You are absolutely right and I'll clarify a bit. There are legitimate sellers on ebay selling cards all laid out in great detail that are selling cards the honest way and trying to maximize value. Then there are a ton of "Look at what I found in my cousins attic!" or "I found these in a storage unit, I have no idea what they are!" or "My boyfriend broke up with me so I'm selling his cards" and on and on and they usually have a long history of selling cards they know nothing about. No one should be buying from those guys. Another type of seller that I would buy from is a player who's getting out of Magic. They know their collection is worth something but they don't have the time to maximize it properly so they itemize it out and hope for the best.
