I have met Greg in person. He has so much soul in his curious eyes. He luved to be carried likea baby around the ranch when he was little. And he is fond of pomegrants and Hawaiian bread. U carded his wool so pretty.
Hi ! Happy New Year!!! I do enjoy your videos ❤!!! I’m so looking forward to 2025 with you! I hope you do more Rigid Heddle Weaving. I have the warping bar from your shop and it has been really helpful! Keep doing what you do!
How fun to watch you process Gregory’s first fleece from beginning to yarn! I had no idea of all the steps involved and you made it look so easy! Thanks for sharing!
I am so excited to see this video! I have acquired a small herd of Navaho-Churro sheep. There is not much information out there on processing their wool. I have been learning by trial and error for several years. So is is wonderful to see one of my favorite fiber people process a fleece all the way through. Thank you bunches ❤
Gregory has the most beautiful fleece and you did an excellent job processing it. Hope we get to see more on how the yarn is eventually used. I've never spun a thing but really enjoy watching you do it. 👍👍👍
Gregory’s fleece was absolutely beautiful!! I love the darker color of fleece more than the white. This was the first time I watched your podcast. I loved it. I did subscribe.
It was very interesting and fun to see the process of doing this even tho I never intend to wash another fleece again! I did one in 1975 or so when I lived on a sheep ranch. I saw how to do it in one of the Foxfire Books - which is where I learned to spin as well. Needless to say, without someone in person or at lease on RUclips and with no running water except a creek lol, it was not a pleasant experience. And since the sheep there were raised on the range, that fleece was FILTHY! 😁 But here I am back to spinning after all these years. I have used you and your channel to learn how to do so much and you always make it fun.
This is an awesome video to end the year with, educational and inspirational. Earlier this year, I bought some raw fleece I still need to process. Not nearly as much as you processed here, so I just need to get to it 😂
from Gerry- That was quite a long process. I love a dark fleece. You've given such good advice in this video. She will be thrilled with what you send her. Be blessed.
Love your full project vids, thanks for sharing 😊 Your hair looked so pretty when you were spinning the corespun yarn x P.S. How long did it take you to pick and card?
I've always wondered exactly what shave em to save em was such an awesome video!! Also, those sweet babies love to see them living their best lives together ❤️
Such a beautiful and fun spin! I was gifted an Icelandic lamb's fleece which looks very similar to Gregory's fleece, though it's a different color, and this has given some great ideas for what to do with it. Thanks for sharing! Love watching the happy pups keeping you company.🐕
So much goodness in this one! Learned about the breed, Greg being a mascot is so cool! Exciting to see all the different techniques for spinning from the same fleece. I could go on and on! Amazing job and thank you for sharing your adventures as always, ❤❤❤
My New Years resolution is REALLY learning how to spin. It's a shame to have this wheel for 3 yrs already!🤨 I am finally finished with my wips and I'm starting a sweater using the 4 Sloth skins I got from FLD. I'm knitting the Poet pullover from Sari Nordlund. A little ambitious for me but I think I am up for this challenge. Why do they make these charts so small???
That is ambitious! I like to copy and enlarge charts, or, if I'm feeling extra, I'll draw them out in their parts on graph paper. It has the added benefit of getting familiar with the chart before knitting.
@@SusieQ3 I did print it out, and the widest part covers the whole 11" page landscape! The chart has a graph of 1/16" squares. I'm hoping as I go along the repeats will be easy to follow without constantly reading the chart row by row. I just love the sweater and was looking for something special to pair with this wonderful yarn.
@@LDSVenus I tried that with Walmart and the person couldn't figure out how to do it. I'm rural, and the closest Stapes is an hour away. It will be slow going with this pattern, but the outcome is so far stunning.
Love the video about Gregory and his fleece. Wondering why you chose to card rather than comb since I was told that double-coat fleece should be combed for the best result. Anyway, great job.
(I couldnt wait for the end of the video so you may already tell us...) I would love to win the passport, but I would happily get my own. Please give us all the deets!
I love how you processed and spun Gregory! That was an awesome fleece!

Well you are lucky! I love lambs.

I didn't realize there was a shortage of info on processing them. It was so much fun

Watching you process Gregory gave me a boost to keep working on the processing of my Icelandic fleece.
Happy New Year! What a nice way to start it by watching you pick, card and spin up GREGORY. It's fun to learn about the different breeds.

You can take the chart to a copy shop and they will enlarge it for you to whatever size you need :). It’s pretty cheap to do.

If you open the charts up with a phone or laptop, you should be able to zoom in.
