I’d love to see a class on dying wool. People always put it in the pan and then poof, it’s ready to be braided. I would love to see how it’s heated, rinsed, etc without felting it!
Love the new space. It's so nice when things work out in a practical, economical, and functional way. I'm interested in learning more about dyeing roving! Idea for studio name: Downhill Dye Studio; word to inspire dyeing: calliope.
The new dyeing area is wonderful! John is so kind to give you some of his space. I’d like to see wool dyeing tutorials but maybe some yarn dyeing, too. A few fall words; rustling, crunching, bountiful. Winter words; glistening, peaceful, enchanted.
Congratulations on the new dye space! What a lot of work, but so worth it. Love the windows 😊. As always it's so much fun watching the dye process. Thanks for sharing.
Dedicated space is always such a pleasure to have!! I would like to see more roving/top dyeing -- while it is basically the same as yarn, it seems to be so much more fragile to deal with. I want to give it a try myself, but I need to see others doing it first to gain some confidence. Thanks for all the hard work you put into these vids -- so informative and lovely to watch!
I was hoping that you were going to have your dye studio at your home place when you had mentioned before that you were moving it. Yay! So happy for you both to have a space to share and enjoy together. It will be so convenient. Now I see more beautiful items have been created.
I quite enjoy watching you dye the wool. Looks like alot of fun. I like seeing how the colours have turned out afterwards. So cool and quite interesting 🙂 🌈
I love your new space!! I think you should call it the Love Shack, I know that might raise a few eyebrows but you guys are so lovely together and you're fibre love diary so it definitely fits ❤
So cool to have a place right outside your home so you don't have to drive to do your dyeing. It is very nice, love the window. Your dyed braids and yarns are so pretty!
I love watching you dye. The color magic always amazes me. BTW, the targee spin’s beautifully. It practically spins itself and is so squishy. I can’t wait to knit with it now!
What a great space! Thanks for sharing your man cave John. You two show how easy compromising can be, both parties are happy. Harmonious is the inspiration word that comes to mind.
I too want red fingerless gloves! I am so impressed with the dye studio y’all created together. I would like to submit the inspirational word: pleasant, both of you are pleasant and thoughtful people.
John is so nice to give up his man cave. My husband has a man cave ,one of the spare bedrooms. I have the other as a she cave for all of my crafting supplies.
I love the new space and all that natural light will make life much easier. My word: I would love to see you redo "farm truck" and not because of the colors used last time, but because of how you both interpreted it so different.
Beautiful light in your new space! Having work-that-you-love so close makes so much difference. I’m currently helping with a new baby, so my word of inspiration is Sleep. Thank you for letting us into your new studio.
Everything thing about this video was uplifting and encouraging. Also, I can see what a blessing you are to each other - so that's my word suggestion: BLESSINGS(s)!
congratulations! I am so happy for you! The studio looks marvelous and can hardly wait to see how you make it your own. :) Because it is a space where both of you get to see each other and where he can randomly come into dye whenever he feels like it, you should call it your Happy space.!
Awesome space! My back porch is my dye space (😂) open to the elements and winter will have to be for knitting/crochet! I will enjoy watching you this winter for my dyeing craves! 😅
Love your new space! That window is so nice! Now you need to plant a native garden outside it that will attract the pollinators and birds. So much fun to watch! I have cone flowers that the bees love all summer then as the seed heads “ripen” the small birds start landing on them to pull the seeds out. If you do a class, I would go with either but probably prefer yarn at this point. I have been playing with dying yarn and am at the point that I think about dying my own often before buying (still buy of course because everyone does it different!). Your technique is different and I would love to learn more about it.
I've planned on adding a plant area around the shed you can see in the window for a year. I can't plant right up close to the barn because of our sprinklers unfortunately.
I like the Yarn Barn or the Fiber Shed ❤ as the name for your space. I would love to see any of the dyeing demos!! Thanks for sharing your practice. Oh - inspiration word is wildfire ❤❤❤
Love your new space Trish! The light is so inspiring and the fact that it's close to the house is so convenient. John is a gem and a man who loves his wife and would do anything to make her happy! Seems like it’s a win-win. I'd love to hear a discussion on colors as you are dyeing…your favorite primaries and secondary colors, different brands if you have them, etc
You are a lucky girl to have John. Giving up some of his space for you is amazing. It must be great having your studio so close to home. Congratulations on the new studio. I think you should just call it “The Barn”.
This space is so you! Name for space My Oasis. A word for dying…. We share this….and it’s the best of memories… “A Dog’s Love”. Another word might be “ Black Squirrel in an Autumn Tree”. Or. “ Mums Gone Wild”
I think you should call the new dyeing space The Sunroom! The speedrack is the best! As for classes, do whatever you want, Trish! As for inspiration words, how about “forest trail” or “restoration”.
Someday I hope I can tell fiber apart by feel. That’s amazing! I definitely notice differences, but I can’t hold something and confidently say anything besides, “yep, that’s wool!” 😂
Hi Trish, so happy for you that you now have a bright area to work in to dye all your great fibres. Can i give you a word for your colour inspiration selection-FLABERGASTED- comes to mind as I watch your channel today. 🥰
Your new space is amazing!! John is a really lovely human being and he loves you so much that I'm sure he doesn't see this as a sacrifice, giving to you is a joy for him, so stop feeling guilty! While not completely accurate, you could call it The Yarn Barn. Are we submitting inspiration words now? if so, Hope, Dawn, Foggy Morning. Love you guys!!
@@FiberLoveDiary you guys are really just so perfectly suited for one another. Thanks for letting us glimpse your love and joy for each other from time to time, it's so hopeful and inspiring ❤️❤️
I love the *idea* of dyeing my own fibre but can't seem to commit to doing it. I'll happily satisfy the itch by watching your videos! Glad to see in the reflection of one of the pans that you were masked up! I can't remember - are there dyes that don't require masking? That TORI braid is spectacular!! The dyeing space should be called 'The Back 40'! My inspiration word is Tranquility!
I totally understand the guilt, but I’m betting that you don’t need to. 😘 It’s beautiful, and how awesome that it’s so close to home. You’re going to get SO much done! I know it’s more than one word, but I’m resubmitting my suggestion to use Stephen King books for inspiration!
I’d love to see a class on dying wool. People always put it in the pan and then poof, it’s ready to be braided. I would love to see how it’s heated, rinsed, etc without felting it!
Love the new space! Also I’m always so uplifted by both how you talk about John and how he loves you, I’m so glad you two found each other!
I'm so glad too! That's a story all by itself!
@@FiberLoveDiary can this story go in the next Q&A?!
Awwwwwww I love John too! He’s sharing the barn of love. ♥️
Absolutely love the way you videoed by dyeing and then showing the dyed wool and names -- great editing!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the new space. It's so nice when things work out in a practical, economical, and functional way. I'm interested in learning more about dyeing roving! Idea for studio name: Downhill Dye Studio; word to inspire dyeing: calliope.
Us too! Although slightly more economical would have been welcome 🤣
My word is 🪸 coral.
I would love to watch your class for dyeing.
Hope you have lots of fun, creativity, and inspiration in your new studio. 😊
Thank you! And I wrote down your inspiration word!
The new dyeing area is wonderful! John is so kind to give you some of his space. I’d like to see wool dyeing tutorials but maybe some yarn dyeing, too. A few fall words; rustling, crunching, bountiful. Winter words; glistening, peaceful, enchanted.
