As many who wrote before me I am wondering if Sebakwe was doing the elephant version of "Cut it out Bubi". At one point I couldn't see Khanyisa anymore and was getting worried. Beautiful video as always. Thank you
I have been wondering about Bubi lately. She seemed to be distant from the herd in many of the videos since she attacked ( maybe not best word) Timisa. I wondered about how she's been and it is quite sad for me too see her not mingling with the girls and she really seemed to love you Adine. ! Poor Bubi really must have been devastated from early development to have these moods. Do we know anything about her upbringing. ! I hope she one day can overcome her worries and distrust. I found her really taken by Khanyisa. And with Lundi at the beginning ; now she stays away. Like I said prayers for big Bubi. She has a lot to offer the herd!!😞🙏💞💖💖
I honestly feel like Bubi gets mad that she wasn’t “chosen” to be khanisa’s nanny. I remember she use to try to coax her from Lundi in the beginning. Even Tokwe did too. The 3 dominant older females ALL WANTED TO BE THE MAIN NANNY. I’m telling you Bubi is mad that Khanisa is not her baby. She is starting to resent the other females as well and this is not good. I feel like she takes her frustrations out on Adine because she thinks Adine takes her baby away at night to the nursery.
I have been feeling this same way since Khanyisa first joined the herd!! She seemed to really want Khanyisa to herself, which to me was why she pushed Timisa away, too. Bubi is certainly very affectionate with the baby, and always puts her front leg out when she is near. Although Lundi is always there when Khanyisa needs her to be. They appear to be well suited for each other---both having independent natures.
I know everyone has a theory here re Bubi, but I wanted to share that since her mother was taken by a poacher, and she was a wild elephant, she may mistrust humans at important times. Perhaps the group had rifles that day and she smelled them, or perhaps she smelled lions - humans can be smelly and noisy snacks that attract predators. She may have been saying it's time to get the people out of here, Adine. Maybe one day, when Khanyisa does't need as much milk, Bubi will start chasing people off. I don't think that would be ornery or hormonal or whatever people are opining: I think that would show intelligence and survival skills by a young female who may one day lead the herd.
I think Bubi needs a hug, she's upset about something. It's hard to come out of a bad mood when someone, Ellie or human, seem upset with you...just saying 🥴🥰

Hehe. Naughty Bubi has learned a new way to “play” with her humans. Little pink K deep in the water having a great time. Amazing they are such great natural swimmers.
I think elephants love to swim for many reasons. It cools them off and it probably feels good in the deep water where they're buoyant, taking stress of their joints. They're big, heavy animals that walk many miles everyday. Getting all that weight off of tired feet, back, and joints must feel good! Swimming is one activity in which they can relax and just have fun! I love sightings like this!
Awe, I feel so sad that Bubi was so upset. Something was definitely wrong. She was not liking anything. I hope she feels better soon. Little K is getting so brave, she looks so adorable swimming, The way they took care of her was so touching. Love from the USA.
I don't believe for a second that Bubi would intentionally hurt Adine. Adine happened to be the one standing there. No one knows these ellies better than Adine and the team. Bubi was having a bad moment and Sebakwe stepped in to calm the situation, that's what he does. He probably knows Bubi better than anyone and why she was in a mood. Bubi is a great ellie and has my utmost respect.. And...that's all I have to say about that. Love to all the beautiful herd and a great team.
I love all of this. She definitely was “baring” her teeth/tusks, flapping ears, slapping trunk. Simbakwe definitely put himself between you and her, backed up and stayed until she turned. She was giving you side eye.

Pink baby Sunshine coming out of the dam. 💓💕💞 🐘 she’s so sweet. I get a bit anxious every time she goes swimming. That little body floating adrift and the pink trunk up in the air. Omg, I keep saying to myself “it’s going to be fine, they know what they’re doing” ... I like to think that Sebakwe is the father of the Herd’s new generation: Limpopo, Klasserie, Pisa, Mambo and Zindoga. Is it possible that they’re all Sebakwe’s offsprings? Bubi needs cuddles to be in a better mood. Maybe? 😂🐘❤️ A little love won’t hurt ... But seriously, you’ll never know what made her so upset. It’s clear she had a rough start in her life. Ellies are very sensitive.
She was really in a bad mood, but I think we can all have those days, yet I do believe sebakwe was blocking her from doing anything she would regret! It’s hard to see Khanyisa in the deep end!
That is quite peculiar with Bubi. Why should she suddenly be angry with Adine whom she has known for over 20 years? Was she jealous of the other cows taking off with Khanyisa?...
Quick question: Hope does Khanyisa know how to swim in the deep end? Just curious as she’s still a baby. Would Lundi help her if she needed it? Love watching your videos of these precious majestic giants! 🐘❤️🐘❤️🐘
All the elephants seem to take responsibility for looking after the young ones. I am sure any of the elephants would help Khanyisa & let her grab on if there was an issue in the water but she can use her trunk as a snorkel even when the rest of her goes under.
Thank you Adine for the apportunity to see everyday the Jabulani Heard's life. Especially thanks for your comments which allows us to understand better behavior and feelings of those amazing, smart and beautiful creatures. Thanks a lot!

Ohhhh Bubi! Now seeing this video for the first time I see how disturbed she was over the baby being in the deep end of the water. She couldn’t enjoy herself until Khanyisa was safely on terra firma.
Very interesting seeing Bubi like that. I too have noticed that she seems to be a loner sometimes, except when it comes to being around Khanyisa! Wish I knew what Bubi is thinking of all the time. I love that Kumbura and Limpopo are so protective of Khanyisa too and that Khanyisa trusts them so very much. It is such a joy watching this little pink baby every day.
I love the way Khanyisa rests her trunk on Limpopo or Kumbura, she is confident, she trusts her sisters ! Wonderful to see ! And I think Sebakwe came to protect you from Bubi !!

So true!
All these elephants mean so much to all of us who have been captivated and have been watching!
I held my breath too when baby K goes in, just like when I watched my own when they were little near water!
Wow, Bubi was not having a good day. 🙁 I love how Sunshine is so brave in going into deep waters but of course she’s well protected. Her hanging on to Kumbura and Limpopo was too cute! I just love her! Best part of my day is watching your videos. Appreciate what you guys do on a daily basis. Thank you. ☺️
I love elephants so much ❤️❤️❤️
(Debra) Oh Bubi, you were just worried about little Khanyisa and mad they took her to the deep end huh...she's okay now. We all love your kindness and being a mum to little Khanyisa.
Made me a little nervous seeing Bubi staring at Adine and Princess K in the deep water. Seems all turned out well. 🇺🇸
Bubi: Grrr!
Sebakwe: Hey, be cool (walks past)
Bubi: No :( I don’t want to be cool, I’m upset!
Sebakwe: (stops, steps back, stands) I said, be cool.
Bubi: ...hmph! Fine..
❤ thanks for sharing
just released my stress
i love your videos i couldn’t imagine working with these beautiful giants everyday it would be a dream of mine ❤️ i love watching the herd thank you for posting ☺️☺️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
Bubi says I’m watching you😊
i wish i knew what Bubi was thinking here, i love you my HERD these folks are angels who try to make you all happy♥♥♥thank you for everything, im so proud of khanyisa what a great little swimmer she was as a baby
I can't stress enough how much I love those cute elephant bums.
Oh Bubi. We all have days like that. Love you anyway grumpy girl. 💜💜💜
Herd love ❤️ I got a little scared in the end when i didn't se Khanyisa ❤️ 🐘 🙏
I love them all but baby elephants get me every time. ❤
The buoyancy of being in water must be such a relief to such heavy animals.
I do love how they all stick together especially around Khanyisa, making sure she is safe!
Am I the only one who feels the overwhelming desire to put lotion on the elephant skin?
She was really in a bad mood, but I think we can all have those days, yet I do believe sebakwe was blocking her from doing anything she would regret! It’s hard to see Khanyisa in the deep end!
That is quite peculiar with Bubi. Why should she suddenly be angry with Adine whom she has known for over 20 years? Was she jealous of the other cows taking off with Khanyisa?...
Could Bubi have been trying to tell Adine she was worried that Khanyisa was in trouble? (thinking like an over protective mother myself)
Nobody knows why Bubi is in bad mood, me neither. Think about this, maybe her trauma stems from an incident for Bubi when she was near water?
Oh Bubi you tinker! Love that Sebakwe stepped in to protect Adine & warn Bubi off!!!!! Great vid❤️🇬🇧🏴
It appeared as if Sebakwe was protecting Adine. When Bubi is out of sorts she really is out of sorts.
Mambo was so expressive!
Wow!!! Best part of my day! Love how you compassionately share their stories and don’t expect them to be anything except what they are! ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful place.....beautiful animals!
This just made my day!
Sebakwe deliberately came over walked between Bubi and Adine backed up and positioned himself between the two until Bubi backed off.
❤️
Bubi is a perfect example of an elephant. 🐘🐘🐘
Thank you Adine for the apportunity to see everyday the Jabulani Heard's life. Especially thanks for your comments which allows us to understand better behavior and feelings of those amazing, smart and beautiful creatures. Thanks a lot!
Wow, Sebakwe getting between Bubi and Adine was incredible. ❤️🥰🐘
Bubi just wanted to be left alone? We all have our moods, huh? 🤪
lol she's like can't you take a hint? 😂 your a brave soul Ms. Adine. I do appreciate how much you are loved by your human herd they are constantly keeping you safe, as well as the other elephant
The buffalo seem very co-operative about moving along when the elephants want to use the pool.
I love that little pink elephant!! ❤❤
Magnificent creatures ❤
I would not be happy either if one of my mates pissed and took a dump in my drinking/bathwater.
😂😂
He narrowly missed the water. 😁
No need to get crude!!!
I love all of them 😘🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘....♥🍀🙏😍
Khanyisa is practicing her swimming lessons extremely well! Thanks to the loving guidances of all her allomothers!❤️💛💚🖤💙🧡💜❤️💛💚🖤💙🧡
Absolutely!!
Ohhhh Bubi! Now seeing this video for the first time I see how disturbed she was over the baby being in the deep end of the water. She couldn’t enjoy herself until Khanyisa was safely on terra firma.
Well, humans do have their moods too. ;)
It seems as if Sebakwe is positioning himself between and being protective of his humsn family.
Bubi: I am Not happy,... leave me alone 😒 😤
🐘💗🐘
I love the way Khanyisa rests her trunk on Limpopo or Kumbura, she is confident, she trusts her sisters ! Wonderful to see ! And I think Sebakwe came to protect you from Bubi !!
Aww que hermoso ❤️🐘❤️
😍🙏
Hi❣️
Every time the elephants leave the water they think: Oh shit, this darned gravity.
Thank you for once again repeating this video. It’s one of my favorites. Khanyisa is so small and enjoyable to watch. She’s nicely growing now, and very happy, which makes all of us happy. I’m hoping to go farther south to meet all of these wonderful elephants. For now, a trip to Kenya’s Giraffe Manor for several days. ❤
I must admit, I was breathing for Khanyisa too 🫣❤️🐘❤️
Sebakwe looked to be protecting U today adine
I got a little worried with Bubi’s displays. I hope she is going to mellow out. I have come to care for all the Ellie herd.
