The fact that while you were grabbing onto his fin he brought you up for a moment for you to breathe really shows how intelligent these creatures are
I forgot that,that’s amazing. ❤
well to be fair whales don’t have gills they also come up for air
@ayeron6576yeah but he realised we need to breathe too and that we arent just some fish
Not to mention how it knew to bring her to the boat when the tiger shark was coming in, despite seeing her in the water he knew humans stand on boats usually
3 things tell u the intellectual depth of humpback whales.
1. It knew tiger sharks will eat ppl.
2. It knew she was a mammal. This is likely due to the fact that they have a massive sonar print that can penetrate thru soft bodied animals in the water, & can use it to see the swim bladders of fish from some distance away. It has prolly pinged enuf humans to see they have lungs inside, like other whales & dolphins, not swim bladders like fish, & can fully differentiate & match the sonar print with the lungs as not unlike itself, like a small whale or like other mammal. This is why it surfaced her for air. It also knows baby humpbacks can't hold their breath for very long, & this tiny land mammal even less.
3. It took her right back to the boat. Knowing ppl should b on boats, the deep water is too dangerous for tiny mammals. There r massive predators around here, u going back on the boat where its safe for u, even if I have to fin launch u onto the deck! Silly tiny mammal! 😆
Note to self: If a humpback whale tries to place you on top of its head, let it. There's probably a really good reason it's doing that.
Note to self : if a killer whale does this your just a new hat for it
There is not a single reported incident of a killerwhale injuring a human out in the wild.
Only in captivity and attacking your kidnappers is so understandable and deserved, I have no complaints there. But in the wild they tend to feed humans as they think we're cute pets that are unable hunt for themselves lacking fins.
@2b_or_not_2b_4gotten yea they are cool but have you seen the kind of shit they do to seals? Its not hard to see why
@blazenthunder3165 have you seen what a dog can do to a small animal?
@2b_or_not_2b_4gotteneh, that might be true, but with them starting to attack boats (admittedly probably in reaction to a human action), I'd not want to put money on that any time soon...
She seems like someone a whale would save. Respect gets respect
he's porbably in a can of tuna now
I wish all of us humans could be like this….
Bless you.
She really does.
Are you proud of this comment?@astroboirap
Seeing your dog you haven’t seen for 6 months. -exactly what the whale thought.
I pray that the world makes a bigger effort to reverse the damage to our oceans so we don’t lose incredible creatures like these.
I pray with you
Prayer alone won't save anyone or anything.
who cares if they die then they deserve it
We have so much to learn from all creatures great and small and we just keep destroying their homes with little to no thought. It's so incredibly sad.
If we want things to change, we all have to make an effort to halt the consumer capitalist society which is the primary destroyer of ecosystems
Imagine getting to snuggle a whale that deliberately saved your life a year prior
that has to be the most incredible experience a human has ever had
truly ❤
💯💯💯ugh now im crying and jealous!
Crazy how much compassion they can still have for humans after centuries of being hunted to near extinction by us. Truly the gentle giants of the sea.
Commercial Whaling is an absolute crime!! However for small tribes such as Inuits I totally understand as it’s a key food source for them. But for us folks with wider resources and alternatives
absolutely not.
@danielanderson2331
Agree. So much of what we do is greed based and wanton.
We had a whale encounter off Surfers Paradise, and we saw how they looked like they wanted to hang around right next to our boat, for awhile,... but not doing anything to frighten us.. they swam 90 degrees to the boat and had a long look at us too 😍
@danielanderson2331*so they can’t hunt fish? Where there’s whales there’s fish*
Unconditional love
Not sure why I’m crying, but this is so touching. The raw beauty that life has to offer.
Same 🥹🥹🥹
Funny because the whale is looking at her like we would look at a puppy or cat lol. Hes like aww theyre so little
lol 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
kinda cringe but oaky kid
@MithllonSaullonI know it's hard being 14 years old but just stay off the Internet for another 10 years until you're fully 'yourself' and then come back here. Theres no use making idiotic and pointless comments like this at your age, you'll only come to regret them
@MithllonSaullonare you ill?
Whales are incredibly emotional beings. They mourn the loss of their loved ones, they cry, they sing hauntingly beautiful songs, and they pass down knowledge and culture through generations. They live in tight-knit communities, form lifelong bonds, and show deep empathy. Killing whales isn't just 'hunting' it's murder. It's the destruction of sentient, intelligent lives who feel pain, grief, and love just like we do. We must treat them with the respect they deserve.
Very nicely said
Many animals are like that. Elephants come to mind. I saw a video of an elephant who loved to paint. Her handler would dip the brush with paint, the E would take it with her trunk and proceed to paint. The E painted a great picture of....................another elephant! Not only that but signed the painting, which I thought was better than I could do. Please NEVER BUY ANYTHING OF IVORY. Ivory means the death of at least 1 elephant.
Gorillas are smart also as well as Chimps.
And what makes it worse, that they don't directly compete with us. We have no need to kill them, except for food and industry. They cannot war against us, and we have no need for them as a resource. Truly, that makes it murder.
Killing any animal is really sad.
Their songs are so beautiful!
That whale really just was like
“Tiny thing you do not die here today”
Awww! Your comment brought a little tear to my eye! I'll bet that's EXACTLY what he was thinking! ❤
Lol
Reminds me of trying to save an ant from drowning and not crush it 🦦
the whale was like "I'm gonna go to the pound and pick a human!"
👍🤣🤣💯
It blows me away how gentle the whale was. Very intelligent animals and to believe that we almost wiped them out and they still like humans ❤😊
And that the Japanese still whale ugh
@AliciaGentileJapanese will eat anything that doesn't eat them first 😂
The way she told the whales “I love you too! I love you!” Felt so passionate and magical. I hope they heard her
Exactly! Brought me to tears ❤
Right?! 🥹
He did
You can bet they DID hear her. ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL !
Oh they know !
The fact she saw him twice and the second time he looked at her and played with her is honestly AMAZING!!!
@Patrick I mean serious shit ma friend
@Patrick there's a war against race and nationality I've gotta fight in, I gotta kill others who go against my beliefs.
What if it was because he saw a shark and wanted to protect her from it AGAIN ? 🤔
@Patrick hey why are you offended by something that is made to PROTECT people ? 🙄🙄
@Patrick dude sort out your problems or take the triggerdness somewhere else. Go start beef on a fox or cnn video and not on sweet real whale stories.
@demonized history was that necessary
It's amazing that the whale saved her from the shark. It's even more amazing that he remembered her a year later and interacted with her the way he did.
True love finds no limits, and it is a classical case.
@ShakeelAhmad-vh7iv well said Ahmad👍
Was this story based on Avatar?
no video evidence of the shark in any of the videos. Also if there was a shark she wouldnt have left her legs dangling in the water when she got in the boat. I call bs and everyone bought into it haha
@johnmccormack2046 No footage of the shark because she said it was only while turning out of glimpse from her eye that she recognized it - and then the whale immediately picked her up on his face. So no time to either put the camera back on (it is obvious that she did not film the whole time through) or stay staring at the upcoming shark.
Those wales were still too close to the boat and protecting it & her when her feet were still dangling in the water - that shark would not have dared an attack within the first minute.
You had the best of them too. Humpbacks are the superhero’s of the oceans. Nobody (human or animal) gets hurt around them if they can help it.
Whales are often documented saving other animals from predators. They are empathetic towards animals other than their own species which is a sign of high intelligence.
Yea ok Orcas are insane they arent like that at all they are the predators so not all whales
@Marina E Why did you say that as if she was talking directly to you? There are a lot of ppl that DON'T know that. 💀💀
nooooooooope3809?
@nooooooooope3809 You tried it with that overused question. You need to ask the person that tried to be a smartass over a general comment. 😂
Awwww I love them, they are beautiful creatures
9:23 the feeling is mutual. Maybe it is amazed also by its interaction with humans.
There was definitely a connection. It might be altruistic at first but later he greeted her quite lovingly, I envy her experience 😭
Who here is cutting onions?!
right? :{{
😂
Maybe the cameraman..
😭🥰
"little cousin of the land, it is not safe for you here. cling to me, i will take you home"
It probably tried to put itself between the tiger shark and her, so as to disarm a natural conflict.
Its scary to think that we aren't the only ones that can go against natural instincts.
Nice writing
corny af
@clad_in_skinthen why u here Lil bro?
@vinstual9830 "lil bro" you are not tough 😂
these are highly intelligent marine mammals, we should be protecting them at all cost
You want to invade Japan again?
@PROVOCATEURSK ocean fallout from climate change is currently their largest threat
Tell that to the japanese fishermen
Not just intelligent, truly caring!! They should be completley off limits for hunters, as should many species...but especially these guys!!
People should stop taking omega 3 vitamin which is made from whale food source.
This is astounding. The whale tried to first hide the human under it's fin. Then thought it wasn't working out, so decided to push the human out of the water using it's head. Extraordinary. It's not just intelligence, but also empathy & heart. God bless these beautiful creatures. I also wonder if the whale would have done the same for a seal or a sea lion?
She Say that whales that this for others animals
You say _"humans"_ as if you're one of the sea creatures watching from a few corals away.
.....🐙
Supposedly they do.
STOP DEMONETIZING PEOPLE
There's evidence these brilliant altruistic whales also rescue other animals like seals from orcas as well.
7:38: I cried at this…
Same
The fact that some people can really hunt these beautiful and wonderful creatures breaks my heart
ruclips.net/video/_tk-Ccfy_X8/video.html
Beautiful Double big rainbow 🌈 ❤️🌈
Best nature Capture 👍♥️
Japan does
The fact that its Asian people hunting sharks and whales for food, as well as other endangered species shows that restriction need to be placed on Asian countries.
@theoutdoorolly please just don’t place hate on Asian people as a whole, it’s only a very select few people that commit the act, and takes place in Iceland as well for example.
@mattkase8880 But Japan is the chief culprit by far
I'm actually in tears.... this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard. This is the relationship we should foster with all creatures on earth
Perfectly 💯
Depending g species yes
My own tears are not so far. I am sure there is a kind of special link between us, mammals coming from the sea, and sea mammals. Something wich is different than links we have with other mammals. 😮😊
Even better the whale saved a person who is trying to save whales. Karma.
This made me so emotional. What an incredible encounter that turned into a beautiful relationship. 🐋 ❤
Whales are like elephants of the sea. So much emotion! Loyalty, empathy and gentleness. We humans should take a lesson from these God given creatures.❤
Yes, elephants of the sea!
Recently saw video of a female elephant trying to shove a rhino stuck in mud out to safety AND a pack of lions were closing in.
She wasn't able to move the exhausted rhino and ultimately left it to the lions.
But she tried with everything she had. That was true altruism and courage.
I was gonna say the same thing About elephants along with whales.
I always said elephants are like whales of the land
Sorry your god created nothing. Whales are one of the most obvious proof of evolution out of the animal kingdom. Get an education and learn about it instead of being delusional.
I know it's easy to forget but humans are the most altruistic species on the planet. We are the only ones that actively work to prevent other animals from dying/going extinct. Mind you in some cases we're also the reason some animals go extinct but at the same time, more species have completely died out than currently exist
People cant really understand how she felt as scientist
Not only is the story exceptional; but so is this woman’s presence. You can tell she is radiating what life is all about - choosing to do what you love each and every day. God bless.
And, I suspect, she walks through (and swims ) life in a sacred, awed and humble way.
Absolutely she is the rare exception where this majestic mammal know that she respectful of them and care for life in general These magnificent creature are in tune with the orchestral quarks sound waves in us we are are made up of She is on their frequency indeed
@robinalecia7554

I agree 100% with everyone here, Couldn’t have said it better!
Love this comment.
The whale was persistent to get her to safety and then to remember her and spend time with her a year later. What an amazing story!
I totally agree with an amazing story and beautiful and caring whale god bless him from bottom of my heart.
I believe it is God showing his kindness to somebody who has devoted her life as a scientist to the ocean and its sea creatures.
@JohnO318 Absolutely! And for us to witness how profound is his creation.
i really think that only old nativ cultures knew about that kind of bond. animals were brothers and sisters to us. we ,oh so smart computer generation know nothing. we are only here to destroy. Only a few of us, like this woman, still have these kind of antennas
@JohnO318 it wasn't god showing kindness, it was an animal showing kindness and altruism.
What a privilege to have that kind of experience. My heart skipped a beat.
ruclips.net/video/_tk-Ccfy_X8/video.html
Beautiful Double big rainbow 🌈 ❤️🌈
Best nature Capture 👍
I know everybody speaks about privilege, but the word you're looking for is probably luck.
noun
a special right, advantage, or immunity granted or available only to a particular person or group.
Then you need to go get your EKG cause your gonna have a attack soon ….
But it's just an exaggerated story by a woman with no scientific credentials and blown out of proportion by a media apparatus that wants to sensationalize a story of cross species altruism. I mean you can get excited about an elderly woman swimming with whales that was possibly near a shark, maybe, but it kinda just makes you look gullible.
Definitely my dear friend so tell me can we be friends
i’ve just seen avatar fire and ash and this is 1000% the real life version of Pandora’s Tulkun. wish we can talk to them the way they do in the movie-can only imagine the stories we would exchange. can’t help but feel guilty too the way billionaires and mega corporations are destroying the one planet we share with them but alas, i am just another person on the internet leaving a comment on a youtube video
As a surfer, this has happened to me once with dolphins that swam around me at a small distance. I was just as clueless about the behavior, until I saw a shark fin with it’s tail swaying side to side on the outer perimeter of the circling dolphins. It was a magical and sacred moment. I was so thankful and humbled by the experience. Thank you for sharing this and showcasing the altruistic behavior of nature. ❤🤙🏾🏄🏾♂️🐬🐋🐳
Thank you for sharing YOUR experience ❤
Do sharks eat dolphins?
Amazing story!
Thanks for the share!
I'm sure you will see him again❤
@cockeyedoptimista Shark eat everything living.
@whateverforever5910 That's what I thought, lol. But aren't the dolphins in a lot of danger then?
We keep looking up in search of "intelligent life" when actually we share a planet with so much intelligence right here on Earth.
Correct, although the intelligence is not usually found walking on the pavement 🙂
In a couple thousand years, if humanity hasn't ended itself, we'll probably be able to manufacture higher-level intelligent life out of octopi, whales, dolphins, pigs, etc. over relatively short timelines (like maybe a hundred years).
For example, a watered-down version we could try today:
Background - a certain species of octopus is capable of passing knowledge between members, but they aren't capable of passing knowledge down generationally because of the strong instinct mothers have to protect an egg clutch until they hatch, never leaving to hunt or eat and in experiments even refusing food provided to it. She always dies right after they hatch and they must all fend for themselves and learn via trial by fire.
Experiment - If we just shoot the mother with some sort of dart-delivery mechanism that injects vital nutrients into it, say once a week or something, what would happen? Would she still just die? Would she live on and teach her young, potentially accelerating their growth & development and permanently altering their species' evolutionary timeline? Would she just eat a bunch of her own kids and then die for seemingly no reason?
Lotta ethical and moral questions arise from experiments like these, but fuck that noise how cool would it be to help evolve intelligent dolphin people or sentient land-squids? I sure hope we don't nuke ourselves to the stone age so we can maybe find out one day! Heck maybe that's how we'll end our own species, by enabling one superior to evolve beyond control (that isn't an AI singularity).
@murkantilism Changing their intelligence into something we can more easily understand isn’t necessary. These animals are perfectly intelligent for their world. I think we should just try harder to understand them.
@N R 100%
Well said ❤️
Whales really are gentle giants, it even came back to see if she's alright. They all deserve love in return.
Yes!
Yes agreed
They are not just giants.. Like no brain giants 😂 they are mammals same with humans.. Probably a more high intelligence cuz of their big brains
@Alysia Williams huh bigger brains means more capacity to store some knowledge and they are mammals like us but they can't speak, no hands and feet.. Scientists said that if an alien from another planet will visit the earth they will probably communicate with whales because of their complex communicating ability
@daijhin3064 Larger size, yes, but fewer wrinkles. To overly-simplify, it's the wrinkles that determine complexity/intelligence. Koala brains are almost completely smooth, and we can see the ramifications of that in their eating habits; Koalas legit won't recognize eucalyptus leaves if the leaves aren't attached to a tree and will starve to death with a pile of the leaves right in front of 'em.
The humpback whale definitely saved her life!
Animals are the angels we all seek.
Nah. Angels guide the whales.
We all don’t seek angels at all and they’re certainly not angels.
He was so happy to see her still alive, whales are most certainly the most caring individuals on the planet.
@Hello-ig1pxWe said we're happy about the whales. Chill tf out 😂
INDIVIDUAL IMPLIES HUMAN. ITS AN ANIMAL
@leelunk8235 And that whale is still better than most humans.
@midnight.moonrise27 THAT'S NOT THE POINT
@leelunk8235 I'm not the one to preach to, choose a different comment.
The whales eyes were full of emotion it’s crazy, the eyes are so human like when seen from up-close
I'm pretty sure it translated as "Get on the dang boat, holy crap!"
It's like looking into the eye of an elephant.
Beautiful eyes! I had no idea their eyes were so beautiful.
Right?!
This is a phenomenon called anthropomorphisizing. Meaning you project human characteristics onto animals. This animal is nowhere near human except that it is a mammalian vertebrate with above average empathy. But hey can't stop the trained seals from clapping for fish (likes)
I just cried and cried with the heart full of love and compassion
“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.” - Anatole France
Wow that's really quite poignant! This entire comments thread is spectacular and not full of the usual cancer, which in and of itself really speaks volumes about the video itself.
@Miki Miyazaki; Is that were that mutant drumpf came from?
Loving an animal is sort of like expressing gratitude to God for His creation and appreciating what God has given us. His creation is even greater than we originally realize when we come to know it’s not just about us humans. The mammals that He made can love too, they have their own feelings and emotions. Just like how much they love their babies and how they mourn when one dies. Whale mothers who have a calf die will carry their dead baby on their head for days and you know they are grieving. I had a toy poodles who lost two puppies and she grieved so bad that our whole family were crying with her when she finally put the dead baby in my hand and dove in my arms and buried her head and literally sobbed. I learned that dogs learn words and they can read us like a book. Our horses and cats have shown great intelligence also.
@patsmith5947; You talk and cling to ancient nonsense like a beleaguered child. Oh this is well within your right but to keep propagating such psychotic, insecure nonsense is truly dangerous, no matter how hard you just want and need to believe. Ignorant seditious preacher boy's, mostly concerned for their own livelihood have pumped their congregations of drumpf into being the chosen one, and fools ate it up, thinking some ancient hobgoblin had their backs, putting our very Democracy at risk! It is time we deal in REALITY! For one thing a lot of people have very little understanding of animals, and look at them as dumb and stupid, when in reality it is they themselves that are the real ignorant ones. Animals can see, hear, yell, feel and sense situations ten times better than any human, but we cannot grasp that. I am glad that you at least had such a deep experience with an animal, however sad.
@patsmith5947 who gives a shit about god lmao imagine being the whale saving this person from the shark and then she goes "thank you god!!! you saved me!!!"
I cried with her when she cried about the whale coming back to see her. That's pure love, right there
Me too ..
me too!
I still can’t stop 😢
get him sone food
Me too 🥹
Whales are such divine beasts. We must protect them at all costs
get him sone food
Sadly, Japanese be like: it tasted good...
beast? they are smarter then humans.
@Whit-mh9nt I was about to comment exactly that. We're the beasts that destroy everything.
Yes, even if it means destroying the planet.
What a blessing she experienced.
She was rewarded for all these years of hard work. And mother nature deemed her rewarding.
Oh crap, that made me cry a lot.
@Discordia5 my bad
deemed her rewarding?
@ganjalfcreamcorn8438There,s always 1?Yeah you.
That Mother Nature bull crap ain’t real God saved her by sending a whale
Her saying “who misses a whale?!” Is so sweet she truly still can’t believe this all happened to her and it’s so special
Whales are the most caring creatures in the ocean. I was snorkeling with 2 friends off the shore of San Clemente Island in California when I was in the military. Two gray whales put themselves between us and some sharks until we got out of the water. That was both scary(sharks) and beautiful (whales)at the same time. We went out the next year and saw those whales again. They are magnificent creatures with souls (I believe) of angels.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience.
@yxunny wow, you got all of that from a typo? SMH
@dominiqueroy9512 what's a gachtuber?
@johnschoen703 A gachatuber is someone who uses the program Gacha Life to create videos on RUclips.
@yxunny That's because the majority of them are young children who want to express themselves creatively, but do not know how to draw or write stories very well yet. Because they have not yet finished high school (or, in many cases, even begun high school), their grammar is not the best. If you think a child's grammar is cringe, picking on children for their method of expressing themselves is about as cringe as it gets.
Your souls are connected, by love, you and the beautiful whale who saved you
Thank you. I needed a cry. I hope you get to see your friend again. I hope he is protected. I hope all whales are protected and can thrive in pristine waters as was intended for them.
The way she talks about this experience makes me feel like I was there. Those are moments she will never forgett
“A humongous whale nudged me to safety to save my life. I hugged the whale and was hugged back.”
Absolutely Priceless.
I'm crying Just seeing you tell the story again!!! It's so miraculous! All the sludge in this world and you see something like this or you experience something like this. Nothing else matters.
I know this feeling. I have had a manatee lift me clear out of the water as a shark passed right through the spot I had just been. It was incredible. Sea mammals are full of surprises. Thanks for sharing!
@J van Sevenhoven 🤣🤣🤣
@J van Sevenhoven / Bwwwhahahahahahahha.....Dude, if your wife See's this, your gonna be on the Sofa for a year!!
Wow
@J van Sevenhoven I...💀💀💀

"Who misses a whale?" A compassionate person, that's who. If you've ever loved a pet dog, cat, lizard, or whatever; you know how that feels.
my cat hasn't come home agian for 3 days now so ok
@DnVFMVs I took your cat
Yea u. Will in. Heaven & he will talk to u
My favorite whale is a Lizzo.
Can you really love a lizard? You can try keeping a Komodo dragon as a pet but eventually it will try to eat you
I read somewhere the locals call her the "Whale Witch" (and that was before they saved her that day). I think the whales truly love her and know she's there to help them, that day they were able to get her. Beautiful story.
💚💚💚
It's true. She did a video 5 years ago on the dodo on RUclips. I was about to see it when I saw this one and I like this one better because they have a continuation that she got to reunite with her friend.
@jkseraphim4thank you for confirming, it's beautiful story and I was overjoyed with the update too, I totally understand her feeling it was too sacred to share but I'm so glad she did.
@stephwade8737You're welcome!😊🥰
Even better, call her a whale whisperer. (I’m in tears, as well! Happy-moved-thrilled-kind-of-tears!)
I believe you, what a beautiful story. I’m crying.
Whales have empathy, emotion and a huge heart for other animals. They are mighty creatures. This video made me cry. #SaveWhales
Whales have huge hearts, period.
So the most intelligent and empathetic are the largest animals in both Land and Ocean.
I’m crying too. That whale saved her for nothing. The whale just did something because they are truly good creatures. That shows true intelligence. I hope he lives a long and happy life in the ocean. I wish they all could live a long and happy life.
@itscharlottehongnotfoundan8853you’re right. I wish they could talk. Then maybe we’d be kinder to them
Dear Megan, Ur right. They are truly good creature. I wish that too. I wish he lives a long and happy life. @meganbella8262
Just look at how wide his eyes were. It is so obvious he was directly communicating the urgency/danger, right at Nan. How amazingly deliberately he gently moved her around for so long - empathy indeed. Best of all, their mind-blowing reunion the following year.
Based on your vast experience diving with whales how could you be wrong?
Remarkable 💯💕
Oh, I believe that whale formed a bond with that woman and came back to see her the next year.
Truly amazing!
This gotta be one of the most beautiful marine life stories ever shared on RUclips!!!
Same opinion🥲💖
This video melted my heart 💯
It is a True story of "Love in Nature" in which the Hero is a male whale and the heroin our Nan, who still misses Him.
Only sad part is that sharc is portrayed as evil :/
@ShakeelAhmad-vh7iv oh bless
@thomasmuller546 Well it waaas going to eat her 😉
Meanwhile the whale was making a touching documentary about the human it saved coming back to see him again
7:08: I wouldn't have even thought to put on my suit, I would be in the water immediately 😂 What a sweet whale!
No you wouldn’t, lol. You’d freak out. They’re massive, I don’t think you get it. Also, their calls can literally kill you if you hear it underwater, it can vibrate you / heat you up to death. 😊
Salt of the earth type of woman. What a big heart. Her genuine love for the whales came through in this interview. I hope she is able to see the whale again. ❤
I cried as she told of her experience. How can whales still be kind to humans when we've hunted them to the brink of extinction, and still do? I am crying still.
The Chinese have no souls
Such selfless gentle giants.
IDK if it's true, but I heard about someone doing a study and using electrodes to measure animals brain waves when they are exposed to humans. They have the same reaction to us that we do to puppies and children.
We're babies to them.
Because thats natures way. Always giving and nurturing. We can all remember and practise that part of our nature too.
@jennifermoffett9866 Sadly that fact's not true; whales and elephants don't think we're cute
Imagine how great they are at being parents 🥹❤️
It doesn’t just say something about the whale. It’s speaks volumes about this woman and her heart.
and he knew it to
That whale would have saved you to, unless you were up to no good.
@disillusionedanglophile7680 the whale would definitely rescue them too. it didnt rescue her after judging her character, it just helped her because it felt that she needed to be saved.
@dr.doctor2620 it's possible also that if this is a popular diving area the whale is used to people and knows they're friendly, which could be why it wanted to protect her, I mean, it knew to push her to the boat so clearly it knows that's where people go, though given how smart they are it could also just have seen her come from the boat or know sharks can't get here there.
@freshrimp9013 good point
I’ve been an active diver, living on the Gulf Coast, for well over 50 years, and that’s one of the coolest stories I’ve ever heard.
Meanwhile, somewhere deep in the sea:
- I'm gonna start crying just thinking about it. I really, truly do miss her... I mean who misses a human?
- Oh geez, Fred, not this again...
Lmaoooo
lmfaoooooo hilarious
😂😂🤣
😆😆😆 Good one.
Omg yassss😭😭 🤣🤣😂😂
This is probably the most incredibly moving nature video I've ever seen.
of all the moments in history, this is one I wish could be shared worldwide, for thousands of years. this is incredible.
She said it right “it’s sacred”. That’s probably why it makes her, me and other’s cry🥹, because it’s beautiful just to hear about it. I can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to witness it.
Right? She’s so blessed to have had that interaction, experience, and relationship with an aquatic being. So so blessed ❤
female biology must stop birthing criminals animals which hunt other animals ! warning
Why do I feel like her mama sent this whale? Especially with one of the last things she said was not to be eaten by one, maybe she was teasing because she knew something.
And she recognizes that divulging too much will only result in the exploitation for profit by some of us. That tranquil spot would exist no more, and likely the whale, too.
Absolutely right & I wish the media outlets would focus on bringing uplifting stories like this rather than the usual bad news every day.
Gave me goosebumps when he came back🥹🥰
This story had me sobbing, we don’t deserve animals. We need to do better for them and this planet 🌎💜
Well said! I cried as well. They were here first, and some of us are abandoning them.
Me three!😢
Me too. Such an amazing story that touched me to the depths of my being.
It's just lucky nothing serious in the story, that is my opinion!
Does worms, coakroches mosquitoes etc count as animals.
This story will remain in my heart forever! I'm so glad she was able to thank her rescuer! I was even happier to know he was able to see her!
This exactly!!!! The whale probably felt like how we’d feel when we see an animal we rescued doing well!!!!!
This woman is so lucky to have met a beautiful, majestic whale to protect her and share her unimaginable experience.
ITS SO MAGICAL LIKE WOAHHHH.... IS THIS A BARBIE MOVIE OR SOMETHING
@cursedGalataea yes please ❤️
Yeah but it's fake though? Like this story is fake I mean I'm sure she swam with a whale but it's highly unlikely it protected her from "a whale sized shark like omg!"
@beers468 you’re high
@virtueofabsolutionshe said it was a large shark that she thought was a whale from a DISTANCE. and whales and dolphins have protected divers surfers and each other before. you can look this stuff up instead of being a pessimistic loser 💀💀
It's amazing how beautiful this is.
"Who misses a whale"... a kind, empathetic, grateful person with a big heart who has appreciation for all creation.
Someone like her, devoted to protect and study nature deserved living such a moment with the creatures she loves the most. So beautiful.
This comment warmed my heart
Amen! Thought the same thing...
😊❤️
She deserves it all.
I'm a man and yet I'm crying.
That's beautiful. I love seeing his eyes up close. People don't even understand how generous massive animals like this are. They could swat us away like flies, but instead they take notice and zero in on other lives beyond themselves and give such kindness and benefit of the doubt. Better than humans, really.
I'm morbidly afraid of massive things especially animals but I know whales are amazing, I just don't want to be a disturbance. I went scuba diving and was so relieved to NOT see any whales lol 😅 I know that sounds crazy but they look even bigger underwater, everything looks large under water to me.
I would probably freeze if I saw a whale even knowing that they are gentle
Especially when you think about how us humans do swat animals smaller than us for no reason other than cruelty sometimes.
When I was a child I remember learning about whales being protective and kind and I called my mom a whale because of it, which of course she took as an insult at the time, but I'm so happy to tell her stories about whale kindness now lol
U said flies I thought ants....whew...
We so much need to learn from their behavior! In 2023 we are still having wars , we could so easily avoid !!!
I have heard stories of orcas protecting us from sharks also but I also remember a story of a pregnant woman stranded in the cold wilderness of Canada her car broke down she was surrounded by wolves and they kept her warm and saved her life❤.
First thing I saw on the Internet today. I feel lifted and caring, and hold life a little bit different after hearing her stories. Share this with a friend for sure!
Giants exist and some are genuinely kind. This is good news
As a professionally trained biologist and sports scuba diver for 50 years I am very thankful for the awesome , true life experiences that Nan Nauser has shared with us about her encounter with this very special humpback whale. This video should be shown in very college biology class in the world.
Yes!
This is an extraordinarily beautiful story that moved me to tears. Ms. Hauser is so lucky to have bonded with this whale that saved her life. And to see him again and be able to hug him and share that kind of emotion a year later is so serendipitous and sacred. I'd be blown away and at a loss for words, too. Truly, a miraculous experience.
Agreeeddd
This whale really must have thought -- in whatever way a whale thinks -- "I just can't bare to watch this poor thing get eaten!" and that is pretty special. Some humans do not even care that deeply about the other animals around them.
And others do.
Pity more don't.
Some humans don't even care about their own
Can you imagine if the whale took the national geographic cameraman motto, “let nature take it’s course, and don’t interfere with it”? Lmao
I think the whale was more like "no no, you belong here, upper world"
@leoalphaproductions8642
To be fair, humans ain’t a natural shark meal, a lion hunting a zebra is eating its normal prey.
Some Animals seem to have the ability to recognise good kind hearted souls
Incredible story, she’s so luck to have met him.
Lucky luck luck luck Girl 🙃😎
Or the maybe a Her.
@DADADANSOL ruclips.net/video/7BABQ_oO3Fg/video.html
That was absolutely the most incredible story I've ever heard.
The most mesmerizing feature on whales, are their eyes. Those deep, full of awareness, full of emotion and wise eyes. It's like all you need to see is their eyes to see what they're saying. So incredible.
can you imagine the grieving sounds they make, the whole ocean knows a whale died and hears their sad song...
when the whale carried the lady with his fin, that is a true connection there.
what a beautiful story. the end part got me teared up.
For real! The fact that it knew she needed to breathe too and kept her head up with its fin was God's love at work as well! I truly believe we have always supposed to been this way with animals, and I think we are heading back in that direction, we have a connection we can't explain
@ricardoburton7688 God? Its called natural evolution
@two2truths yeah whatever tho, you stick to your belief I ll stick to mine, ✌
@ricardoburton7688 claiming gods work here, which you have no proof of, is an insult to our scientific understanding of evolution and observations… it’s just kinda silly to see in 2022… 🤘🏼
this brought tears to my eyes. After all we've done to whales, and they're still willing to help us...
Absolutely!! That's why I. Always donate to protect these beautiful creatures
We ? Why do you include your self as part of evil people
@heveyweightheveyweight5399
Because humanity as a whole has exploited the whales for oil and meat for centuries.
That's because they know which of 'us' are the bad guys and who are the ones with loving souls who adore them.
the whales dont know what we're doing, they probably know the correlation between humans and small boats but probably not a whaling boat.
This is so beautiful. Brought tears to my eye's. It is so disgusting that many humans harm these beautiful creatures.
Yes. Our Father wants us to care for ALL His creation!
🙏💕❤️
@eileenmiller1204 execpt spiders
It’s sad but they are probably hunting these whales for food, money and fuel. One whale probably feeds thousands for a while and the oil is usually being used for fuel and heat. If people are killing these whales for fun that would be wrong. When you’re hungry and cold the whale might be the difference between life and death. Thank God that you’re not in this position. I would kill one if I needed to feed my village just like I would kill a shark or any other animal. Hunger makes people MAD!
It's one thing to be that intelligent but the altruism, you cannot find that in any land mammal. No, not dog at all, they're not an animal out of the blue that saves your life. Dogs are fed and that's why they bond, that is not altruism. Dogs are not friendly to strangers.
So very true !
Whales and dolphins have the same soul as we do.
Dolphins aren't as nice actually
How is she not crying? I'm studying Biology and I'm crying MY EYES out. Whales are so smart and sensitive and it's like they get humans so well.
Weirdo
she did
She did. Whales are awesome
Maybe because she a adult and not a little cry baby like you
It is beautiful ain't it?
I remember hearing about this story and believing every single word of this, but then to hear the whale came back and then recognizing her? That's really special, that whale is something you never forget, and the fact that he spent so long cuddling her and letting her sit on his pectoral fin is just remarkable. I'm literally tearing up.
I cried through all of it. I felt that love! That's huge. Punn intended.
I'm crying too.
I loved the fact that she felt that the encounter was "sacred". It reminded me that the sacred is right here in our own family, friends and backyard. In our daily experiences.
They've cut the audio of the original footage. She was pushing it and shouting get away, being a real Bch. She also said she was getting cut up from barnacles under the Whales fin. That Whale has no barnacles under it's fin as proven from the footage. She's lying.
@lauralishes1 yes, at first she said that - that was right at the beginning of their encounter. And what human being wouldn’t shout get away to a huge 70 foot humpback whale that is charging at you full speed? Once it was established what was going on she calmed down. Why would she jump BACK INTO THE WATER upon the second encounter if she was like you said “being a real bi**c? And why on God’s green earth would you try make some conspiracy out of this like she hated the whale? I swear it’s people like you that really do need mental help.
@geraltofrivia3344 (Their MAGAt hats are on too tightly).
@blackandgold676 your comment is equally as psychotic. You’re more obsessed with trump than people who voted for him.
@geraltofrivia3344 But mine was a joke, Dear, hers wasn't.
I’m crying my eyes out.
Me too. What an emotional beautiful story
The idea that whale might see us as cute little things is what keeps me alive.
That’s a cute way of putting it! Didn’t think of it that way lol
This is my favorite comment! Thanks.
@Catarina Vergueiro aww lol
Their version of a kitten rescue.
Seems like we are the wingless fairies of a whale's world😁
I can't believe that these whales are still hunted today, they are the most stunning creatures I've seen . They are awesome 👌
I know I hate when animals are hunted
@LathaFalls me too and the fact that those people who are killing then make that stupid excuse that they hunt them for experimentation is a huge lie because they are eating them. They’ve been told to stop eating them because they contain huge amounts of mercury
I wish I could help completely stop Japan who says they catch whales for scientific study but have ships that have whale harvesting equipment like a factory onboard... Plus they drag huge nets on the sea bottom and pulverize all structures, it's found completely ruined. Look it up on RUclips... there is video. A cam is attached to a dragnet showing the destruction. Then there is Norway (or one of the Scandinavian countries) and probably Russia keeps it legal and I can imagine China, even Eskimos shouldn't be allowed to kill a single whale 🐋. ⁸🐳. All those animals up north have a hard enough time keeping numbers up...
Japan, China and Some parts in Europe
I know it!! Makes you sick to your stomach.
This story made me cry so much!
"Altruism in humpback whales about how humpback whales have altruistic behavior towards other animals,not just their own species but other animals. Altruism is a true act of kindness,when you protect someone without asking or expecting anything in return."
Yeah I was blown away by that definition too 🙂
But that’s not why altruism exists in nature. It was proven multiple times that this behaviour is the most effective one evolutionary. It exists because of the whales unconscious egoistic instinct to reproduce and survive by itself. Indirect it is indeed expecting something in return. Because of this video whales in general receive more love from humans so it’s survival strategy worked out here very well.
😭 how blessed you are, having such a soul connection with this magnificent whale. 🙏
Animals are not property or 'things' but rather living organisms, subjects of a life, who are worthy of our compassion, respect, friendship, and support ♥.
He obviously sensed this woman's kindness and good spirit as well. What a beautiful experience for such a beautiful human being
Especially underwater where their wavelengths are stronger and the connection was made...
Call me crazy but I believe that it's possible. That animals can sense your spirit.
I thought that as well. She and the whale both good souls.
@haileygrey5047 so would the whale let the shark eat someone convicted of tax fraud or would it need to be drunk driving or his line in the sand is child abuse.
@tk9839 which wave lengths are they then? Is it the wave length that's longer or the wave that's stronger?.you tell me.
