Hi Jovita! Thanks for making this video. It's so important for Indian RUclipsrs to make these videos and you are one of the few who actually makes them! Did you know there are other Indian RUclipsrs who are promoting glutathione for skin whitening?!! If someone wants lighter skin as a personal preference, they are free to do that. But to put such ideas out there on the internet in a country known for discriminating against skin colour is just obnoxious.
The company making the glutathione products contacted me to do a paid review and I turned them down. So did fair n lovely. It’s important to stand for values and promote change when needed.. some people need to know making money and becoming fair is not what life is about 🤷🏽♀️
@@MrJovitageorge Thanks again! For standing with us.
#whereismyshade
For real! And there are these stupid methods to *get fairer naturally* that get millions of views. They are often on the trending page. I still cannot comprehend how we allow such things. Literally every beauty product in India now has either _skin whitening claim_ or _glowing skin claim._ "glowing" is now a word that's synonymous with whitening. These companies make millions off of our insecurities thrusted upon us by the society that itself is insecure.
They need a dark chocolate to eat but not the same in skin tone!🙄 Its really annoying.. Every dusky girl of youtube needs to bash these kinda brands and educate the girls who are told being dark is lika sin.. I just want the brands just shut up😑😑😑
Ironically.. Colorbar's Instagram bio reads "Every color under the sun for every shade of you". 😂😂 Audacity man !!
ONG NOWAY 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahah😀🤣
SJSKSKKS
Colorbar is definitely a brand by a Punjabi 😑😅🤣
No ..it's not true..colorbar perfectly match dark skin..u think she is de promoting.t ge brand..I don't know why..but she is
...trust me....
It's actually because of the Indian aunties who think foundation is for making you fair..... I went to a wedding last month and was shocked to see the bride.... Her face looked like sister snow white and neck was of my shade 😂and that girl has studied in USA... These people are called literate fools
Oh no, I feel bad for the bride 😔
It looks awful and their hands are another shade altogether as well.
Hahaha
I remember when one of my friends who's a very beautiful tan color (like the average Indian) got married in India, her MUA made her apply some sort of white wash all over her face, neck, back and arms even, inspite of my friend trying to tell her she did not want that and she had her own shade of foundation! My friend was so upset and in the car on the way to the venue she wiped off most of that gunk and did her own makeup ,but it left a bad memory of what was supposed to be one of the happiest days of her life. :(
noor farha exactly log smjhtay hain foundation gora honay k liye lagatay hain 😂😂😂😂😂
Ok I am a white woman from Canada who is usually around NW20 and that looks like it might possibly match me. And that is the darkest shade in a brand from India? Crazy and sad.
Noor Noor yeah that’s kinda sad, people should be taught to love their skin tone.
Noor Noor yes embrace that lovely caramel skin!
This is one of the longest lasting and most degrading negative effects of the 200 years of colonial exploitation. We were judged brutally on the basis of our skin colours. For Indians it was more difficult because we were ethnically neither white nor black. This mentality will change for sure and it has improved, but it needs a really long time to completely go away.
@@trisha7516 Wrong. British colonisation isn't root cause. Whole world loves fair skin or fairer shade among the population. In India it is caste system where upper castes tend to look fairer. In any society, upper class decides the beauty standards.
But corporate propaganda and Bollywood brainwash has still kept the same idea about beauty standards.
@@codenamevisage correct!
I don't understand.. consumers WANT foundation shades that match our darker skin tones.. isn't it more profitable for brands to cater to more people??? I'm baffled!! Disappointed, Colorbar! Thank you, next!
EXACTLY 👏
Exactly! It just makes good business sense to cater to all skin tones and increase their profitablility! Just can't understand what these brands are thinking!
Not every one wants a foundation that matched their skin if the think they are dark. Most people think foundation is to make you fair. They see it as a product to lighten their face. So, probably that's why companies don't see a lot of women buying dark foundations. In malls, I have seen fairer bottles more oit of stock than the darker ones. Probably just me, but sadly people lack confidence themselves.
THANKYOU,NEXT
Her sarcasm is on point.. Like the way she read all that was amazing ❤️
Anubha Bhardwaj absolutely
Lol 😂😂😂
Jovi, you could start a series with such videos that roasts the brands that aren’t inclusive. These honest reviews should reach the brands. More love to you ❤️
Guys I don’t know why the video is flickering in between. In my final edit, there was no flickering 😔 RUclips messed with my video quality during upload. Is it flickering on your screen or is it just on mine?
No there is no flickering at all
Kinda creepy 😚, but you look adorable ♥️
No no flickering for me
Yes it is flickering🤔 at 0:20
I could see the flickering chechi...🙄😑by the way u rock chechi....the beginning u nailed it..🤣
I seriously wish people start waking up and shaming indian brands like lakme and colorbar and even boycotting them like people do in America as jovita said even when they launch 30 shades instead of 40 . The problem is indians are actually obsessed with fairness although majority of indians are brown. These brands just make money out of people as they know they just want to look fair and lovely smh 🙄
We can bring something into the dumbheads only by boycotting dear
These people with delusions who think that "fair is better" can't and wont be stopped easily
@@deepika4913 i agree with you i myself have completely stopped buying any kind of product from lakme or colorbar. I'm doing my bit everyone should do theirs do the only these brands will wake up.
@@parulll_ The problem is the general population want and demand lighter shades, and that's why the companies only produce lighter shades because that is the product that will sell the most.
The root of the problem is not really the makeup companies, it's the perception of Indian people about dark skin.
The same problem occurs in my country, Philippines. Women here are OBSSESSED with lighter skin LOL. Glutathione capsules and injections are sold here like aspirin, it's so common.
75% of Indians are brown
And I believe in karma
Actually 100% of Indians are considered as a brown skin race...😆
Not all indian are brown😒😒😒. Someone like me cant find my shade and so never can buy foundation
Rihanna needs to bring y'all some Fenty.
Native brands would die overnight if they actually had some decent competition.
Indian Society won't let them die.. but there will be some of us, who would abandon at the first chance we get.
But it’s so expensive mannnnn
@@aditi1729 that's what !!!!
What are the affordable good foundations which are available in India which actually has a range of shades
And I'm talking about sugar cosmetics affordable
I work in makeup industry and trust me it won't solve the problem. Estee Lauder double wear foundation has already got more than 44 shades that's more than fenty. And Estee Lauder is available widely offline and online for quite a long time! Did this solve the problem? No!
It's a psychological issue and needs to be addressed by mass boycott! But people first need to know about makeup and start embracing each other and themselves and the diversity!
And it shouldn't take much time in this era
@@ArijitBiswasMakeup Estee lauder has more shades than Fenty?? in your dreams lol... Fenty has 65 + shades.. They launched with 65.. too faced born this way foundation now has 60 shades.... Estee lauder is no where near.... even Nyx came out recently with almost 50 shades.
This is why I want to grow up quick and open an indian brand that has the best shade range. Affordable and nice. Im tired of watching fair people pick things easily while i struggle with an insecurity and bankruptcy because of my skin tone.
Send me a PR package when you do so.....jk
Yess please ✊
Try PAC Cosmetic
Bhavna sammmee girl. I wanna make this color shaming stop!
Me too girl...let's get in touch when u are ready.❤️
“The sun recognized the gorapan of my face” 😂😂😂
Rouge Brohi 🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂
When the claims say "fixes imperfections" and it only has pale shades...its saying dark skin is an imperfection 😷
Right? 👀
That's how some brands have started advertising lightening products in India to tone down the blatant colorism- brightening, enhancing complexion, etc.
Honestly this makes me sick...how can ppl still be so obsessed with fair skin tone n not embrace every shade nature has created..
The time when she says 'do you mean..."gora"....'😂
Love the sarcasm
"Gora"... You nailed it dear....
That's the biggest reason I never miss your uploads... Sarcasm on point.... God that is one that word that we don't miss to hear when it comes to complexion in india... These brands are putting more in support of those narrow minds who reallly think that complexion of a person matters in their personality.... Shaping the youth minds, olds... I don't know what these brands are thinking of when they come out with only fair shade range....
There isn't any flickering for me. Also you're amazing and absolutely right, these brands need to open their eyes.
*I’m so tempted to try their lipsticks but I’m not the one to support hypocrites. Their company name is colorbar for crying out loud. I request everyone to boycott this brand, this is the only way you can teach them a lesson. Jovi, you’re doing amazing with these videos, sending you lots of love!*
I really wanted to buy colorbar foundation and you just gave me the correct insight. Well pointed and the roast, sarcasm..all on point. Hope the brand hears it and does the needful. Thanks a lot for this video.
Maybelline India has launched only 16 shades in India in Fit Me collection. Hardly fits anyone with the medium-dark skintone. And no one with dark to deep- dark skintone. 💁🏽
I'm on the fair side and the lightest shade available 115 in India is also dark. Its not the problem with only dark skin. So sad 😔
True,.. I mostly find the shades on the fairer side
I am from Poland where most of people are rather fair. Meanwhile, we have very little shades and only one shade is fair. The rest is for medium and dark skin tones. Like what the fuck beauty brands. What is you doing
Yes I agree
Atleast they have some coloir on the dark side... I am not saying it justifies the entire race of indian skin tone... But... These indian brands like... Blue heavens.. Iba... Dazzler..... Lakme.. Colorbar.... They are just launching 5 shades of chalk... That's it.... I am 19 .... A woman of colour my entire makeup life till... By this i mean... From last 5 6 years of my makeup.. I had to stick with lakme foumdation which completely forms a mask above your skin.. Why bcz we do not have shades to carry on... Last year i was introduced to maybelline fit me... An i got so excited that... I purchased a shade darker than me.. But i'm not mad bcz i can mix with the foundations i already have.... Not completely satisfied since... It does not do good for many shades darker than me.. But atleast not like this colorbar who sells chalk paste in a high end luxurious bottle
U said it sister... Love this video.. Especially " madam ji that's what I meant"... Loved it.. Fair is so worshiped in India especially in kerala.. Am so loving ur videos coz u have made me confident about my skin colour and am no more bothered that am dark skinned.. Thank u so much.. Making a change dear.. A huge change.. ❤️
And ironically Kerala is the state with highest literacy rate. It shows that education doesn't guarantee common sense
The worst part is when u ask the sales person to pick up a foundation they will give u two shades lighter than ur skin complexion...😂😂😂
@Falak Khurmi OMG hilarious 😂..it happens coz we live in India..
Exactly why I hate shopping for foundations with these sales ladies.. they have no knowledge of what the customer wants and just suggest things to boost sales :-[
@@shakthisekar187 not just india. South asian girls as at UK beauty counters do the same thing. Its gotten better in the past 3 or so years tho
Exactly , I dont understand why they gotta do that , like wth is.wrong with them ? 🙄😑
Not just in India. I'm a mid toned Indian living in Europe, and white ladies here(at MAC, lancôme etc) asked if I wanted my skintone or lighter when I asked for foundation
I would like companies to explain why they exclude warmer/deeper skin tones ! Great video! Love the sass!
My soul felt this video so hard! 😢
I m nc25-30 depending on the amount of tanning i do but even I couldn't get a shade match. All the shades were either pale or pink tone. I had to buy number 2 because number 3 made me look grey 😮 I was so taken aback by the colors, it's just very odd and sad
THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS UP recently saw the maybelline foundation advertisement for India and I was so mad! Not one brown skinned woman! What a shame..
it's so ironic how everyone else just appreciates our beautiful different brown shades but Indian companies are like , 'y'all hear something'? Its just so disappointing. its 2019, what are they doing?
I just watched your video and posted it on my Facebook & Instagram account. I'm a dark brown girl living overseas and it speaks volumes when the only shade found in drugstores or chemists is either labelled "dark" or "deep" and they're as light as the foundation you reviewed!! The selection in the last few years has gotten better, but the struggle is still real (unfortunately). 2019 and still fighting colourism!! We all want the opportunity to look and feel our best and have the money to do it (and happy to spend) if given some choices. We matter too! Thank you again for starting the dialogue and doing it was intelligence, wit and humour! Brava darling!!
Yesss love 👏👏
Omg! I love you. You are the best. Thanks for the videos. I love them and i feel i can trust what you suggest. Please a make video for the make up bushes for begginers
I'm a African American and we have to go through the same thing. It's getting better with our drug store brands, but it is still a struggle. I can find my shade for the most part; I'm like medium dark for a African American, but for those darker than me, it's hard. Yes makeup companies need to get better for women all over the world. Liked you video and energy. God Bless.
Jovi please make a video on best highlighter. And please Include every form such as mist or powder.
THUMBS UP!!! YOU ARE SO RIGHT. I find it crazy that I cannot find my shade of makeup in a country of people just like me. The companies need to understand that every customer is cashed up, not just those four shades of eggshell.
Hi Jovita! Loving the makeup tips ! Definitely lots of life saving hacks ! Could you kindly do a video on using mineral based powder foundations on behalf of those with sensitive/oily/acne prone skin ?
Jovi! The girls in Chennai are asking me foundations that will make them fair? Im now starting to get confused , if the companies do because of the girls expectations or these girls expect because of the companies.
They ask because they're told that they need to be lighter. Give them confidence love. Tell them they don't need to hide their beautiful rich color. And suggest some lovely dark color foundations like L.A girl and PAC
this is the first video os yours i've ever seen and i'm loving it, i'm white and i dont even wear makeup but makeup is for everyone and dark skinned people need more visibility and inclusion and i'll fight for it with you ♥️
Hi jovita ....thanks for this video...its very useful and could u suggest a best vitamin c serum for skin brightening ..and make a video on that..😊plss
thanks for making this video. it was a well needed discussion that you have started.
Your venting out like this makes me really happy even though I am a light skin toned person. It's really sad to think that our wishes would be restricted by not their incapabilities but bcoz of their insensitivity.
Love your work❤️
Thank you for standing together with us!
Hey dear u actually have the voice of 80% of India.
And a request plz do a review of L A Girl pro colour foundation mixing pigments
I love the way you talk.. I just see the videos just to listen the way you talk. Loving it
Amazing video..I am a big supporter of yours. Just one point, you applied a lot of foundation. I am dark too, I use fit me and just use half drop of it
God bless the day when an Indian brand will make 20-30 inclusive shades. I think brands don’t do it deliberately because they want to glorify white skin. 😣
Not really. They cater to the majority. And majority wants to look like a white wall.
SNZ - Absolutely... I agree with you. The biggest problem is our Indian mentality. We think that having fair skin means you are superior no matter how talented or how good your nature is. We should really stop paying heed to such products.
Sugar cosmetics did launch 21 shades with their ace of face foundation. And it is an amazing product too.
Pac is d only brand in india which has a good shade range in d foundations nd concealers nd thy r planing to lanch evn more......
AnHeC lol how are u even comparing Poland to India? u do realise that Indians vary from very fair to very dark, unlike Polish people who are usually just white skinned
You completely voiced my thoughts on hopeless Indian brands that promote sick mentality of “only fair means beautiful” I have been a victim of this though I am NC 42. Can very well guess what Indian girls of darker complexion go through in our society.. I have stopped buying indian makeup as a vengeance.. only PAC cosmetics stand out in the crowd as they are doing an amazing job in the Indian makeup scenario.. Your sarcasm is on point and as usual hilarious..I was actually laughing when you were singing and the way you demonstrated the foundation application..More power to you girl!! You rock!!
This is the first video I've watched on your channel and it's awesome !!! Subscribed !!
This is video is great.!
I'm a big fan writing comment for the first time....i love how you make your point in such a humorous way.....i love your work each and every video....I don't know why people here in India are obsessed with fair complexion.....even the brands are stupid to make people believe that their product is magic and turn the complexion permanently.!!
You are on point girl...Love all of your videos❤️
Thank you so much for this, beauty gurus n people in USA bash companies when they cm out with few shades, n look at ppl here where nothing happens wen a company comes with 4-5 shades. What an embarrassment
Hello Jovi
How are you darling 😘
I wann try huda beauty foundation
I have dusky skin tone so which shade is good for me ? Or you can suggest me another foundation ..
I'm so happy and proud of you. the work that you do is just amazing. Your such a great influence and inspiring role model. Keep at it. 😊👏🏽👏🏽😘
they launched more shades and i got mine today! 🥺❤️
they heard you after two years lol, but it’s a good change. better late than never.
It's scorching heat here in Mumbai...loved the video.... I wish it rains here too... love...Mr Jovi
The heat is just about to begin in Kuwait. Scary thought!
Hello Jovita. It’s great to see ur videos. And this is so important to speak bout this point specially in India. Wat u r doin is awesome work. I love ur work.
I love this video and the message you sent across.
Loved to hear u take VBS classes 😇😇.. I vl be taking it this summer... Stay blessed girl 😘
Didnt u knw?? The corpse look is always "in"!! 🤭👻
Hey Jovita, I really like your videos and honesty. I have even noticed that even though a brand like Maybelline has 16 shades, the counters for Maybelline in the malls do not display all shades. They will be displaying only the lighter ones.. so we just have to guess our shade.. we cannot go and check that because it is not available. I don't know if this is a problem every where or no.. but at my place in 2-3 malls the counters did not have all the shades displayed..:(
Thanks sistah for sharing this sort of vedios and thank you for reviewing all range of product. Your vedios are really helpful cause you let us know the actual truth of different brands.
Your sarcasm is on the point.i totally loved it.I totally hate pagalpan of gorapan.
Hi love u..make a video on makeup collection
Big thumbs up 👍 for the initiative you taken to change the Indian mentality about brown girls.......... I can totally relate with you and agree what you said....... I am NC40-42 when I got tanned and I heard so many things about my complexion and so called expert advice..... Now I live in UK and here people says that I have very beautiful skin sometimes it surprised me as in India I never heard these kind of statements ......Even people love brown skin and they called it Glow and use so many tanning products and goes to tanning salon to get that tan tone......... I really love your smile and which is so beautiful 😍
This video is so high on sarcasm, knowledge and entertainment..!! One of the best videos so far..I hope it's the ULTIMATE FLAW FIXER FOR such thought processes and these beauty industries
950 bucks for this white paint colour which i can find at any school supllies store for max 100 rs ? PASS 🤣

Hahahaha your comment is hilarious Parul Vats
Glad these companies are being called out for their foolishness. Good job! This is the age where Fenty Beauty has revolutionised the beauty industry by bringing out so many shades...and here we have companies like Lakme, Colorbar, Fair N Lovely etc trying to take us back decades. Who hires their R&D team I wonder? Do they even have one? Doesn't seem so. You should check out the models from the Lakme Fashion Week - all made up to look fairer than they actually are. It's disgusting is what it is.
Please make a video in daylight...I would love to see how your makeup looks in natural light....for some reason the studio lights make you look way lighter ....I have also observed that the lipsticks look a different shade in your videos which I believe is due to the light....btw great video! Nailed it
Hey Jovita, can you please make a video on what eye brushes to purchase, and what each brush is used for?😀
My skin colour is darker than yours but I actually have a foundation from colourbar that matches my skin... It doesn't look like the one in this video. It's in tube packaging. What is going on???
The company makes darker foundation only in the tube version. The jar version has only light shades. www.colorbarcosmetics.com/face.html
Where did u get your top? It's actually very pretty 😁❤❤
Hey Jovita! Will you be doing a full sugar ace of face foundation review?
Already have one
I just wanna say , I love you and I love the way you are constantly working towards this issue. Huge respect.
Hi Jovita, I wrote to them when the collection came out on mails and Instagram and they had the worst reaction!
This jst reminded me of my makeup done by Parlour Aunty... I wanted a simple makeup for my di's engagement..But she is did a fair bridal makeup on me...that too two times..one was done by her maid who had no experience and when I complained , then only she did some touch up..which made my face look so horrible..My face was super dooper jaundice white while my body was brown... It costed me...Rs2000. It made me look so horrible that finally I came home , cried coz people around me telling achi dikh rai ho..when I wasn't looking gud at all🤣🤣 This made me cry more and more...I cried for 5 mins in bathroom and washed it off..Then I put my simple makeup and went out happily ...I looked good and confident in my skin tone..😏
Can you please do a mineral sunscreen recommendation video best to wear under make up :(
Please share the link of the top which you are wearing in this video 😍 Love all your videos which respects all skin tones 😘❤️
We love a sarcastic, sassy queen that exposes colorist makeup brands 👏🏾👸🏾🙌🏾👑
Seriously... There are colors... Othan stark WHITE... C'mon we are not going to put.. Whitewashing paint on our face.. Thank you for being so upfront and putting it out there... The way it is... Your honesty is on another level... ❤️👍💯

The sass is dripping off this video and I am LOVING it! Loved, loved, loved this video so much.
Well if that's the darkest shade in India, me and my papersheet white skin need to move there. Then I might finally be able to find a shade light enough at the drugstore lol
This is honestly so important. I can't even begin to imagine how insulting it must be to darker skin girls to go through this so much. Sometimes my mom tells me " if you were darker you'd understand and then you'd do everything to be fairer" I'm like NO MOM I WOULDN'T because dark is also beautiful light is also beautiful. It's literally the colour of your skin. Doesn't change a damn thing. I've seen this kind of behaviour among black women as well where some promote "skin whitening" and it must be so damaging to young impressionable girls. #whereismyshade is a mood.
Just loved the way you put it. 🤗
