I would like to do that with all timelapses, and I do agree that it would be even better with this video/series (if it becomes one) in particular, however moving the schedule menu on mobile is finicky as all hell
There are moments in this race in particular where Airlink is much faster than Express (especially around St Helens Bridge, so this is closer than you'd think!
The trains weren’t quite going to the same places at the same times, meaning that it wasn’t truly showing which is faster - it was just a race from stepford to Leighton while AL had to go through the airport area first.
@@Swiftors Technically, if the video was aimed on showing the fastest way you could reach LSR (doesn't matter if stopping there or not) express could have easily won with the Llyn super fast route, which doesn't have any stops before LSR. I think a more fair way to measure it is if they would've raced to MGT, since there are routes on both express and airlink that start at SC and stop at MGT, so their routes would be roughly the same, with the only difference being the stops in between.
@@DARKNESS_DFL if they were to race to morganstown, I think it would be a tie with the aiport central (express) route and the llyn (super fast) route, since they both dont have any stops before morganstown
@@Swiftors I think express would win, since it has more 125 mph speed limit sections, while there are quite a lot of places on Airlink route, where it goes at 110 mph.
Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this, however to make this fairer I used a slower Express route and made the Airlink route as fast as it could be. Races on this game especially will never be 100% fair and that’s the cruel truth
There’s (currently) no way for Airlink to not terminate at the Airport, which is why I chose the fastest routes for Airlink and tried slowing Express down by making it stop at SHB.
This is kind of unfair. Reasons: You chose an Express route via Benton, whilst Airlink goes by MGT. AirLink did not stop at St Helens Bridge, whilst Express did.
That sounds like a smart idea on paper, however that doesn’t work since R079 goes into Platforms 8 and 9 I believe and R085 uses platform 2 at Benton, meaning you can’t switch between the routes.
It all really depends on the route you choose, since express can have up to 9 stops per route, and AL can have around 3 stops. As per routes being enjoyable or not, it really varies with each person, with some preferring express and some preferring airlink. Personally, I like both operators and drive them depending on my mood.
Out of all the Express trains, you pick (in my opinion) the worst one. I have a massive hatred for the 801. And to see that beat me favourite operator (AL) makes me rather angry. But…
I chose the 801 for 2 reasons 1: It makes the race fairer against Airlink, both the 801 and 802 are the same length, both have 5 coaches and both can do 125mph 2: It just makes the race in the cabs of the trains look nicer than 2 completely different cabs
@@MocoBroJosh True, but even still I hate the 801 but adore the 802 because I think it just looks better in the livery suits it better than the express one. I respect your opinion fully though. 😃😃
@@michaelkeeley8594 Because you have to think about how well the livery fits the train genius. The 801 in Express livery looks dreadful. The could at least do what Airlink and GWR have done, put a yellow front on it and add a bit more colour to make it more interesting to look at.
@@MocoBroJosh Well. Its clear. Airlink route is longer, and it needed to change of cabin and that takes an extra time. Express was direct to LSR, no cabin change needed. Speed limits were diferent. They were diferent routes. Stops at Express were shorter.
I tried to make this as fair as possible and there is no way to make the route lengths, speed limits and other similar things exactly the same. The reason I chose both 801 and 802 is for both trains to be the same length. The reason I ran the routes 5 minutes late is to make sure stops on both routes is the quickest is as it can be. I do understand where your coming from, however for a (future) series like this there is no where to make it perfectly fair.
Thanks for all the support on this video! This is only my 2nd video to reach 1k+ views, and I’m really happy I made a video you all enjoy! 😁

@@MocoBroJosh i see, makes sense
Airlink just blowing through the first segment
The AL train seemed to have a top speed of 110, when you could have used the 802 making the race farier
I did use the 802 for this race, the Airlink speed limits are mostly slower overall
My eyes had a moment, I didn't see it
Don’t worry about it
great video!! good luck with mocks and future exams!
Thanks a bunch! ^-^
Express routes are usually faster while AL routes can be slower and AL has trains that go 90 so not surprised express won

It would make the race more unfair, because AirLink needs to terminate at Stepford Airport Central while Express just turns right.
I think it would be fairer for SE to do R079 and R085, so that both services have to change service, as that eats into time.

801 on express and 802 on airlink

didn't watch the video yet, but I guess Express is gonna win because it's the fastest operator, am I right? reply!

How and why are so late?
