@@DeathSpiral777 Skating skills, composition, interpretation, performance - I did not see the break down of marks but the PCS seems much lower than I would have thought (Technically not sure if there were any Under rotations, but also seemed low) but just my opinion (from someone who has followed skating for *years* but not a judge - just a fan).
I disagree with Mark's commentary in comparing Mao's vs Jia's Pcs. I feel like the judges have set the max for Mao being the favourite skater from Japan. And no one else will get higher than her Pcs regardless how much better that skaters are. This is politicking at its finest and done strategically as earliest as possible.
You're obviously a fan of one skater and not the other, which is influencing your opinion and leading you to invent reasons why your favourite isn't scoring quite as high. There might be a point about lower scoring and politics with smaller federations (to a degree)- but South Korea is certainly not a small federation with no influence. The head of the ISU is Korean! And be honest, Mark is more likely to know about how the sport is scored than you.
Her style and nuances of movements remind me of Yuna Kim. Her elegance is beyond her age! Unbelievable! But I do hope she can develop different styles and be a versatile skater.
@@kalihj5788 ?? I praise good skating everytime. Chinese or not. I love Jia Shin, you can see my 'positive' comments on her other performances. This is clearly overscored given the mistake and underrotation (two judges even gives her a positive goe for the combination LOL).
@@kalihj5788 He got negative goe because of the mandatory deduction from the underrotation after the tech panel reviewed it after the program. But before that, there were two judges who gave her positive goe. You see the tech box turn from red to green to red. A hand down would warrant a mandatory -2 or -3 regardless if it is underrotated or not. The fact that it is also underrotated means that the goe must be -3 and at most be -2 considering the good entry (arguable due to low pick take off); but, you see the judges giving it -1 and 0 in the final scoring. This is a classic example of overscoring.
@@kalihj5788 @kalihj5788 What nothing based on protocols? Two judges literally gave her -1 and 0. Underrotation in a combination is not a 'small mistake'. You and only get 80% for the 3T and negative GOE for the WHOLE jumping pass. That means in she lost 0.84 from the base value itself and another 2.5 points for the GOE (3.10 if we use her highest point ever gotten from 3F3T). That means she already lost 3.94! AND there is a mandatory dedcution in PCS if there is a major mistake in one or more of the jumping pass. The 4 point lower than her usual score is completely warranted. Now tell me is that underscored? NO! That is overscoring. And why do you keep on mentioning Chinese skaters? I commented in almsot every performance and have praised other skaters as well not only the Chinese. I smell a sinophobic person here.
Jia! Beautiful and fascinating, in full accordance with music, top artistry and charm! Jewel of any competition!
She is a Korean star and treasure❤
She is a star for Russia too.

Noone came to watch ..
This the job of ISU and hosting country to work on promoting the event and make it easy access to public.
How can they watch something they don’t know exists?
It's junior figure skating on a weekday. Go look at JGP from prior to the pandemic, not even the top Russians could draw a crowd.
