Role of the dice? Dude, I always thought it was a roll of the dice. Not the first time I learned I was using wrong terms.
Comparing Kerr's hire to Reddick's is not accurate. Kerr played a long NBA Career and played for 2 of the Greatest NBA Coaches ever in Phil Jackson and Greg Poppovich. Kerr made it known near the end of his career he wanted to coach in the NBA and Popovich vouched for him. I enjoy Rich Eisen's show but sometimes the format annoys me with Rich playing Mister Positive and Chris playing the skeptic. The difference is this is Lebron's Hire and Lebron is far from his prime. Lebron's son announced going Pro knowing with his numbers no one will draft him and the Laker's will draft Lebron's son in the 2nd Rd of the NBA draft. The Laker's won't do anything until Lebron retires and the Team can move forward.
Hire Mike Krzyzewski as an assistant coach or consultant to help JJ Redick
Frankly, if the Lakers can just figure out how to stop destroying their non-LBJ & AD roster, ANY coach will look great.
This is just their way of making LeBron the player coach without breaking any rules
No other candidate was any more of a guaranteed hit other than DH, and he used the Lakers to get a raise. Darvin was supposed to be the next great thing and what happened. The guy has a trophy room with the thousands of time outs and challenges he refused to use, and all the clipboards he scribbled nonsense on. I'll take a chance on JJ.
another hc lebron adding to his fired coaching gauntlet
JJ supporters.
when the season ends and we’re all miserable with the outcome, make sure to hand in your fan cards.
Look. Who cares about the coach. The roster is going to determine where the Lakers go. It has to get better.
chris brockman looks like if dr. evil decided to change his name to slightly agitating
I honestly think this will be looked back on as one of the best hires in the NBA and I hate Lakers nation.
This hire was inspired by Dan Hurley saying NO
inspired by DESPIRATION from an inept, spineless GM.
Awful hire.
This is going to be a catastrophe of epic proportions.
I’ve literally heard no one in LA happy about this. Stop that lying rich.
Or... more likely than EITHER is something in between. Wait, you mean two extreme outcomes aren't the only possible ones?
If this doesn't work out then Pelinka should be the one to go
for doing what Lebron wants😂
Is reddick gonna become the next Steve Kerr.
I doubt it Rich. At least Steve played under actual greats like Phil Jackson and Greg Popovich.
Reddick and Lebron deserve each other. Not only is Reddick almost as egotistical as Lebron but they share the same need to self-promote. Lebron hails himself as the GOAT and Reddick has proclaimed himself a basketball sicko or some other braindead way to avoid using the english language properly
"When you're good at something you tell people. When you're great at something people tell you."
JJ is having practice and going with Lebron to the new Las Vegas franchise
Roll?
coach lebron doing his thing
Thanks Lakers for letting Ham go and come back to the Bucks. Reddick could be Nash on steroids or you never know. Millen on Lions was Xs and Os talked and his involvement in front office was atrocious....thinking could be similar here. However, he could be next Kerr or John Lynch. Sorry for crossing over to other sports comparisons and different positions but Millen came to mind right away.
Thats really a 1 year deal.
This is dumb hire...hiring a guy with no coaching experience to coach the Lakers...really. With so many egos in the second largest market. In LA the Lakers are the #1 team in the city. This isn't going to go well.
Imagine the awkwardness of the first pod after Bronny gets ZERO minutes...and every pod after.
Why does Sam Cassell deserve a shot?
What has he done that makes anyone feel he would be a good head coach other than he has worked under other head coaches?
What the hell are you smoking?
I know you’re doing it for the theatrics, which to me makes it worse not better, but to sum up everything that JJ is as a podcaster is plain wrong. Vets towards the end of their careers are pretty much assistant coaches, he had a long successful nba career, being a podcaster is just the latest of his escapades. Not saying it’s gonna go well or anything but it might
