About 3 years ago I changed jobs so it's easier for me to study the Bible while I'm at work because I can listen to all these Christian programs on RUclips at two times speed.
And as I'm listening to a wide variety of people talking and debating, people from Orthodox to Catholics to Protestants to the Torah observant and others, I will say the Sunday Protestant churchgoers are probably the most confusing and contradictory people.
I think the Orthodox and Catholics are wrong and both cultish.
And so many " protestant" churches have what seems to be contradictory teachings, or are teaching something that is not simple and lining up with the bible.
Even very basic things seem like people try to make them so confusing.
Most people who claim to be Christian teach that Jesus lied when he said "3 days and 3 nights" and they try to claim he was crucified on Friday.
Seems like 99% of churches and "Christians" reject plain wording of the scripture, so much so, it has at times made me question reality and if the bible is even real.
I feel like I constantly have to guard against "Christians" trying to disprove the bible, moreso than worrying about athiests trying to disprove it.

@@chrislucastheprotestantview thanks for your honest comment.
Obviously we hold beliefs that are far apart on many issues. I assume you are SDA? Would you even consider yourself Protestant?
You are absolutely right in saying that doctrinal confusion may lead to loss of faith.
However, we must also recognize that the source of confusion is the modern idea of “private interpretation” which stems directly from the unbiblical doctrine of sola scriptura.
I know you put a lot of emphasis on the Sabbath, but do you think the day when Jesus was crucified is really a point to spilt the church on?

@thejerichoconnection3473 no, the SDA church actually hates the Sabbath. They promote a false prophet on sabbath, so they acknowledge the commandment, and then intentionally break it. To me, that's very demonic.
Polycarp, Polycrates and other quartodecimans observed Sabbath and Passover. Roman Bishop Anicetus tried to claim he had apostolic authority to change Passover and Sabbath to Easter Sunday. Polycarp challenged him on this. Anicetus preceded to make empty claims that he got his authority from Paul and Peter, but never provided it.
But everyone acknowledges Polycarp learned directly from John the Apostle, and we see what Polycarp taught is in the bible. But we do not see what Anicetus taught.
And to me, it seems like the Roman church stuck it's nose in other churches business and influenced them. And by 606AD, it tried to claim universal bishophood.

@thejerichoconnection3473 also, SDA church teaches Jesus lied, and was not in the grave 3 days and 3 nights. They teach the typical catholic Friday crucifixion nonsense.

@thejerichoconnection3473 let me show you an example of how so called "Christians" try to attack the bible.
I am talking to a Muslim. They attack the bible by bringing up how Jesus "was not in the grave for 3 days and 3 nights, I know the Jewish calendar, and no one can you get 3 days and 3 nights from Friday, therefore your own bible has the "sinless messiah" LYING!"
Well, now I have to explain how that interpretation is wrong and explain why Jesus was crucified on Wednesday. But now they are fighting my explanation saying "but why do all the churches yeach Friday?"
So it gets frustrating because I now how to overcome a bunch of devils that came in the name of christ teaching a false crucifixion timeline, wasting time. And because I work 70 hours a week, I have to end the conversation. But because these false teachers taught Jesus lied, I have to overcome that in order to continue to engage with this Muslim.
It's frustrating. And I could witness to jews easier if I didn't have to deal first with the lies "Christians" teach.
In Jewish culture, they actually have celebrations which show that Messiah would be crucified on a Wednesday. But they are oblivious to them. But if they knew of the real crucifixion timeline, they would see how this lines up with celebrations and customs they had since the Exodus.
