Just the other day, I haven't been riding on the trails recently due to not living near any :'( also will you guys ever look at doing a race in southern Africa? My suggestion would be the Desert Dash in Namibia! It's a 373km race across the Namib Desert! Would be nice to see you guys try something like that. Love the vids, keep it up!
To honest I regularly blast my Giant Anthem down and its onto. Its 5th year and going strong. I avoid spraying directly on the forks/shock/bearings etc. Seems to be fine.
What kind of rich bloke can afford to waste a Monster cleaning their bike? I'd rather drink it and then try to pee on my bike. It would be "cleaner" after all.
Not to forget, washing your bike in a pond releases grease and oil into the environment. People who preach about picking up trash from the trail and then do that kind of stuff are uncool.
depends on the lube used, but grease won't get out as easily, due to seals, but water can come in. there are temperamentally friendly lubes, that don't hurt the nature, but most lubes are nasty stuff.
Monny abuse at its finest! Sam and Blake??? What an amazing combination of personalities!! Satirical, humorous, and creative. A clean bike always works better, and is more enjoyable to work on if adjustments are required. Dirty bikes just aren't cool!
I fell knee-deep on a creek once - fat bike, early winter, broken ice on a dubious trail. The bike's smell was unbearable. We stopped at a car wash. Best $5 spent on bicycle-related stop. Done as well after obscenely muddy frozen cross races. I only really do it when it's below zero since I prefer to do this calmly at home, but for those conditions car washes are great.
I bought a battery driven "medium pressure" cleaner from Kärcher. You can take it with you in your car if you want. It has a firm spray but is safe for the sensitive parts. Really like it.
I hope Doddy hasn't watched this video, and if he does will GMBN pay for his mental health counseling? I know I'm losing my mind. Entertained, sure.... that's a word, lol.
Every time I go out in the rain I dry the thing off with a rag, helps clean it while it's still wet but as it's all drying on that corrosion starts and then it's more difficult to deal with. It might take a little while and you need a proper place around the house to do it but all the little things you check as you go around with a rag saves a lot of time with maintenance in the long run. Also your not polluting anything except the rag and that's easy to store out the way and then dispose of properly in a variety of ways.
Um when I went to Leogang there was a river right near the bike park. I was there when a race was on and many people were washing there bikes in the river. But I guess it was fresh water straight of the mountain. So it wasn’t as bad.
It is truly hard when you are washing your bike and suddenly is Crackamoni timeee! Haha great to see Sam again, is was kinda akward in the christmas special...
Two or three days then I can't take it no more on that note car washes have a spot free Rinse that is very light spray that works well on softening muddy material. - Utah Rider
I'm getting the feeling that this vid is what Sam shot before getting a bit smashed on the Christmas Dirt Shed Show. 😂 Either there was a sound of a heart nearly breaking, or insane post-shoot hilarity.
Hubby does the power washer method not only in his bicycle but his motorcycles as well, then wonders why things break/fail (electronics, bearings, hydraulics , etc). For a guy with a mechanical background, he’s got a few “gaps”. 😂
I never clean my bike. A ride in the rainy roads gets rid of most of the mud accumulated overtime. I take good care of my mech tho, not much dirt left there.
I find road water to be very hard on my skin if I leave it there let alone on my poor dying bike, especially in the winter time because it picks that salt up off the road too and that will literally eat your paint if you leave it for a couple days on anything not powder coated.
Once my bike got so muddy the tires got stuck and i couldn't even ride it, so i washed it in a river and it worked pretty good, didn't have eny problems
What's the longest your bike has been without getting a scrub?
Ow.....weeks.....mud has its beauty

Well months, because it's so snowy and freezing that I don't need to wash my bike in the whole winter at all!!
My bmx
3 years, and yes I used it as a mountain bike as I couldn't afford one
It used to get fully caked on the daily
Few weeks 😂
My heart hurts just watching this...
Then our job here is done!
i was literally scrubbing dried mud off my bike then got a notification for this
@@jamie-kd9tx :)
Heart doesn't hurt!
lol
4:53 did Blake just say thank you for washing this video?
Marc Moore I was about to say
Marc Moore 👌😁
Yep
yep
Its his accent thats makes it sound like that
Liking the pilgrim / samson dynamic.... awesome
My first thought, too! I would love to see what the 2 of them can come up with for riding content.
Yes the 2 best mountain bikers on RUclips
Edit: I forgot about Seth’s Bike Hacks. He’s good to.
Best duo ever!
To honest I regularly blast my Giant Anthem down and its onto. Its 5th year and going strong. I avoid spraying directly on the forks/shock/bearings etc. Seems to be fine.
“Thank you so much for washing this video!” 😂
i heard the same thing lmao
I thought I heard it wrong lol
that was so painful to watch!!!!
Then our job here is done!
*wash
Yall are mad about this cleaning techniques
I still can't get over that brake squeal
Me too. I thought one of them had rubber pad calliper brakes.
That’s my brakes normally when they’re wet lol
I cried at the brushes wash 😢
The pressure washer in my opinion is the best way to get rid of mud, but you have to be cautious around bearings.
What kind of rich bloke can afford to waste a Monster cleaning their bike? I'd rather drink it and then try to pee on my bike. It would be "cleaner" after all.
LOL
A bloke who's sponsored by Monster!
@@mattgies Good point.
lmao
no bikes were harmed in the making of this video
Alex Savvas up the mighty tigers
I wish that was true ;)
Ayyy Tigers! Straya
4:53 thank you very much for washing this video😂 i have to say Blake is by far my favourite and funniest rider
Sam and Blake....when you know it won't be a serious video! 😁
‘For Sale - pristine condition full sus MTB, one careful owner...honest guv’.

I bet Doddy was crying watching this!
The bike was crying

Car washes are fine. Just don't use the concentrated jet and you'll be more than fine.

I love these funny videos, ESPECIALLY WITH SAM PILGRIM!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Cheers Tomi!
You can use the jet wash but just don’t get it too close because it will hurt your bearings
You sure can!
sorry guys I apologize I had a bad day and vented on you, my bad. love everything you lot do for us.
Lol i cracked up at 2:06 CRACK A MONNY A CLOCKKKK!

How did that crack you up it's just cringe
Sam is crazy
@@lewisharrison2124 why isnt it fun to have a laugh
Lol! Coming next: cover it in Cillit Bang and run it on the back of a truck through a car wash 🔥
Thanks for washing 😂

2:05 when a Kyle gets into mountain bikes
I hope Doddy hasn't watched this video, and if he does will GMBN pay for his mental health counseling? I know I'm losing my mind. Entertained, sure.... that's a word, lol.
My guess is that doddy was asked to clean and regrease all the bearings...
Poor doddy

If a jet wash isn’t good, how come all trails have a jet wash washing station
The whole "jet washes are bad for your bike" thing is just a myth these days.
Monster>muc off
Some of these genuinely hurt to watch, so good job lads 😂.
Iam so happy that Sam Pilgrim is in this video he is my favorite MTB rider
I didn't expect you guys to actually do it
Um when I went to Leogang there was a river right near the bike park. I was there when a race was on and many people were washing there bikes in the river. But I guess it was fresh water straight of the mountain. So it wasn’t as bad.
Haha I know that river too
Still not ideal!
Also not great for the river...
Chris Murray true
Johannes F. You from there?
4:54 “thank you for washing this video”
I fell into a stream once. My bike was pretty clean afterwards.
A ride in deep fresh snow works great.
Sam is the specialist with those things
I just love how they tell you just how bad these methods are and then they screw up their components and frames with these methods
Sam Pilgrim is a great example of what not to do hahaha!!!
If using pressure washed, use a spray mode and have some distance and it should, better than a full jet close to the bearings, ONLY blast the tires
The ledge Sam pilgrim......to the skyyyyyyy
My favorite rider duo of all times is at it again ! Pilgrim made me cringe with the monnie on the bike tho 😂😂
Nice one with the monster Technique Sam!
The torque is beautiful
ah the classic monny and brush. Great video boys
As usual thanks for the tips, save me a fortune on products
Hi great video guys. Have you guys done a how to wash them properly if not they would be great. Keep up the great videos 👍
Yep we've got that a few times! Check over our maintenance archive!
Did he say, "thanks for washing this content". I was screaming no! with the sea water.
Blake and Sam are a super funny pair.
That was pretty funny. I bet Haibike looked like this 😱 when Sam chucked his eeeb in that pool! 🛁🚽🛁❗️
Who needs water when you've got Brawndo - The Thirst Mutilator...………….It's got electrolytes
It's what plants want

I like how he posted this in the winter (at least for me)
That whole thing made me very uncomfortable..
Nice boys very funny 😂
And informative now I know how to wash my bike. Keep um coming
So Monster and a broom it is. Thanks for the tips.
Scott Gallo 🤣🤣🤣
Best mtb cycle brand
4:55 I see your pun there Blake!
It is truly hard when you are washing your bike and suddenly is Crackamoni timeee! Haha great to see Sam again, is was kinda akward in the christmas special...
I love it how Sam goes mental when he sees a monster can
4:54he said thank you for washing the video😂😂😂😂
I rode through a river once, then opened up the hub bearings and at least a couple tablespoons of water came out
The new “Try not to Cringe” challenge.
To everyone that disliked the video:
They sacrificed their own bike to show you what not to do and now you're disliking the video?
I died when Sam just threw his
E bike in the puddle
Blake and Sam. A potential comedy act...
*Did you say "Thank you very much for washing this video..."?* Hahahah
MTB Life Croatia Hahahaha I did
Respect+ for making all of these bad things by yourself to your own bike
This hurt to watch. But I loved the "CRACK A MONNIEEE!!!!!!!!" hilarious
GMBN: Don't do this! *Does it*
The monster drink got me 😆
Sam got a style roughest MTBer is the world
Canyon torque... That dream bike !
I cried watching this!
That’s how i always cleaned my bmx as a kid. Streams were cleaner 30 yrs ago.
Thank you very much for washing this video
2:05 CRACK A MONNY 😁😁
4:40 Water can go inside your wheel bearings, right?
Thank you very much for washing this Video
This is like the bike version of Wilstin Diesel

ERNIE PREPARES TO COMIT A HATE CRIME
Tomorrow is park day, whilst im here 12 o clock at night watching how not to wash my bike... Great xD

Should have added Sams dance music when he cracks open that monster energy drank!
I love the squeaky brakes

How to clean bike
Philgrim:yes
I wonder how much it hurt Blake, Samson, and the GMBN crew to make this video

3:06 to 3:10 Is quite therapeutic
Ride on dry days only in the dirt -- that could save you the added fuss and bother and time consumption used to ride your bike more.
Doddy's going to be busy after this!
No why my heart is melting
It hurt to watch him put monster on the seals of his fork😭😭
