I love Bosnia and all it’s differences, I am Serbian and I miss the country I was born, I still feel that most of the normal people lost a lot. But my Yugoslavia, Jugoslavija is still beautiful, notwithstanding our tragic history, and in my case was my youth , I was 21 when all this nightmare started and I wish that will never happen again to us and als o to others.
I absolutely love the non-bias, non-judgmental way you experience everywhere you visit. Thank you so much for sharing it all. The beauty of travel and exploring new places shines.
My friend came from Croatia in the 90s. She was 18 and didn't speak English. She left her family behind and came to a complete unknown to find a safe place to begin a life where she could safely raise children and have freedom. She's an amazing woman, wife and mother. But she missed her home and her family which couldn't leave there. She always said the beauty of her country is incredible.
What a wonderful video, as they all are. Here in St. Louis, we have the largest Bosnian population outside of Bosnia. Many refugees came in the early 90s. They are amazing resilient people, some of the hardest working I've ever known. We have many coworkers & friends who are Bosnian so have heard many stories but because they escaped the war with almost nothing, no photos. It's been wonderful for us to see the beautiful country through your videos!
Was on a cruise in 1995, and our waiter was from Bosnia. He spoke of the war, his wife had just had a baby and he could only see her sporadically. Cruise ship was the only job he could get to support them. We gave him a baby present for their newborn and he was very emotional. Such a beautiful country to have endured a tragic war.
I teach English in France and I taught many UN peacekeepers and French soldiers who worked there as peacekeepers in Bosnia. Such a tragic, sad time for these brave, kind people. Pray for world Peace 🕊
I appreciate the respectfulness. I was a military spouse for 20 years and that helped me realize not every one believes what I was taught East Tn. Everyone needs to be respectful it is loss on many in our country. Thank you for sharing your journies!
I've been watching you guys for quite a while and the one thing that really gets me is that don't take it in a bad way but I think you're kind of childlike meaning that you're so open-minded and you always just have a smile on your face and you look at the world with AWww I love the way that you're so open to the cultures with no judgment why can't everybody live that way this world would be such a better place if everyone was like you guys I admire that in you and I thank you❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have been with you guys since beginning and I just wanted to say I am so Happy for you both for making this choice to travel and see the world. I love that you take us on this journey and show us things and I love it when Snow shares the history about places. My heart is so happy for you guys to just have this opportunity in life. I always wanted to travel like that. Unfortunately my health doesnt allow it but I get to see through your eyes. Thank you so much!! Much love from Iowa. 🦋❤️🦋❤️🦋❤️
My Croatian family fought in the war, it was brutal and the atrocities that were committed are unspeakable. Many people have suffered. That part of the world is rarely remembered. Thank you for mentioning it and continue enjoying your travels stay safe.😊
I remember the news reports about their terrible war. The destruction of property was unbelievable, but worse was the level of injuries and fatalities. You covered it with sensitivity and respect. And you showed us the beauty that has risen from the ashes. This is a video worth watching.
It does not matter what religion, what color, what gender, at the core we are all the same. We all want the same things. We wake, get up, eat, take care of our children and our homes, go to work, and dream of good things. You may hear me or others say this but until you travel beyond your backyard it is difficult to feel it. There is nothing like finding a friend from a completely different culture and exchanging thoughts. To me this is not politics. It's what life is all about. We have so much more in common than our differences and I thank you guys for not focusing on the differences as they have very little importance and make no difference. Thank you again for taking us along on your fantastic and magical journey. (PS. Editing to say you never bore me Snow. Not ever.)
Thanx Snow for the history of places you see and visit, love it, because I can not go there for myself but with you guys it's always awesome 🎉🎉🎉🤗🤗💕💕🇿🇦🇿🇦drive safe xxx blessings
Beautiful tour the waters were so blue. The monastery built near the cave was impressive. The food and snacks are always a bonus. I just finished my blueberry muffin and coffee while watching. Be safe and thanks for a great tour.
Thank you, Snow, for telling us Abt this lovely , and peaceful place. For the life of me, I can never understand why it is they fight each other, in the most beautiful and peaceful places in the world. It's heartbreaking. Religion and politics don't matter. These beautiful countries are the most peaceful ever. I am born and raised in, Venice, CA. A place that was once peaceful. I now live in L.A. The hardest to deal with city ever. I travel for a few mins every Sat with you and the kitties, and wish I wasn't here. Thank you for sharing these beautiful places with us. I wish we could tell them, or show them, how very lucky they are. ♥️☮️🙏🌈🐈⬛🐈⬛
❤ love that you understand the importance of being open minded and accepting of all the cultures you are going into! Amazing examples of graciousness ❤
I was in Mostar in 1987 or 1988 before the war. There were no shops selling things. There weren't many people walking around. The bridge was *SO* slippery!! I had smooth soled sandals on and had to cling to the sides and still my feet slid back. I was on the bridge before it was blown up and wondered if it would still be slippery after the rebuild - the reconstruction is faithful to the past :)
I have always appreciated how respectful you two are of other cultures. You always give us such an authentic view of the countries that our visit. Another thoroughly enjoyable episode!❤️
Thank you Snow for sharing the history and culture of every place you stop at. I learn something new every week I watch you and I get to see parts of the world I never had the opportunity to explore. And I'm with you Curt I love looking at the architecture and the beauty of old ancient buildings and sit in awe at the knowledge and craftsmanship it took to build such stunning bridges and buildings even whole towns. I never could imagine such beauty in the towns and countryside you visit over there. Bosnia is a truely beautiful country with history, thank you for sharing and respecting their cultures. Safe travels my friends 💕🙏💕
That river; so incredibly beautiful and fascinating and thanks for your explanations of the war, Snow. Only been to Croatia (when it still was Yugoslavia) but I think Bosnia now is on my bucket list- so much history and beauty ❤🙏🏼
Happy you saw swallows. We have been saving some babies. They are protected in Europe. It was a terrible war 😥 We had some ppl from Jugoslavia where I lived in Sweden. When the war started they were not Jugoslavian any more...couldt talk to each other cause they came from different part. Sad what wat does to us. Great video.. Take care 🤗😘

Snow and Curt On the subject of stone roofs: Shout out. @Martin Djooland has restored an ancient stone house with a stone roof. He is located in northern Italy in the Piedmont. His Vlogs are wonderful. As yours are
Awesome trip Snow and Curt. I was in Mostar and on that infamous bridge along with my sister. Bosnia is beautiful. We also went to medjugore which isn’t too far away
I have really enjoyed this city with you all. Snow, I’m Especially fond of “your take” on the war and history. I remember this being the big news story in the 90’s but seeing the city and hearing you explain the history lets me feel much more connected. Thank you for letting me travel with you all!

Good people can be found everywhere, but I'm proud, as a fellow American, to have you two serving as ambassadors for kindness. Peace from Maine. Thanks for all you do.
I've been to 65 countries and it's hard to find people to talk to about some of the most memorable places I've been. I've never heard anyone talk about Mostar, but I remember walking through the streets and taking pictures every 5 minutes. It felt like I time traveled and was in a modern day war that just ended. The color of the water and architecture mixed in with the raw emotions in the political graffiti, and the people, make it a special place that most people have never heard of.
Thank you so much for the history of the Mostar bridge. I have a beautiful, painted picture of the original bridge and an updated picture in the same frame. My parents visited Yugoslavia about '97, before the war. My father walked on the bridge, a special memory for me. My mother ran trips for the retired educators in our county (USA). They enjoyed the countries so much and always said how warm and wonderful the people were. It's so nice to see that they have recovered and rebuilt so beautifully. One thing ❤ the young boys used to jump from the bridge, do they do that anymore? Thank you again!
I love this video! It is full of history which I love as well as the beauty of the town. I am sad when the videos end, but I know you have to stop to prepare them for us. You guys are awesome and thank you for taking the time to research the history of the places you go to. I love history so this hits the spot!
War is hell. I applaud you for being able to carefully skirt the line of not discussing politics or religion in relation to the wartime in this region back in the 90s. I remember it well. Especially with the Olympics underway, remembering how beautiful Sarajevo was in the 80s before the war, then seeing the photos of it afterwards... devastating. Thanks for sharing how well this area of the Balkan region has rebuilt itself. It's gorgeous.
Snow I love listening to you tell the stories of the towns you go thru it so interesting. Places I will never visit in my life you just took me thru all the gorgeous countries. Thank you so much for giving the history of all the places you visit. God Bless and be safe.
I can’t believe it! That’s the very campsite in Mostar that we used in 2021, and thanks Snow and Curt for the wonderful commentary. Our son had a boy from Bosnia called Moran Barric at Engelfield Primary School U.K. during the conflict.
Traveling means experiencing different cultures and religions. My favorite class was survey of art history at Portland State. To understand art you see history, religion, politics and architecture. Churches are significant part of their lives. ❤ What a beautiful area!
Thank you for this wonderful video. I've had the good fortune to have traveled in a lot of European countries for work. But you, in your travels, have filled in where I missed. Thanks again for sharing your travels with us. 🤗
What a beautiful story you have shared. The history we lived through so far away being in Canada and could only pray for the people and peace to come and the rebuilding of those countries.
Snow, you did a beautiful job explaining the Bosnian war of the early1990s. It explained a lot in a clear, general way. And I've driven through that area (the former Yugoslavia) several times in the 1970s. So great to see the area now.
Whenever Curt says "How bizarre, how bizarre..." I have to listen to that song- a blast from a long ago past! Glad you found your slippers! Great video! Thanks guys.
What a beautiful place! Thank you for sharing it with us. I remember the war and the horrible human toll. You covered it with great sensitivity. And the region helps us to remember that war (hopefully) ends and peace and beauty can return.
I am fully onboard with not discussing religion or politics and I know how difficult it is to skirt the edges but I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate the religious history you present. I am heading to that part of the world in the fall and I am truly enjoying and appreciating all of your coverage. It really doesn’t make any difference what religious beliefs you have or don’t have I have found the history and beauty of the churches and monasteries throughout Europe is second to none.
Fabulous - we stayed at Autocamp Blajaj last year. Enjoyed seeing that again. My wife swam in that river. Took a hot hike up to the castle and visited the Dervish house. Good memories!
Thank you for your respect for all cultures! ❤, my dad left Bosnia for Argentina before the second war started, I need to get to Bosnia sooner than later...loved your video!
I love this episode!! I am actually leaving for Dubrovnik, Croatia on Wednesday next week, the 19th. We plan on going for a day trip to Mostar, and Kotor in Montenegro. This video was a perfect introduction ❤ Safe travels Snow and Curt!
I'm glad that you don't mention/discuss reiigion or politics, and that you respect everyone's choices and different cultures. I wish everyone in the world would do the same.
We did that more in Latin America... hopefully this fall we will be able to have some fun campfires! I think it will depend on the countries we are in!
Snow, Thank you for sharing the history and pictures, Inwill be adding this into our homeschool studies. Absolutely stunning! Congrats Xurt on finally finding your slippers.
Such a sad history. Thank you for an education of your travel subjects.
Beautful video 🥰 Thank you 🤩
The place you had your juice break was magical! The color of the beautiful water!
I was so mystified by the shops that had the flickering lamps. They were beautiful. Going to search the internet to find a small one. Thank you again!
They are Morrocan and very everyday items here in S Spain, I thin the camera made they flicker though
@@jenh9252 Jen, yes! I ordered one from Amazon. Thanks!
Love the history and the video. Thanks for sharing.😊😊
💙💙💙💙
Do you ever have campfires and able to cook outside? I am so amazed at all of the beautiful places we get to see thanks to you💙
We did that more in Latin America... hopefully this fall we will be able to have some fun campfires! I think it will depend on the countries we are in!
Wow!!! What an amazing place and history! Thank you for sharing!
Snow, Thank you for sharing the history and pictures, Inwill be adding this into our homeschool studies. Absolutely stunning! Congrats Xurt on finally finding your slippers. I am super picky about mine too! 😊

The family Says Hello
That’s a wonderful idea…to use these amazing videos as part of your history/geography lessons. What a perfect way to show children how beautiful the world is and how we are all much more alike than ever different! We are never too old or too young for these amazing lessons.🤗🩷🙏
As always, you take us to learn about and appreciate lesser known places. Thank you for being thoughtful and sharing. ✌️❤️🚐
So amazed at the beauty of these countries and the fortitude of the people to come back from the devastation of wars! I always appreciate how respectful you are in every country you visit and how well you represent their culture to the world. It looks like the kitties are enjoying Europe as well, I love to go on their walks too! Safe travels, 🥂to your health!💕🇨🇦
Very interesting history. Thank you.
