Don’t know if anyone mentioned, tomato juice, big cans in a tub work great to get rid of skunk smell. Dogs will thank you and you will thank you. It took about 12 large cans poured over my little puppy to make me want to snuggle. Oh one more thing, baby shampoo and conditioner. Use baby that way it won’t hurt their eyes. Good luck.

A couple suggestions, either cut and chop the brush so the pile is more compact or lay heavier wood you w at to burn on top to compress the pile. Yes, you need air to have fire, but your fire is burning out before it has a chance to catch neighboring brush.
The vultures like that spot because of upper story winds that they glide on. You may see more than usual because they migrate this time of year. Only the black headed vultures stay here in Ohio during our cold months.

Our dog has gotten sprayed a lot by skunks. The best shampoo for the de- stinking is hydrogen peroxide and baking soda make a paste and add a few drops of Dawn dish soap. Mix and put on the wet dog scrub it in, rinse and wash with a regular dog shampoo rinse and dry the puppy. He’ll probably smell like wet dog but will be better smelling!

So sorry about the skunk thing. I think every one of my dogs has gotten sprayed at one time or another. A wipe down with vinegar helps with the worst of it. And then you just wait. Also, I think your “aerial predators “ are not. They look like turkey vultures which don’t bother chickens. They only eat dead stuff- road kill etc. Hawks often swoop in and sit quietly in a tree and wait for the chickens to let their guard down and then they pounce. Turkey vultures not so much. Sending hugs and blessings.
