I am portuguese, Sagres has been my favourite place in the Algarve for 40 years, back when we were kids hitchhiking and enjoying wild camping. It was wild, only locals around, cheap, genuine and absolutely amazing. Such wonderful memories.

I really enjoyed this video. I haven't been to Sagres in 30 years or so. Fond memories of the hotel and the Tasca, I used to go there to visit family in the summer. My uncle had his house, where the hotel was built later. There was a farm towards the west of the harbor, and there were a few houses along the beach to the east the harbor and that was pretty much it! Looks to me that Martinhal is where a British couple friend had their home. I was pleasantly surprised how Sagres has "grown" w/o losing it's wild, remote side, which I loved. 👋👋👋👋👋
My dad's family was from the Algarve, Silves. They lived in Lisbon, but tio Alvaro had that house in Sagres and decided to build a hotel; it was a bold move. My dad's company built the hotel Baleeira and the one in Armacao De Pera; I can't remember the name. The Algarve that existed then was remote, wild, and beautiful.
Well it seems you looked at Sagres from a 'guys' point of view Nick ! ? lol ie the beers/bars etc Or maybe its simple exploded in the year since this video ? Quite a few interesting shops have opened up. A lovely Dutch lady has a unique clothing store...Another Dutch owned ice cream/coffee shop...A great little restaurant as you enter Sagres village at the roundabout..A 'famous' specialist ' pizza franchise with cute garden..around the corner from the 'camel' bar ...Sagres is bitter sweet for me and my family ,(a family tragedy.took place there over 30yrs ago) we still visit for the famous sunsets from time to time though.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Jenny. However, you're right about the perspective (tough not to view it that way for us - being guys and all 🤣). Maybe I should try and bring along a lady on my next visit to Sagres. 😎👍🏼

Hey Luca, yes there is. When it's too big on the west coast and when the swell direction changes. We even get surf all the way along the south coast in winter (Albufeira, Vilamoura, Faro).

amazing how they convinced fools, they had to wear a mask to stand up but they were perfectly safe once sat down. the truth is coming out but people still don't want to hear how they have been conned
Still required on public transport and medical places inc pharmacies. Public transport mandatory mask wearing *should* be stopped in the next few days but will be continued for all medical.

I love Sagres! I spent 3 months in Portugal (on the Silver Coast) and drove down to Sagres twice.
My Australian cousin who now lives in Lisboa took me to Sagres after he collected me at Faro. Your wonderful video brings back cherished memories

Are you able to drive Portugal without paying tolls? Are there back streets or you'll always have to take highway's with tolls?
