  • When Jimmy Nelson traveled to Siberia to photograph the Chukchi people, elders told him: "You cannot photograph us. You have to wait, you have to wait until you get to know us, you have to wait until you understand us." In this gorgeously photo-filled talk, join Nelson's quest to understand - the world, other people, himself - by making astonishing portraits of the world's vanishing tribes and cultures.

15:35. When he said "you may not be reflected in his eyes" I thought he was gong to finish with, "but when you look at this image, know that THEY are reflected in YOURS."

Life itself is an art and a frame from our eyes. Just we have to see that beauty all around us. People's faces are the picture of their entire life . And thanks @jimmynelson for this great Ted Talk that encouraged me to see the world from the different frame. Respect the photography all of them hide a treasure inside em.

    Wonderful energy !
When we determine to tread lightly and show thoughtfulness from one intelligent breathing individual to another I believe we find beauty in The art of Being-s. The physical and visual articulation of ones art of living is so often simplified contrary to our own. Well, we some times loos ourselves in naivety, but we are .... in each others eyes. If we care to free ourselves from our selves in others we see our own reflections or do I see other in mine ? Yes you are a beautiful gentleman and you are making this world a better place ! Had a childhood friend a Navajo Indian with your same name So glad I stopped by !!

theChosen1 www.teneues.com/shop-us/before-they-pass-away-collectors-edition6.html just $1500 limited to 500 copies, that means he wants to earn more than half a million for travelling around the world, having a great experience many people are dreaming of and shooting pictures, what a douche... how much of this money goes to the tribes he photographed? probably zero???

These tribes are like a portal back in time. I guess we can all trace our ancestry back sometime when people lived lives like this (although traditions and language would be different). We find beauty in the fact that our world has somehow preserved these isolated cases. Very important pictures I think

Brilliant discussion on his travels around the world. I think his work with people around the world has made him all the more appreciative of who he is and the lessons he has learnt in life.
As for those people going on about Monica Lewisky troll somewhere else or get over yourselves. That man gave a good presentation on his photography and he admitted too that he makes mistakes and he doesn't really know much and that its the people he visits that become his teacher. Leave Monica a lone and write something more constructive about this current presentation.
