Hello! Yes, Japan is a beautiful country and I hope you'll travel there someday :-) We will be releasing a few more videos on our trip, watch out for them and I hope this will inspire you. Wishing you a nice day as well!
Ooh, thanks! Yeah, I keep seeing the anime on Netflix, I would like to check it our since the fandom also visit Shirakawago for this very reason. But the village is worth visiting for any reason, really!
@@travjournal It is a very beautiful place. Have you seen the anime Heike Monogatari? The poem of the same name tells the story of the Genpei war. It is basically the period where the age of the samurai begun. The anime is about the woman that wrote the poem "Heike Monogatari". It is historical fiction, but a beautiful story nevertheless. The Genpei war is marked the end of the Taira clan. And Go Shirakawa was the shogun at that time. I wonder what event in his life led to this city being named after him.
@@rumplstiltztinkerstein I haven't seen Heike Monogatari yet but it's on my list. I suppose if a shogun's name is Go Shirakawa there is a possible attribution to the name of the town!
@@travjournal Just be careful cause this anime will make you cry. It hits really hard how believable the characters feel. Peasants are almost like slaves to their lords. But even the Lords themselves are somewhat bound and slaves to their own hierarchy and history as well.
Sad that it rained but it still looks amazing! Should be on everyone's bucketlist!
Mid-winter should be a better time.
Japan travel...i love to travel there..nice country..have a nice day my friend

Liked the "geeking" out part and the "pitch of the roof" part. Apir! 🤓
Yez, watch out for that particular vlog! 😂
6:55 Great video! Just a quick detail, it is "Higurashi when they cry". I never watched it. But I heard it is an amazing horror anime/game.
