That was gross but Nascar and its fans overhyped and still over rate Zane Smith to a goofy moronic extent that pisses me off but do yall and FRM bought it. You would literally think Zane won the cup chip the way he was treated in 2023 it was so weird.

If any FRM car makes it into the playoffs my bet is on Noah getting in. That -35 pt penalty really hammered his opportunity to really fight for a spot. • @ravagingwolverine666
    @ravagingwolverine666 4 дня назад +6

As far as I can tell with Chandler Smith, the news that he wouldn't be back with Gibbs seemed to come out quite late in the season, after the bulk of silly season. I think most of the moves and deals had been finalized by the time he realized he needed a spot. I agree that Chandler is good. He had a great run in trucks. He has done well in Xfinity. He's good enough that I think it would have been a shame for him to be without a ride in 2025, so I'm glad to see that he has a ride and one that is likely to be good.
As far as Zane Smith, he had a rough year. Being a Cup rookie is not easy. But did he ever turn his season around after the summer break. Zane started to find some competitive speed and was running near the front in many races. I think he has earned an opportunity to stay in Cup, just based on performance. The fact he was able to turn it around as well as he did, and to figure that out after only about half the season shows there's some real potential there, and I'd like to see him continue to develop at the highest level.

Hey Eric, I've got a suggestion for NASCAR and their ever changing Playoff schedule.. and point system.
GET RID OF IT AND THE PLAYOFFS...
GO back to a more NORMAL way of keeping track of the best to worst in a series.. or season..
    Discontinue owners and manufacturers points.
Give 1 point for the final position of each driver/car.. Give an extra 5 points for Winning a race.. Give 4 for second, 3 for third, 2 for fourth and 1 for everyone else. Give 3 extra points for most laps led and 1 for leading at least 5 consecutive laps, but only once per driver, per race. Get rid of the penalty timer to get your car fixed after an accident. If a team can and wants to fix their car, let them as long as they can maintain minimum speed when returning to the race. But, if you DNF you lose 1 point..
Start a Crew or Team point system..
Give 1 point for the fastest Pitstop, of each Caution, green flag stops don't count.
Teams that keep the same crew members all year, get an extra point.
Sick or injured team or crew members are not a disqualifier. Make it where team or crew members are acknowledged for their work and dedication. NASCAR should pay the winning team or crew $1 million or more to split amongst a set number of members.
Have members win points for Pit crew challenges before each race.
Finally.. Have each contract with each televising company state that, they have to cover everything, I mean everything, from Pit crew challenges, the driver and team introductions, the National Anthem and Prayer..
They should cover everything, without interruption, even Rain and Red Flag delays.
We want the entire show. If NASCAR were to do this, they would get the FANS Undying Support.. I know I would..
    Have a good day, Eric

I think I said this in late 2022 but I predicted that the optimal business strategy for NASCAR teams is have stables of three or two cars.
Four seems to be progressively unstable with usually one car out of the bunch being the weakest link either consistently or on a week-by-week basis (#48 was frequently weak for Hendrick, #19 seemed to constantly be struggling although sometimes it was a different car depending on the week) OR the entire team falters as a result (see Stewart-Haas Racing). One-car teams won't suffer from all that weight, but they'll struggle to keep with the larger teams that'll rake in more purse-money per car.
These two/three car teams like Trackhouse, Spire, FRM, RFK, 23XI and to a lesser extent LMC have been the most interesting to watch because they live in this happy medium between the two that allows for flexibility between garnering more purse money to stay afloat and not being over-encumbered by having to maintain four our whole stables.

The major things about C smith is that he is really hard to work with, so most people won’t want to work with him. He weaseled his way out of his kaulig contract, had a reputation for being a dick at JGR, and even KFB didn’t seem to have an amicable split
And as for their cup program, both Zane and Noah are great drivers, I’m expecting both to be contending for a top 20 in points next year, maybe even a playoff spot. As for Todd, I’m not sold on him. The guy was one of 4 full time drivers to not get a top 5 (the others being hemric, Haley, and JHN). In fact, he didn’t get a single top 15 after the Olympic break, only got 4 top 20s. And that was all while he was the sole guy FRM was backing (McDowell got mostly cut off), now he’s gonna have 2 more guys sharing resources. If he gets a top 25 in points he’s met expectations

    • @DerrickRG

Top 5 things to make NASCAR better this season:
Revamp OT to something with less parity
Revamp the playoffs to something with less parity
Make thinner tires and remove the diffuser (too aero dependent)
Make it less commercialized. I've been to Talladega, Martinsville, Darlington, and Bristol all in recent years, and it's all been the same feel, same event. Make each event feel unique.
And, most importantly, LET THE TEAMS MAKE THE PARTS FOR THEMSELVES, sure, strict regulations, but if the teams all run the same exact car, they run the same speed. If you run the same speed, you can't pass... especially on short tracks

@Zoniax-zc7xh you are entitled to that opinion but the fact is he made that 51 look competitive on MANY occasions.

Like I said, it was an RFK prepped car. And he couldn’t even get it to a top 25 in points before he left. It being fast shoulda been expected, but it wasn’t

@@Zoniax-zc7xh see i think a lot of people dont realize a "RFK prepped car" doesn't mean it's effectively a 3rd rfk car. It's still RWR equipment just put together by RFK.

    • @Zoniax-zc7xh
      @Zoniax-zc7xh 4 дня назад

Thanks to the next gen car, everything is now the same equipment, from Penske to RWR. The only difference is how to set it up, which RFK would have been doing

I'm not sure what we saw from teams like Spire and Front Row Motorsports in the second half of the season last year wasn't, in fact, more a result of the stunning second half of the season decline of Joe Gibbs Racing and much of Hendrick Motorsports than it was how well they ran. Consider that JGR didn't win a single race in the second half of last season and that, except for Kyle Larson, Hendrick Motorsports didn't fare much better, as the only race either the 9, 24, or 48 cars won in the second half of last season was in Chicago. I actually think Front Row's headed for a spiraling season in 2025 and I think Spire is also going see a dropoff in performance, though I think Michael McDowell wins one race for that team, either at a road course or at Daytona or Talladega. RFK Racing didn't run as well last year as they did they year before, either. I think all three of those organizations revert to form in 2025, though I think RFK Racing runs up front with only it's two main cars, the 6 and 17.
If there's one team that disappointed last season that might bounce back in 2025, I think it may be Trackhouse, and I'm not entirely certain about that, either. As for Richard Childress Racing, the question is what team will we see in 2025? Will it be the one that ran terribly for the first 20-23 races of the season, or the one that ran close to the front in the latter races of the season, winning once with Austin Dillon and challenging for wins with Kyle Busch. One team I that think is in for a disastrous season in 2025 is the Wood Brothers, because I don't think that highly of Josh Berry. In fact, the #21 car might fare even worse this year than it did last year. Another point of interest is how far Penske's flagship car, the #2, lags from the 12 and 22, because I think Austin Cindric may be on thin ice there, despite the obvious family connections to Penske's team.

Chandler Smith is not liked for some reason I heard but if he keeps winning he get to cup. got a lot of talent. Yea it's money but others have made it without money. He got demoted in Xfinity basically because if he stayed in Jgr for 2025 he would probably be favorite for championship right? Now he must make it to the championship 4 in trucks this coming yr if not it will be a disappointing year

I’m still not sold that Front Row has their ducks in a row. Lost or passed on too much top talent. Only started signing drivers to multi year contracts after loosing their strongest driver to date because they would not sign a multi year contract. And then they sign for a third charter and bet the farm that they will win in court. Court is looking good for them now but I’m not convinced that’s not despite their actions.

You don't think that the 4 team wasn't picked a part by other teams. The 4 team was clearly the best team at shr for forever. They lost good people the later the season got and their performance showed that.
