own medicine he cracks.

If you are lying about certain people and falsely accusing them of things like pedophilia with zero evidence, and promoting violence to "protect the kids," that's hate speech. It's also stochastic terrorism because you know someone will act on it and you don't care if it's true you just want the target to suffer. It fits the right wing movement like a glove--it's all you have. You don't even know a fact about anything political you repeat whatever you're told like a parrot.

1) Get rid of the carbon tax.
2) Eliminate the bureaucratic costs involved in building homes.
3) Put convicted felons in prison not on the street where they re-offend only to be put on even more house arrest.
4) My personal favourite, defund the CBC.
There are more but if you miss these points the ones that Pierre constantly mentions, you're doing so wilfully.

Poilievre did not say anything that was incorrect, Trudeau did dress in offensive costumes a lot when he was younger and does not seem to take any ownership for it. The Liberals are all about more legislation and control, taking more and more rights away from Canadians.

I think it’s ludicrous that biological women are expected to give up their right to safety to avoid offending a transgender person. I don’t care if I get labelled a bigot. Interesting looking at the highly edited clip that CBC chose to represent Poilievre for this discussion. You took out most of what he said, and the entire context, and here are debating this one most poignant part of his longer response. This is why Canadian's don't trust legacy news anymore, especially the CBC. FYI, we can find the full speech from other sources, and we are making note of what you try to hide from us to make your partisan points. The more you try and support Trudeau in deceptive ways like this, the more your organization loses favour with the populace.

As a visible minority myself, I can say fairly accurately that we vote based on policies rather than lip service. If the conservatives match the liberals immigration policy, visible minorities would happily vote for them, as was the case in the 2011 election.
