San Diego has many hidden gems that don’t get advertised on the tour websites but Jay did a great job mentioning some of the best hidden gems. Good job bro!
Fellow San Diegan here. Thanks for showing off our beautiful city. The swing is back up. It gets taken down once in a while to get replaced with a new on for variety. Theres actually 5 more swings near the birch one all within walking distance. I think originally there was only 3, but over the years people started adding more for fun.
I live in San Diego and some of these spots are so over looked while I drive or have been in the areas and now it gave me a spark to find them and explore! Thank you this is the content I love to see!
@@Thughes88 Its right before the bridge. Gotta jump over and go down to get to the swing. Seen a lot of people go down there but never knew why, looks scary. Its in the "Coast Walk Trail". The trail itself is a beautiful as well. Leads to the Cave store.
I’m always looking for free ways to explore San Diego with our kids, so I really appreciate you making this Hidden Gem series!! And bonus points for Filipino hidden gems as well!!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 You did a great job!
We just moved here in SD a little over a year ago and just started exploring. These are really cool spots! Thanks for sharing awesome content! Looking forward to more like this! 🤙
We did too! Hope you bought a place. The real estate here is a great investment and will be appreciating fast in 2021. My Wife is in real estate here after 18 years in Northern California.
I'm a little late in replying, but every hiker in San Diego needs to get Afoot and Afield San Diego County by the incredible Jerry Schad (RIP) and Scott Turner. Soon many hidden gems from deserts, mountains, beaches, and inland/canyons!
My daughter and I just went to Civita Park two days ago. But we parked at the bottom of the park. It was definitely a hike to go up the stairs to get to the tunnel. But it was worth it. Surprised how clean it's been maintained. Even the bathrooms smelled good, compared to like Coronado.
@@Jaycation While in college at UCSD I lived in a rental on Herschel. I used to go running either up and over Mt Soledad or for a shorter route I'd run tot the start of coast walk past the Cove, Boomers, and the Children's pool to Nautilus up Nautilus past the Jr High and then cut through a neighborhood back to Herschel. One day there was an earthquake and a storm the same day. The rain had been light so I figured I'd run along coast walk that night. I'm bebopping along enjoying runner's high when I get to the stairs to a short bridge to cross to the next cliff. I hit the second step and realize there is NO BRIDGE three steps down! I almost ran off the cliff and dropped to the rocks below. The earthquake had taken out the bridge. Fortunately I was able to stop on time. They put up caution signs the next morning Never ran Coast walk in the dark again!!

We hope to get there again soon - maybe 2022ish. But these are all great spots for us to look up when in town. Especially loved the mural tunnel.
