I lived by lake Michigan in Wisconsin and Carthage college is on the lake, well one 4th of July the college kids lit off a ton of fireworks an left all the garbage behind. Beer bottles, fireworks, etc. The beach was trashed and it was floating in the water and nobody was doing anything about it! So I went an got huge 55 gallon garbage bags and a tool to pick stuff up and cleaned the entire beach. By myself with people just sitting in their cars watching me. I filled 3 1/2 bags. It was unreal. So, thank you for doing your part in helping clean the crap up!
@@somerandomdude4522, isn't it though? Especially on the beaches. It's one thing out on a range, but to leave garbage on the beach an just let it float out to sea is disgusting. So many fish an wildlife die from that and it can be so easily prevented by just picking it up.
what you've done reminds me what Chris from "half-assed Chris" has done by picking up a ton of trash around his house. if we all have done that just imagine how nicer our environment will look.
Good cause. I guess. I'm all for helping people. People who also want to help themselves. When you look at the small percentage of communities and countries that causes all of this in the oceans... they're not helpless, but they're being enabled to continue their behavior by projects like this.
Totally agree. It’s definitely an issue that needs to be taken care of at the root of the problem. But this is still going to help out a lot and hopefully clean stuff up a little bit
@@somerandomdude4522 I think Rober and all involved have good intentions, but when we're talking $30M dollars, I feel it would be better spent to actually get some sort of trash collection routine going in the places that are the biggest polluters. It is good to get some of it out of the oceans that is currently there, but to me it feels like sweeping up a barber shop floor if you get that idea. Anyhow man, take care and thanks for doing your part. It's certainly more than I'm doing lol. I know I probably sound like a complete asshole. Just feel that with the reach Rober and Co. have this could have actually made a real impact rather than being a temporary bandaid.

It’s crazy that people think it’s ok to just leave everything behind.
