I'm going to go exercise instead of complaining about being fat. No one should be "plus sized" (unless you're super tall), the clothes cost more and its just a testament to the fact that you can't wear normal clothes you have to wear "plus sized". No, I refuse to let my body get like that, its damn hard losing weight with pcos but I will NEVER EVER LET myself become plus sized. Adipose tissue is disgusting.

Lol @Buster. Even if I was at the "healtiest" size I could be. Which is around 180-190. I would still be in "plus sized" clothing. I hope you realize that straight sizes end at size 12. And size 12 in some cases is even considered +. I'd have to starve myself to even get near a 12.

i mean there's a difference between a cosplay and a costume though :P costumes are honestly meant to be cheaper and just worn for things like halloween. cosplay is meant to be more expensive and detailed and can be reused for several comicons and such

Coming from someone whos a ren faire worker, im dissapointed that the pirate costume is so underdone but so over priced. No corset skirt ive ever seen even better quality then the one she has on is that expensive. Same with the belts and they so completely failed on the shoes part. They couldve had such a better looking costume for the same price.

For how well-made that dress looks, $300 isn't unreasonable. It's a lot to wear it one time, yes, but if you can get multiple wears out of it (and you have the cash to spend), go for it!

The stylist did an incredible job dressing Nina for her body type. She looks insanely good. She picked an excellent dress for Jazz, too. She clearly took their shapes into mind, which is awesome.

I don't think it's that nice a dress for $300. I paid like 350 for my wedding dress and it was nicer than that. Maybe not as bling laden but nice.

Jessica Howard exactly! I did a similar pirate costume two years ago with thrifted items and only spent $45. I really didn’t care for the “jacket” it looks like a cardigan sweater from a older lady fashion store

Edited to add: The $5 for thrift shopping is only that cheap bcs I live in Puebla, Mexico and bcs I have been looking and buying from extra cheap stores. Anyone from my city that wouldn't know where to buy would be spending idk $150 for the same second hand stuff.
Exactly, when I saw them I was like "whaaaaaaat?" I could get that with $5. The expensive version would be to buy it already made from an actual costume maker. Goth, punk and steampunk shop owners who make their own designs make truly intrincate stuff, it'd be expensive but way more realistic. Their expensive version was mostly what people can buy at regular (non specialized, just halloween trick or treat stuff, not the kind that would win a contest) costume stores.

Just because it's from the 20s doesn't mean it's supposed to be ultra conservative. Flappers, by definition, threw off what was considered acceptable behavior for young women at the time. They wore short skirts, sleeveless dresses, danced to reproachable music, and kept their hair short in defiance of oppressive feminine roles and expectations. Flappers are sexy, in look and in personality. If someone feels too covered in a flapper dress, than it's a poorly designed flapper dress.

Please actually look into the fashion of the day. The dresses were short to them which means that they are not short to today's standards. They typically hit at mid calf length and only dancers and prostitutes wore dresses that hit at or above the knee. Which given previous fashions was considered liberating. So, given the way that clothes are made and styled today if you are dressing accurately as a flapper you might feel more covered up. Also, it is so annoying that the cheap costumes have fringe on them. No one really wore fringe!!

Gabby DeYoe just because flappers existed in the 20s doesn’t mean everyone was a flapper. For one thing, flappers dresses usually still covered the knee a bit. For another, flappers were basically considered prostitutes. Flappers were by far the minority of women, though aspects of their style did get into the general public (like shorter hair and less shaping in dresses)
I love Jasmine’s flapper outfit. The expensive one is to die for. But, I also love the full flowy skirt on Chloe’s witch outfit.

Yeah. These outfits are really lame for the amount of money they're saying they are worth. Like come on. That pirate jacket looks like a cheap blouse sewn to some rags. It's over $1000, give it some detail, add some leather! Same with the witch, it's so bland. When you see movie quality costume, it's all in the detail. These have almost no detail.

I'm proud I already knew this 😊 also the flapper costumes were inaccurate, if you look at real flapper outfit you would see that they are much longer and way less form fitting, and don't have fringe.

One thing that elevates a costume like nothing else is authenticity. Sewstine could use traditional 18th century hand sewing methods to replicate a historically accurate pirate costume for $1500, but here they just added some tacky belts and expensive skull rings and called it good. For the price, it is a terrible pirate costume. For a $30 pirate costume that you compiled from thrift store elements? Great, it gets the job done.

they added the accessories and the actual clothing pieces as one, they just showed them as separate prices. ninas outfit and accessories were each 1k+ prices, making her whole outfit 2k+

@@skeetulrich6988 Hers was more authentic I think. The partial corset and many pieces look like you can find on ebay or Amazon in clothes or goth or Victorian. I go to a lot of Rennaisance Fairs and have many costumes pieced together over time. The witch hat is not authentic but just somthing that was made up at some point.

@@dejahall3500Her weight is 330lbs (it's in the fitness makeover video she did with Michelle. *That puts her bmi at 46!!* Insanely unhealthy! Anything over 30 is obese, over 35 is moderate risk and *a bmi over over 40 means you're level 3 HIGH RISK.* Her healthy weight range for her age and height is 133lbs - 179lbs - so she's basically double what she should be. We need to stop normalising and celebrating obesity - it's literally killing people and it will kill Jazz eventually if she doesn't change her habits. It might be easy now while she's young, but she is going to suffer, badly. If she lost weight it could seriously inspire some subscribers to get healthy and avoid future health complications.

Martine there must be something not converted correctly. While in the US (I’m Canadian by the way) coats/jackets from H&M can be 50-70, most items are 20-30$ USD

The expensive costumes were just regular clothes... but when they were buying the cheap costumes they were saying they didn’t want the costumes to look like they were trying to make regular outfits into costumes. If you looked at the prices of the pieces that made the expensive outfits “costumes”, they were all under $20. This video was basically just “look at how many expensive items we can put on at once”. I was expecting intricate cosplay costumes, or costumes from a professional costumer.
