You my friend just saved me $300!! My pressure dropped down to 0 psi. I took my pump apart and cleaned chunks of wood out of it. Put it back together and hallelujah!!! It works!!! Thank you!
Oh man, you are a frickin savior bro, my pressure is down to ZERO, the pump is running but not pulling any water, thank you Sir
New Pool Owner here, post freezing weather my pool pressure dropped to 0.4-0.5 psi I thought something broke. I cleaned the skimmer, pool basket, I primed, backwashed nothing worked until I watched this video. Just cleaned the impeller as per this video and bingo. Thank you for this video.
Thank you. Was getting ready to call a pool maintenance company when I saw your video. It took me two minutes; I used some middle nose pliers to pull the debri. Thank you for saving me time and money.
Ordinary tweezers just worked for me! Thank you for the video. Saved me a service call and whatever the charge would’ve been. My pressure had dropped from 12 to 8 with no air leaks detected. Pool and pump is less than a year old. Was just simply some hair and a few other things that passed through both baskets. Will now look into a sock for one of the filter baskets. Thanks again!
You are so good at these videos!
This is a great video!
Very informative, thanks.
Thank you for these. You have helped me a lot over the years. Keep it up!
Good informative video.
Pine needles= Impeller’s enemy.
Like friggin darts that slip through every basket!
good job your a big help
I like using my air hose with a small tip to blow out the impeller. Of coarse only when it's taken apart and the impeller isn't still sitting on the pump. Blows out the little pebbles and sticks like it isn't nothing.
New pool owner here, I've been struggling to understand why my filter pressure was so wildly variable. Pump would run great/quiet then, over time would get noisy and pressure would drop. I would clean the basket at the pump daily and after cleaning it would often clear up for the most part only to get back to the same symptoms the next day. We have a California Christmas tree in our neighbors yard that drops millions of small (1"-2" needles). Your comment about pine needles zipping right through baskets is dead on...this video was exactly what I needed to better understand my system. THANK YOU!!!
Right on! I’d maybe try some skimmer socks & an in line leaf cannister if you have a suction cleaner. That should help keep that pump basket from getting clogged so quick.
@@SwimmingPoolAZ-SPS Thanks! I ordered the skimmer socks; I have a pressure side cleaner so not much to do there. Thanks again for saving me $$$ on a diagnostic visit from my friendly neighborhood pool dude.
Thank you 💜🌞💜🌞💜
Nice video. Always wondered how I can remove my own crown.😉
AWESOME video Josh, for me Josh i ALWAY'S split the pump, for me not splitting the pump is like back-washing a filter thru a Back-wash port or a Piston (push-pull ) valve,if i can't see it,it's not clean(ed) curious how much time you believe you save by going in thru the wet end vs splitting, i could just never do that, plus with my paws i have a hard time getting down in there with tweezer's....what's next, pre holiday tune up?
Thanks Scott, on whisperflo/intelliflo/superflo pumps & Hayward Super 2s, I sweep the impeller with my finger every time I empty the basket. With the tweezers, I can “feel” pretty good weather there’s still debris stuck as it’s soft vs. the hard surface and edged of the impeller. With the tweezers, I’m done in less than a minute. Splitting the pump to further examine if I’m still not getting results after using the tweezers takes me around 10-15 minutes. Got a video on pump seals, another on Borates, and one on Heaters in the works. Hoping to get another one posted before mid October.
Hi, I just replace a new pump. But now the filter pressure always at 0. Do you what’s the problem? Thanks
My filter had a bad pressure gauge.
I replaced it but the new one reads, zero.
The pool has good water flow. Surely enough to register some pressure.
I blocked the returns to build up pressure but still it says zero......?
My bottom suction isn’t working Is there an easy fix
We replaced a gauge but we have no pressure on the new one and the water flow into the pool is low
Hi Josh. I have a pentair sta-rite filter. I cleaned it as per one of your earlier videos. Do these filters ever need to be replaced if they are not torn?
If you take care of them you should get a good 5-6 years or more out of them
I have algae problem in my pool that make it green. The size of the pool is 15 m x 7 m x 1.5m how much chlorine do i need ? Do i use 90% chlorine tablet or 60% chlorine powder? Do i turn on the filter or turn it off? Please help. In my country i only have limited pool cleaner products. No fancy brand like in the us
Also i tested the pool water for CL and PH its results are lowest ph and lowest cl in measurement. Before dropping 1kg of chlorine
Watch our videos about chlorine and algaecide. What country do you live in?
I think I have the best "pool-guy" name though.
just use a shop vac
Dude you need to steady the camera while your explaining the “how too” videos.
I didn’t need to see you pick you pick your teeth.
