"I wrote ‘My Tears Ricochet’ alone and it was the first one I wrote for this album." -- Taylor Swift.

Not surprised about your quote, the songs that are really meaningful to her, she writes alone

"You wear the same jewels that I gave you as you bury me” she trusted them with something valuable that makes her vulnerable and they used that against her that line hits hard 😭
'' I can go anywhere I want , just not home'' . One of my favourites by Taylor.
Folklore and Evermore hits different when it's raining when I'm alone and sad
You right

Why isn't anyone talking about *when I am screaming at the sky* or *my stolen lullabies* those two are the most beautiful lines in this song.
They're great, but they aren't my favorite. My favorite line in the song is: "we gather stones, never knowing what they'll mean - some to throw, some to make a diamond ring."
I thought the same about those lines. Her lyrics are beautifully written.
Stolen Lullabies? is she taking a jab at scooter here again? Damnnn smarttt
IK
Scooter is essentially stealing her music. Obvious.
She is simply a genius never in my life o have imagined the phrase, '' look how my tears ricochet " it's like look how my pain rebound to you, reflecting all the pain that you make me through. Now it's you who suffering my pain my tears splash and reach you.
i believe thats exactly what it is, since ricochet means to rebound

My tears ricochet is still her best track 5... nothing can beat this agonizing, painful, melancholic track.
100%! I didn’t think anything would beat all too well but this one did ☝️
Still The Archer for me, but My tears ricochet is still great either way
Dear John. Why all forget about it?

They're so difficult to rank but...
1) All Too Well

5) Tolerate It
6) Cold As You
7) AYHTDWS
8) Delicate

Welcome to the Folklore era
You dont need taylor swift. You only need yourself.
Just because the album cover is in grey scale and her music video in darker hue doesnt make it dark. Thats very shallow of you to think
I was thinking the same.
this song got me through my breakup. I was crying every day, letting chores stack up around me, drinking too much, sleeping too much, keeping the curtains drawn and my heart guarded. I thought.. "when i was younger, taylor swift got me through so much" and stumbled upon this song. Got me out of the depths, pulled me from the water and got me on my feet. Thank you, Taylor.

Just realized a little detail incredible that Taylor might put in this song, when she sings "and so the battle ships will sink beneath the waves" when she hits the word "beneath" the music and the instrumental comes back out loud exactly like the ships would sink into waters, it's like the music comes to cover up the lyric as the waters comes to cover up the ships sinking underneath the waters. If am I right it's very genius.
